QUE IRONIA QUE HOY SON USTEDES QUE HACEN LOS MISMO QUE CRITICARON HACE 12 AÑOS, COMO SIEMPRE EN RD NO SE TRATA DE LO BUENO Y LO MALO, SI NO DE QUE ME CONVENGA.

I think people get this misconstrued as Piquet backing Senna, its more that at that moment they both had a common enemy. The rule that stripped Senna of his 1989 title was ridiculous irregardless of who you were rooting for, and it was a rule that would F over every driver. Piquet spoke up because he didnt want to have to deal with it himself.
It is in this press conference that the pos that senna is contemplated to use his McLaren as a weapon in crashing into Prost deliberately risking injury cause his pathetic little championship is more important to him than a competitor's health or even life.
To be fair to Ayrton Senna, he could have easily better Prost on merit, but didn't wanna risk Prost playing the long game because he could would have lost. This was just payback to Prost for the previous year on track collision. I often wondered why Prost retired from F1 after getting his 4th title with Williams when he could be been the first to win 5-6 titles before Schumacher dominance.
The english speaking media was very biased aginst Senna...starting with Murray Walker and of course good old Balestre...the only fair commentator in those days was James Hunt. James appreciated Senna very very much.
Senna was a real drama queen 👸
They robbed the 89 championship from him
No they didn't. Even with this win he threw the title away in Australia when he hit Brundle. Non issue.
Piquet doesn't get enough credit he deserves. One of the greatest F1 drivers and one of the few to win the drivers championship with a car that didn't win the constructor's.
Piquet was right. He made a suggestion that completely makes sense. It doesn't matter if there was another rule in the previous year. Senna did something that was forbidden. Period. And then he reacts (as usual) as a victim.
Thanks for providing some context here for ppl who didn’t follow F1 back then! Eeesh
Bravo to Nelson. Respect for Ayrton. Shame on Prost.
Lindo recuerdo
That was the ultimate proof that Senna had been ROBBED in 1989
Piquet'in Ayrton Senna'ya desteğini samimi buluyorum.
Piquet sometimes jokes and slander others, but he has a clear subjectivity and when he says what he has to say, he comes forward more clearly than anyone else. I want to see him interviewing the winner at the Brazilian Grand Prix again.
i don't see piquet speaking up here as an act of defending senna, rather just wanting to have the right to use the escape road again in case the same thing happens to himself like "hey you took away the escape road from senna but can you please give it back to us now in case this ever happens to us, especially me?"
Prost won these battle because he's an european racer It was an accident, Michael did worst things and never lost an Championship
Ayrton was not a cold, calculating machine. On the contrary, he was a respectable man, due to his nobility of character, his great sensitivity and his honor.
Prost, greatest driver ever
“Hey Piquet, your enemy got f*!” “He was not my enemy, you see? He was a competitor. Don't confuse things." - Nelson Piquet and some idiot at the South American Karting Championship the day after Senna's death
Nelson is the man. He wasn’t friends with Ayrton and there was that Brazilian rivalry. Which makes his support for Senna even more heartwarming and surprising at the same time.
O que sera que o Senna disse?
he said : “I’m out of here because an asteroid is about to strike this goddamn room - too many idiots have gathered at the same spot talking nonsense 😡put@ padres ajajaiii !!! 💥🚪
Mira Abinader hay ese ladrón

Senna DSQ at Japan 89 was OK but the thing is they DSQ Senna for the wrong reason. Japanese trackside marshals clearly gave Senna a pushstart all the way Senna's engine stalled. Back in the day the regulation said you can push a car at a dangerous position in terms to put the car outside the track like japanese marshals did with Prost's McLaren. It wasn't the same thing what Senna did asking those marshals to give him a pushstart to rejoin the race. Japanese marshals never pushed Senna's McLaren to the grass outside the track like they did with Prost's McLaren. Everybody knows Senna was like a God in Japan back in those days. Off course japanese marshals were helping Senna and not helping Prost. So Senna was pushstarted. They DSQ Senna for the wrong reason but nevertheless Senna deserved to be DSQ. End of story. Period.
There was a big FACK up with Ayrton last year
Senna morreu com ressentido! Isso não é bom. O Prost totalmente desconcertado.
Brasilian top five. 1)Nelson Piquet. 2)Emerson Fitipaldi. 3)Rubens Barrichelo 4)Ayrton Senna. 5)Massa
Don't talk sh*t
Names are right the sequence not.
Was it held 90 or 91?
This briefing scene is from 1990
artyon has the looks to be a major movie star
He was soo handsome here
he was extremely good looking but what made him stand out was his spirit
It's not that Piquet was backing up Senna, It's just that he hated the same absurditues... You can say they had a common enemy
He talks a lot of shit but he respected Senna, as much shit as he talks I'm sure it's his way of dealing with stress, etc. As disrespectful as he is, he is respectful in his own way. He put it his way and nobody else would understand but I'm sure Senna did
Drastic: Piquet and Senna just hated and couldn't see each other. Then the master of cheating started to speak in defense of Ayrton Senna, you have to understand how hugely dirty what happened the year before was. Even Nelson Piquet couldn't stand that.
One of the best drivers ever! Who can blame him for not wanting to resume a hostile rivalry with Senna. It would have been the McLaren wars all over again. 🤔
Piquet ,o melhor deles todos !
The thing is that they wanted disqualify Senna no matter what he did. I mean even if he spin turned and went back to the circuit without going through the escape zone, they would start accusing him for the push start. Senna got trapped. He needed to pass Prost in the race cleanly.
All that bitching and moaning then he goes and puts his own life and Prost’s life in danger by shunting them both off the track at 130+ mph. Funny how it’s a travesty of justice when it goes against Senna, but we don’t bat an eye to his own travesties
90 Zuzuka is purely a revenge of 89 and I have no blame of Aryton
Senna was always a hot head, and this video shows proof of it. It's called "red mist". He was a brilliant driver but had serious flaws as a person.
