The Best Track on Every Iron Maiden Album
Huge pile of good stuff, mate. I'm missing DubnoBass from Underworld. Should add Kraftwerk too, it's really grown on me. Keep collecting CDs bro, you have a wide range of genres and good taste 👍
Cheers bro. Appreciate it. Highly recommend "the mix" by kraftwerk as a starting point
Happy return and wow what a collection for 2024! 2025 here we come!
Cheers mate!
Great pick ups
Thanks buddy
Awesome update! Good to see Blood Incantation, Marilyn Manson, Opeth, Van Halen, Probot, Jimi Hendrix, etc..
Thanks mate. Glad you liked it!
EV has the worst artwork ever. I wish Boneface would re-do it.

Original KISS Army kid from June '76. Ace Frehley rules! ⚡ Anyway, here's my Top 12 (or baker's dozen): 1. KISS ALIVE! 2. Dressed To Kill 3. Rock and Roll Over 4. KISS 5. Hotter Than Hell 6. Love Gun / ALIVE II (tie) 7. Dynasty 8. Destroyer 9. Creatures of The Night 10. Unmasked 11. The Elder 12. Lick it Up SOLO ALBUMS from '78: 1. ACE FREHLEY 🛸 (easily #1!) 2. PAUL STANLEY ⭐ 3. GENE SIMMONS 🦇 4. PETER CRISS 😼 Finally, just a comment in general (not here, in general): I am so sick of hearing this inane, knee jerk opinion about the "production" on the first two classic KISS albums being "the reason"... BS! I can understand someone saying it about "Hotter Than Hell" (but for me, it absolutely adds the LP's character and dark, underworld, evil sound!), but when it comes to the debut, I think you're all on crack! The LP sounds great! Especially as a debut album. Yes, of course the songs sound better on ALIVE!, but I personally feel that this album's sound, feel, speed and power is perfect! Each of the first 3 KISS albums are uniquely excellent in this way. What, do you all want them to sound the same? I love their own special qualities...and then having them all go to another level on KISS ALIVE! *Also, "Flaming Youth" & "Sweet Pain" are both excellent tracks. Actually, for me, it's those two that draw me to listen to Destroyer the most. M ⚡ p.s. I don't care about anything after Lick It Up. That's some other stupid hair band...not KISS. Asylum is a decent effort for the MTV crowd. I was 19 when it came out...I hated it. But over time, I like it slightly better. REVENGE is ridiculously overrated. To me, it's a one track album. "UNHOLY" is brilliant, but the rest of it is a who cares affair, with some songs (Domino, I Just Wanna, etc.) being cringe inducing. Saw them at a club show on that tour, with my soon to be wife. It was good. At least they didn't look like sequin'd drunken housewives, like they did in '85-'89.
Haha, they did look bad from 85-89. Thanks again for your well thought out comments. You're obviously a huge fan which is great
@cdrevival Haha! Ya think? You know that was the thing I liked most about Revenge (other than the excellent "UNHOLY")...it was the way more cool, down to earth look of the band compared to the ridiculous way they looked from '85-'89. Feh... Anyway, I am a huge fan, 1973-1983. And what they brought not only to me, but the entire ROCK world, from '73-'78, was priceless! My favorite artist is DAVID BOWIE. And then BLACK SABBATH, KISS, AC/DC, JEFF BECK, ZAPPA, PINK FLOYD, THE CURE, JUDAS PRIEST, T REX, LZ, etc. But KISS "is" on the Mount Rushmore for me ('73-'83) ⚡
ACE FREHLEY from 1978 IS "The Second Coming Of Christ!". It absolutely ROCKS throughout. It's a sonic masterpiece! Shame on ye! And man, you seem like a nice guy, decent fella. BUT... Jesus Crimminy!, you putting those horrible fake-Kiss PAP albums (Crazy Nights and Shit in The Shade) "above" the brilliant ACE FREHLEY solo album was, at once, stunning, disgraceful and absolutely sickening to see. 🤮
Thanks, I appreciate your comments. I appreciate also that a lot of people see Ace as some kind of guitar deity. That's fine by me. I've been a huge fan of Kiss for over 40 years, I like pretty much everything they've done, including the albums you have slated. Everyone has their own opinions and of course, I respect yours. Take it steady
@@cdrevival Thank you for the kind and respectful response. I appreciate what you're saying. Ace's solo album is brilliant and fantastic throughout, but I agree about opinions being your own. Sometimes I think that the issue is, if you were born too late to experience this band in the 1970s, starting in the mid 70s, then it's hard to understand why we rave do hard for it. And maybe our opinions bother you, b/c you didn't get to experience it. The difference in this band between the 70s and the mid to later 80s, is immense. Anyway, I enjoyed your ranking in general. Rock on!
