On the outside, it appears to be nothing more than pawpaw's old work truck but, the squatted Silverado revving its 5.3 at you at the traffic light is about to get a very generous serving of gapplesauce. Like a wolf in sheep's clothing, this "work truck" is hiding a cammed 6.2L LS3 V8 connected to a 6L80 transmission and sporting a set of US Mags wrapped in Hancook 295/45R20 in the back, 275/45R...

First !!! I’m doing the same thing to my C2 Coup. I had a 500 HP old school 327 with a manual 6 speed but I’m switching out to a 650 HP LS2 engine. Just got a save up the money to swap it now. Just did the suspension and big disks brakes. Got a rack and pinion power steering to put in. Hopefully it’s done by next year !!!

I would go with the 5.0 Cyote. Too much plumbing on the ecoboost.
As for towing and gas mileage. As comparison, my BIL has a 3.5 EB and his gas milerage is worse than mine with my 2011 Super Duty towing the same weight. Yes, more torque, but that's about all.

Its funny how most sales people reccomend ecoboost while techs recommend the V8. Call me old school but imo a gas full-sized truck needs a small V8, and a midsize truck needs a NA V6 unless you dont keep it more than 5yrs. Save the turbos for the rice rockets.
I've had the 3.5L EB - POS. The EB has too many parts to go out, example, two turbos and exhaust manifolds that warp - not designed correctly. I'll take a the 'Ol Bear (V8) over the Two Squirrels everytime.
But all the Ford mechanics will take the 5.0 over the eco-boost.
That's circumstantial.
3 or 4 years ago but not now that it’s a proven engine. For those who know how to maintenance vehicles.

To everyone debating whether or not it is a sedan or coupe; the VIN and trim tags have been decoded and verified it IS indeed a 2-door sedan.
Mr. Canizales I can assure you that the amount of doors (2 or 4) has nothing to do with this because hardtops and sedans were both built with 2 and 4 doors. The hardtops have the convertible’s side windows and no posts. On a sedan the frame around the window is part of the door and the car has posts. I watched your video and it's not anything official. A sedan is 4 doors. A coupe is 2 doors. People began to use the term "sedan" as far back as the 50s since the hardtop came out. It's like using a word often enough tha after years it goes into the dictionary. It's a coupe!
@@maurocanizalez1537 This argument was about if the 55 shown is a 2 door sedan or a hardtop. It is definitely a 2 door sedan body style. The so called businessman’s coupe was just a striped down very basic 2 door sedan (sometimes sold without a back seat) that salesmen would haul their goods or samples in. The businessman’s coupe was a trim or option level. A 2 door sedan is a body type and that is what the 55 in the video is.

The 4 door hardtops were refered to as a sports sedan. Some where along the years somebody decided to change it and everyone ran with it!😆 There were club coupes, fastback coupes, business coupes, and hardtop coupes. And that's the fact jack!😁
A sedan can come in 2 doors or 4 doors and the same can be said for hardtops although the vast majority of hardtops were 2 doors. A hardtop shares the same side windows as a convertible so in another words the door does not continue up and around the side windows so there is no side post or posts in the case of a 4 door hardtop. In many cases (but not always) the convertible had a slightly shorter windshield, if so the hardtop would share that as well. The hardtop has more or less ended up being a thing of the past because it has a hard time meeting modern roll over standards. And by the way my name isn't Jack.

Nice but it not a hardtop, it's a 2dr sedan, I prefer the post car, it seals up tighter and looks shorter, the space between the trunk and rear glass is shorter. I sold mine, then the price tripled .you have a very beautiful 55 chevy.

Nice review. I've been looking to buy a used R/T.
Because fuel is HEAVY, and transportation by truck with a 5 or 6 car load, the fuel would be adding up to low mpg for the transportation vehicle. Also less fuel means less chance of a huge fire if there was an accident. Nice review. I bought a GT LINE with premium package new last year. Like it. No problems.

Because not everyone can afford a new truck.
I think the advantage of the 3.5 is high torque at a low RPM, like a diesel. Less wear with the same mileage over a V8, so if aggressive preventive maintenance is performed, it should last as long as a diesel. I drive 40 MPH at 1200 RPM. I've had cars that idle at 1200 RPM. I change the oil every 5,000 miles, and everything else at 1/2 the Ford recommendations. That is how I'm defining aggressive PM.
The Ecoboost engines are underrated IMO.

I can understand what you mean. In this instance, the Santa Cruz had already sold, so I was unable to get a test drive or demonstration video in time before the client took delivery of it. I have more coming, so rest assured, I will be doing a detailed walk-around (w/o music haha).

Similar to the Ridgeline, indeed. Hyundai took their time in their R&D, because they knew how Americans feel about their pick-ups, so they picked the best parts of various existing pick-ups and made it their own.
