    In Italy we never eat raw egg-white, it's considered dangerous. The egg-yolk is fine

    • @candadcookit
      @candadcookit 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks for your comment. That's right. Is it related to food poisoning? Since the egg-white is on the outside, it may be more susceptible to bacterial contamination. What do you do with leftover egg-whites? In Japan, eggshells are sterilized, so food poisoning bacteria are not much of a concern at the household level. Thank you for the information.

    Looks delicious! I've discovered that the Japanese meaning for the Saury fish is "Autumn knife/sword fish". I also love how simple it is to cook - salt. That's it. Perfect for someone learning to cook seafood! Those of us living on the Atlantic Ocean side don't get to have much fresh Saury. Curious if the frozen is any good? Thanks for posting!

    • @candadcookit
      @candadcookit 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you for watching and comment! Salt-grilled fish is simple and very delicious. Frozen saury is also sold in Japan.The taste may be a little weaker than raw saury. If you are using frozen saury, place it in a nylon bag and thaw it under running water. Once the surface of the saury has thawed and become soft, sprinkle with salt and grill. If you thaw the saury completely, it will lose its freshness.

      Thank you for comment! I'm sorry for the late reply. It's also delicious to eat with salt. Instead of cornstarch, you can make tempura by dipping it in flour mixed with egg and water and frying it. Tempura is often eaten with salt.