Thank you. I'm glad you enjoyed the video and thanks for watching. I agree that the 70s albums have a certain magic that the later stuff doesn't have. I enjoy hearing about others tastes, even if they don't match my own. Thanks again
My ranking for the Anthrax albums would be 11. Volume 8 The Threat Is Real 10. Stomp 442 9. We’ve Come For You All 8. Persistence Of Time 7. State Of Euphoria 6. Worship Music 5. For All Kings 4. The Sound Of White Noise 3. Fistful Of Metal 2. Spreading The Disease 1. Among The Living
Nice mate. That's a decent list
Good ranking here’s mine: 13. I’m with You 12. Unlimited Love 11. The Getaway 10. The Red Hot Chili Peppers 9. Return of the Dream Canteen 8. Freaky Styley 7. Stadium Arcadium 6. The Uplift Mofo Party Plan 5. Mother’s Milk 4. One Hot Minute 3. By the Way 2. Blood Sugar Sex Magik 1. Californication
Thanks mate. Yours is pretty decent too
1. Stained Class 2. Defenders Of The Faith 3. Painkiller 4. Sin After Sin 5. Screaming For Vengeance 6. Sad Wings Of Destiny 7. Firepower 8. British Steel 9. Killing Machine 10. Invincible Shield 11. Angel Of Retribution 12. Turbo 13. Ram It Down 14. Demolition 15. Point Of Entry 16. Nostrodamus 17. Redeemer Of Souls 18. Jugulator 19. Rocka Rolla The top half of the list are basically all classics, even the lessser albums contain stuff that is worth listening to
Decent ranking tbh. Can't argue too much with that. Thanks for sharing!
I’m blown away you don’t like Little Dreamer
It's my least favourite on the album. I don't dislike it tho. Cheers for watching mate
Excellent ranking video Simon, and for the most part, I'd have to agree. Certainly, your number one is also my number one (also my introduction to VH), as is number 12 (an absolute shocker..😬). The only ranking change I'd personally have is a direct placement swap of 'for unlawful carnal knowledge' and 'a different kind of truth'. Other than that, bang on the money ma man! Thanks for another enjoyable video mate.. 🤘🙂🤘
Thanks mate. Was a difficult task to rank them all as they are mostly a very high standard. Appreciate your comments as always!
Excellent Van Halen ranking.
Thanks mate. Glad you liked it
A great ranking album video. I have some of their discography (only compilation albums unfortunately) I don’t have any of their albums because of availability (well I can’t decide) have Spotify premium so I have that.
Thanks buddy. A band well worth a deeper dive for sure
Finally someone who puts 1984 first. One of the best albums of the 80s. I’m tired of watching album rankings where it’s ranked down as low as number 6 or 7 even behind Diver Down which is just mind boggling.
I love it. Amazing album. Cheers for watching buddy
If you put the remastered albums on the side next to each other it makes the original iron maiden iron maiden artwork
Love Ugly Kid Joe ...personally I think all their albums have some awesome qualities, but like you, Menace To Sobriety would have to be the pinnacle of their work. Enjoy early U2, especially October, The Joshua Tree and War. The rest I have but don't listen to as often. Thanks for sharing more of your collection mate..🙂
Thanks mate. Appreciate your comments.
