I Can Call You Daddy (audio) - Jerry Davison (Jacob's Trouble)
มุมมอง 974 ปีที่แล้ว
Blowing the dust off some old tracks during quarantine... Home demo of a song I wrote back in the early 2000s. I was trying my hand at writing for others and a friend of mine was producing a female Christian artist. I submitted this tune but it wasn't what they were looking for. I performed it a few times at my home church but never pitched it to anyone else. It's just sat in my library for the...

Gethsemane Song
มุมมอง 1994 ปีที่แล้ว
I wrote this song several years ago but never recorded or shared it with anyone. It came out of some personal prayer time with Jesus around His words to the disciples in Gethsemane on the night He was arrested. The account of His struggle in prayer there has always been a tremendous source of comfort for me personally. I hope this song will resonate with those who find themselves anxious, fearf...

(c)2017 Jerry Davison. This song came to me during a prayer time with some friends. I finished it the next day. Pardon the less-than-spectacular ukelele skills.

What happens when you spin a bunch of kids around really fast and have them try to kick a football, swing a golf club, and knock a whiffle ball off a tee? That's right, they fall down. A lot. Highlights from Church at the Ridge Youth Camp 2017, June 12-16.

Nice job Jerry! I only missed this by 7 years! Better late than never. I'm just curious, would you happen to remember a guy that kept heckling you when y'all came to Tuscaloosa, Alabama back in '93? After the gig I invited y'all to come over for Buffalo wings. Seemed like ya wanted to, but had to decline. Would have been fun though. All these years later I still really dig Jacob's Trouble. Btw I now understand that even if you seem larger than life, you are a just like me 'cuz after all you're just a man! But we wouldn't have it any other way! I always loved that Phil Keaggy song! Love that album!
This brings back incredible memories
This is Godwin Kamali from Jeremiah House
Thank you.
Awesome song Jerry, thank you.
Love it! Thank you.
Awesome song Jerry. Thank you.
This is a classic.
Très touchant , magnifique , bravo !!!!
Lindas personas bendiciones
God is good.
Love this group and this song! Saw them at Sunshine in the early 90’s 😊
Good stuff!! 💛💛💛Both of y’all!
"Turn in your hymnal to page number one- it's not Holy, Holy, Holy it's Fun, Fun, Fun". This is one of the greatest observations made, then and for now. I use this very often, the only drawback is not a lot of young people know about "Fun, Fun, Fun", but they get the idea.
Jerry I can’t help listening to this song over and over has a great guitar hook and all in all a real great song. Thanks again brother. Merry Christmas!
I was there! My friends and I waited and got there early so we could be right in the front. One of the best times of my young life.
Thanks for sharing .... keep them coming it’s help the day pass by! Stay blessed!
Thanks for sharing the demo . I like it. I always enjoyed Jacobs trouble. Thanks again
I’m a proud de-convert. There are only two voices from my past I enjoy - Rich Mullins and Jacob’s Trouble. I’m sitting here alone in quarantine and this song ran through my mind. I may not believe in this god any more, but I’m so grateful for this Spirit. Thank you for being a bright spot in a dark past and a dark present.
Thanks, James! While I can't say I'm super excited that you have departed the faith, I am glad our music still resonates with you and that you are staying safe in this crazy time. Thank you for the encouragement!
Dude, I love it! I'm preaching through Psalm 46 right now. Can I share this video on our Facebook page?
Yes, please feel free! I'm glad you like it!
I recently introduced my daughter to your 90's music and we are both struck by how prophetic those songs are. I can't wait to share this timely with my whole family while we wait on the Lord in our Safe Place. 💖
Thank you!! I'm happy to hear our music is still meaningful to you. Hope you and your family remain safe and healthy during this time.
Good song brother and glad to see you. Be safe , in that SAFE PLACE!
Thanks, Stan! You stay SAFE, too, as you shelter in PLACE. :-)
I never heard of this. This is awesome !!
Loved this song... still do! Miss your music... thank God for technology.
This could convert Marilyn Manson who I love dearly in all of his misdirection. If you want to know the true value of Jacobs Trouble and its effectiveness I can contribute a before and after for you with myself.
I know I seem over exuberant but you, Keith helped put me this lost soul at the feet of Christ in all of my tattered rags. I'm not without sin but your angelic voice and lyrics helped me kneel. I mean after I heard this song it made me get on my knees. I have an unorthodox view of the thing but doesn't every one? The Christ is risen in me through your melody and lyrics. I love you brother to the ends of the earth. Thank you so much.😭
Shout Keith!!! There is still power!!!
I was there!
Me too!! Fun, eh? :-D
Life changing song. Where have I been all my life? Mashiach NOW!
I call you holy.... Holy u are and Holy you'll be
Holy fuck this is cringe. Did they really have to switch engine noises?!? Hoooooly mother fucking shit hahahaha it's so cringe!!!!!!
Awesome!!!!
You inspire me, Jerry .. instagram.com/p/BYXlS4_jrBO/?hl=en

