The Big Island of Hawaii. We DIDN'T WANT to LEAVE
The Big Island of Hawaii left us speechless. We've explored different sides of Hawaii, but weren't ready to see what the Big Island had in store. Its diversity took our breath away. Its history gave us goosebumps. And the hospitality of the people of the Island of Hawaii made us want to stay longer.

Best-Kept Secrets of Oahu | Oahu without Crowds

This is the side of Oahu, Hawaii, that we don’t often get to see. This is the other Oahu, a secluded section of the ancient island intersected with tropical rainforests, well-preserved elements of Asian cultures, and trails, so steep and muddy. We decided to go off the beaten path and explore hidden places of Oahu that visitors don't know anything about, but locals cherish and frequent. BLOG PO...

Rainbow Falls in Hilo, Big Island | It Rains A LOT Here

Rainbow Falls... This name was chosen for a very good reason. On a sunny day, rainbows form above the waterfall when sunlight eliminates the mist at a particular angle. We arrived at Rainbow Falls during one of the sudden rainy outbursts. Oblivious to any modern weather radars, Rainbow Falls creates its own rules and weather. So we had no other choice but to step into Hawaiian warm rain and hea...

Thank you so much!! The shots with purple sand are incredible ❤
Thanks for watching :)
Join us on the adventure along the Grand Circle of the Big Island to see sites of Hawaii you've never heard about.
Mount rushmore was built in under 15 years, with a budget of about 1 million dollars in 1925, worth about 17 million dollars today. Somehow the crazy horse monument has taken over 75 years to build just the face. And the "foundation" must be making millions per year
what a beautiful video, thank you.
Thank you for watching!!
During our visit to last Hawaii, we decided to go off the beaten path and explore some of the hidden gems of Oahu known only to locals.
Incredible views! Your video really captures the beauty of these scenes. Thanks for sharing such amazing content! 👍8
Thank you so much for watching!
Well, Oahu... We couldn't quite decide how we felt about it until our last day on the island. The most developed Hawaiian island, it has it all: the largest city in the state and some of the most secluded jungle trails within a few minute-drive from each other.
What time of year was this when you went?
It was almost mid-May. Normally wildflowers die by this time, but not that year.
@roadsanddestinations Thank you 😊 🙏 we recently visited the area this past weekend, and it wasn't as beautiful, just really hot.
@@scarecrow0117 Yes, the desert in the summer is extremely hot :)
Rainbow Falls in Hilo... This name was chosen for a very good reason. On a sunny day, rainbows form above the waterfall when sunlight eliminates the mist at a particular angle.
I went all most 50 years ago, and it's absolutely the same. My Rushmore was found the OG VI-KINGS OR 6 grandfather's all they did was remove 2 faces. HIS-STORY is a huge lie question everything trust nothing
Nice 👍
Thank you!
always wanted to ride in a balloon. Beautiful video. Thank you for taking us along. 👍5
Thank you! It's still one of those pinch-me moments for me as well :)
It’s my birthday. I invite you to meet me up in the sky observing square particles of land, precisely divided by paved and dirt roads and scattered across the Temecula Valley, from Bounty, one of the two largest hot air balloons in the area.
One really needs to visit the Northern Coast of California to sample beautiful state parks without crowds. I have hiked every coastal trail between Bodega Bay and Redwood National and State Park. Not going to give you any particular names because I am greedy for less travelled roads. Loved your video.
I'll keep it in mind and try to see more of the Northern Coast. We've been to the area, but haven't explored it through and through. So I'm looking forward to seeing what it has in store.
Why is that person burning a plastic bottle? 👎👎
Did you know that you can boil water in a plastic bottle (nobody is talking about drinking it)? I didn't know it. So that person was showing us how it could be done. Don't worry, the bottle ended up in a recycle bin. We always try to leave a place better than we find it.
This is pretty 😮😮
Thank you
Really good! Please keep making more :)
Thank you!
Taking you to one of the secluded beaches and natural preserves in Malibu, a place where yellow coreopsis bloom in early spring and dolphins and whales play near the shore from January through April.
When will we stop disturbing sacred places…
You are correct, those are nice hikes to see vistas but not to challanging, good video
Thank you. These trails are perfect for beginners or those who don't hike on a regular basis. But if you hike just a few of these trails a day, it adds up to about a total of 10 miles.
Nice video. 👏👏👍👍
Thank you very much!
Awesome Video!

