I'm so amazingly happy to have come across your sketchbook tour at this exact moment! Because the level where you were at in this sketchbook is where I want to be heading next. At first I was inspired by the way you drew noses, so I did a couple of studies of your drawings. And I noticed: I can't make my drawings as good as yours yet, but they make enough sense to see what I need to do to get there. Plus I love your lineart, and I will learn so much from seeing how you achieve that look. How lucky is that!? To find an artist whose work is so cool, and more advanced than mine, but by an attainable degree. So thank you very much for posting, your sketchbook will be a major source of inspirational and encouraging examples for my practice sessions. Also, you may have already figured out your linework (you mentioned you liked it on certain pages but couldn't replicate it at will). But I had a realization recently, that may help you as well. I watched a sketchbook training tip video, and I noticed a major contributor to the linework looking so amazingly crisp in this person's sketchbook was that his art was more spacious or airy or light than mine. By which I mean, his empty areas were bigger, so his lines were further apart. The artist is called Aarón Luna, but he was a guest in a video by Janos Gerasch Art. Highly recommended. I can't achieve that quality yet, but I'm pretty sure you'd be able to do it (if you're not there already). So anyway, thank you. I'm very glad to have found your video. And I just wanted to let you know how helpful it is to me because I know it would make me super happy to know another artist was encouraged and inspired by my work.
ive been watching this soo much since it came out, your book is amazing