We love our church!! God has blessed us in abundance with our church family!
I was there, and this band, shoulda been the next GIANT, in the CCM industry. Great memories!!! ! ! Thank you for posting!!!!!
+Jim Loeffert Thanks for the kind words!
You're WELCOME, "It Only Takes A Moment", & I had one DURING that tune...... I believe my life was forever changed that day, that instant, & I let LORD of my life happen. I thank God for 'that moment'. I thank you for your' kind words!
Very first CD I ever bought - because of the Capitol swirl logo. Still own it.
"Knock, Breathe, Shine" is a power pop masterpiece. Did Jacob's Trouble fly too close to the sun?
Jerry, don't know if you're still out there or if you remember, but I was the guy who walked up to the band at Cornerstone 89 (Maybe 90) and just wrote you guys a check..... without asking for anything in return, just said that I wanted to bless you all because you guys had renewed my faith in Christian music. The check wasn't for much, wish I could have given more, but maybe you'll remember the situation. I am now a missionary in Southeast Asia, and still love listening to the bands music periodically on my IPod. This was one of my favorite songs before Third Day picked it up.... nice to hear this version. Hope that the Lord has continued to bless you guys over the years, don't know what you went on to do.... but I pray that you've been faithful in your walk and ministry. God's Grace be with guys Wayne Shuman, missionary to Taiwan
+Wayne Shuman Wow! Thank YOU for obeying the call of God! I am so encouraged by your message. Thank yu for taking the time to write and tell me, and thank you for listening to our music after all these years. Be sure to check out our reunion concert CD recorded last year. It has a pretty cool version of These Thousand Hills. You can get it here: jacobstrouble.bandcamp.com/album/25live-2
I love this song......
Great Version! Thanx!
This is so cool! I don't really like today's Christian Music compared to this time period.
I saw Jacob's Trouble at SonShine in 1992 (?). Y'all were my favorite band for quite a while after that!
This Creation '92 show was the first time I ever heard (or heard of) Jacob's Trouble. Thanks for posting it! JT was my favorite band at Creation '92, and they remain one of my favorite bands. When I had the opportunity to talk to Jerry on the phone four years later (he responded to a fan letter I'd sent -- what a thrill that was!), he was very encouraging to me and invited our band, ApologetiX, to visit his house on our first tour of the South. He was a very gracious host, and we got the chance to reconnect in Nashville in '99 and Las Vegas in '03.
Hey J! Thanks for the kind words. For the record, we are huge Apologetix fans as well! Great t hear from you! I'm back in the south again so look me up sometime. It would be great to hear from you!
Funny that I should find you here, John.
Jerry --- I was the fellow who walked up to the band at Cornerstone 91 (90? 89? this aging memory...) and handed you guys a check, and said I just wanted to help you guys out. It wasn't for much... I think it was everything I had in the account at the time ($5)... but you guys really restored my faith in Christian Music at the time. I still love you guys to this day. (And a pretty big Apologetix fan as well...)