Beautiful! The blanket of fresh snow is just magical.
Thank you very much! I really appreciate it.
Wow!! Fantastic video. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you for stopping by and watching it!
The Japanese term shinrin-yoku can be translated as forest bathing. Forest bathings is believed to be very beneficial for mental and physical health. Coniferous forest is preferred as it releases more phytoncides that help with anxiety and depression. Yet studies show that even watching a video or looking at a picture that depicts nature increases satisfaction and overall well-being. I hope this short forest walk was helpful in one way or another.

Absolutely! Banff is stunning in every season. Winter is ideal to visit as it’s less crowded and the snow add a blanket of beauty.
Yes, I wouldn't want to share the park with hordes of visitors during the peak season. The winter season felt just right, not necessarily empty, but never too crowded.
@@roadsanddestinations Summer can be overwhelming, which is why fall and winter is my ideal time to visit.
What is the main reason for the slow progress?
We all would like to know it. I assume not enough funds would be one of them.
Government efficiency
Has nothing to do with the government! That was the original premise of the sculptor.
Great video! This place is on my bucket list to post a video of an epic hike. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you! I hope you'll cross if off your list soon :)
Winter in Banff National Park starts early. Now in full winter swing, Banff National Park looks transformed and offers some of the best outdoor activities. Is it worth it, though, to explore the Canadian Rockies, covered in snow?
Saw it first in 1977, then did a helicopter flyover tour in 97', saw it last in 09'. I'll be dead and gone it still won't be finished.
I have to agree with you. It looks like it'll be another few decades, maybe even more.
Crazy Horse, "Go West young man!"
Should’ve started the video off by answering No
The answer is yes, you can boil the water and you can use it for different purposes. Do you want to consume it? (I think this is your question.) Well, you decide for yourself.
Never. Took 14 yrs. to complete Mount Rushmore with 1930's technology. They never plan on finishing this cash cow. Not worth paying to see. Stop on the highway and look with binoculars, cause thats as close as you will get without paying big bucks for special tour.
You are a fudd for sure. Better than Rushmore. I’ve seen them both.
Over one million people vist it a year!!! This family is having a good time with your money!!!! They say they need more funding.....really......
Well if you can't afford it, just don't go!
So much more beautiful than rushmore... plus he's a real American, not a genocidal psycho like the "founding fathers".
You have some psycho stuff going on yourself.
Handsome
😃
Sitting Bull lies in an unmarked grave off his native land. To have a monument on ancient holy land of his people angers many of his family and his people. Mount Rushmore is even more of an insult to these people. The Fort Laramie Treaty of 1868 has been trampled on. This land was promised to the Lakota and taken away by the federal government. The Lakotas, Cheyennes, Arapahos, Kiowas and Kiowa-Apaches believe the Black Hills to be sacred. The US Supreme Court ruled in 1980 that the Black Hills were stolen in and that the tribe should be given cash however the tribe wants it land. For those protesting for Palestinians or Israel; this is closer to home.
Nature inspires me in more ways than it's even possible :) That's why I like Oregon so much, a place where waterfalls greet you almost around every corner and hiking is an important part of life. Do you have any favorite places? www.roadsanddestinations.com/2023/10/13/the-best-bucket-list-destinations-in-oregon-for-nature-lovers/
Een prachtig park zijn daar zo vaak geweest vooral in de herfst
Yes, it looks absolutely beautiful when leaves turn yellow and red.
Imagine wasting billions of hours and money carving a mountain instead of using that to fix broken hospitals schools or outdoor parks... crazy...
I guess it's just more of a question of preserving the legacy. The monument is not funded by the state of government. It's self-funded or uses donations. For the Native Americans, it's a symbol of independence and freedom.
This memorial doesn't take any money from the US Gov't. It is all privately funded and provides many jobs for the native tribes in South Dakota. So stop preaching.
Get a life.
