The entire episode is a tragedy: for Sinner, his team, for tennis, for the ATP, for WADA, for ITIA, for the Italian tennis training system - and for the US Open. It has been a tragedy for fans like me who used to consider tennis a wonderfully exciting alternative to the real tragedies going on in politics and war and society. Now tennis has become just as bad. Sinner has attracted, probably without intending to, a truly vile set of fans called 'sinnerfam' just as bad as 'nolefam' who impacted terribly on the way the world saw Novak. They are throwing hate and disgusting accusations on anybody who tried to ask for equality of treatment. They have particularly attacked Kyrgios - sending thousands of disgusting messages every day targeting his family, his girlfriend of four years, his injuries, his ability to play tennis, his mental health...appalling attacks that finally made him respond. They succeeded in getting the world to hate him - or did they? Most people, having thought about it, now just despise Italy, Italians, sinnerfam - and unfortunately Sinner, who is a sort of innocent victim in the middle of this. I, for one, after 30 years of following tennis avidly and travelling the world to watch live matches, never want to see a ball bounce again.

This is no more than an attempt to imply that Naldi is suppressing info that shows sinner is guilty of doping. But Naldi has made no such comments to date. Not being allowed to tell the whole story during a legal proceeding is to prevent bias. Sinner has been found not guilty of intentionally doping. WADA agree with this but they don’t agree that he took reasonable steps to prevent the accidental contamination. But if he is guilty of not doing his due diligence , he will likely face a ban.

Retirement is inevitable. Playing like you have played when younger, is impossible. When a tennis player has achieved what Noel achieved, it is a joy to retire, with no regrets. But to still play at the age of 37 and still reach finals, that is a blessing, which can only be done by the Best of the Best. And do not forget that Gold Medal. WOW! Incredible! There is no doping find a real case WADA. This person has been tested several times over the last 2 years and always comes clean. In March there was presence of a miniscule amount (1 billionth of a gram and even less) that accidentally got into him coz his physio had used an otc drug on a cut. This was proven thru an enquiry and wada agrees to it. No dispute on that. Does this amount to negligence to not monitor staff... thats' what wada is claiming - what a frivolous case. Neither his performance nor physique altered at any point and that amount is insubstantial.. the rumour mill has gone berserk.

Sinner is so calm, gentle and polite that he can never ever use anything knowingly that may jeopardize his bright career.

If everything was so clean as Sinner claims - or mostly clean - there is not the slightest dilemma that WADA would have spared itself the effort, time, and money and simply accepted the original decision of ITIA. However, this shows that there are clearly some flaws in the original verdict, which, if they were to be revealed later, could seriously damage WADA's reputation and cause too many problems. We can only guess, but it is highly likely that not all information is public regarding this case. Escalation is not beneficial for anyone here WADA, ITIA or Sinner, but clearly something we dont know is forcing WADA to push this case further...