Unearth - oncoming storm slays!! Listening to it now just to remind myself how good it is.
Cheers bro. Definitely one to check then!
Nice “U” section of your collection, the last 3 Ugly Kid Joe albums are fantastic imo
Thanks mate. I'll have to give them another go I think
Nice 'U' collection. Good to see U2, UFO and Ugly Kid Joe.
Cheers mate. Glad you liked it
Woohoo you are back. Love your U collection. Also a fan of UFO also.
Thanks buddy. Always appreciate you watching!
@@cdrevivaldo have social media. Instagram or X? If so I’ll follow you
Thanks mate, don't do a lot of socials but I've got a cd revival group on Facebook. Check it out if you get a minute
I never had any interest in the Ghost albums. I never also liked Year Zero, when that came out its when i've lost interest in NIN. Anyway my ranking ( including EP's) 11 Hesitation Marks 10 Year Zero 09 Bad Witch 08 Add Violence 07 Not the Actual Events 06 The Slip 05 Pretty Hate Machine 04 The Fragile 03 Broken 02 With Teeth 01 Downward Spiral
My ranking 11 eat me 10 we are chaos 09 heaven upside 08 pale emperor 07 portrait of 06 high end of 05 born villain 04 golden age 03 mechanical 02 antichrist 01 holy wood
Your Top3 is exactly the same as mine lol I agree that their early work is their best.
Cheers mate. Yeah definitely. No tourists is a good one too with a similar vibe
There's only one real Motorhead line up so top five albums is easy for me. 5, Iron Fist, 4, Bomber, 3, Overkill, 2, No Sleep till Hammersmith, 1, Ace of Spades. Phil Campbell and Mikkey are great, but if you want the absolute best Motorhead then its Kilmister, Clarke and Taylor. There is a reason that these 5 albums have sold more than the other 18 studio albums, 10 live albums and 12 compilation albums put together. If you only know Motorhead post Eddie Clarke then you are listening to a totally different band.
Thanks for your top 5 mate. I first heard the band with their original lineup but I appreciate the albums that came after also. You're missing out on some great stuff if you only listen to the original trio imo.
As the creator of this video stated, you really are missing out on some killer material. Eddie was my favorite guitarist in the band but Lemmy was undeniably Motörhead. Curious though, did you like Eddie in Fastway? Great material but it never quite measured up to Motörhead in my opinion.
@@andypostema4269 I've listened to almost every album they did, I am a fan, but the post Clarke, Taylor Motorhead sound like a totally different band just with the same vocalist. I aren't missing out on anything, but hey if you think I'm wrong then name me an album they made that is better than either Overkill, Ace of Spades or No Sleep till Hammersmith.
@@cdrevival I've listened to almost everything they ever did, but like I said there is a reason that those 5 albums sold more than all the other 40 albums put together, and they do sound like a much weaker version of the originals. Listen to any tune live, and then listen to the Campbell era version of same tune. I rest my case.
Fair enough. You're entitled to your opinion. I have all their studio albums on CD and have listened to them all extensively. I love all the stuff with the "classic" lineup but equally I love a lot of their later albums too. Also sales figures don't mean Jack shit otherwise by your definition Taylor Swift or some other crap are the best artists in the world. Good day to you buddy
Thanks for sharing! You did a good job rating some of the song's! Out of the cellar could of had 7 singles come off of it. Love it ! Warrens solos were fantastic! Lets replace that demonic ghost shirt with a ratt shirt!God bless you! God bless all the ratt n rollers! Jesus saves sinners! Love Infestation! Sweet cheater from Ep! Lay it down! Iconic riff! Cellar Invasion Dancing Detonator Reach Infestation 1999 Ep Collage
Cheers Greg. Glad you liked the video
Aye nice collection for T. This was uploaded when I got back from my vacation in Lausanne, Switzerland. Great video.
Thanks mate. Hope you had a great holiday!
I'd say "The Day is my enemy" is their worst because it sounds like every other mid-2010s electronic group and I'd know because I'm an early 2010s kid
Definitely not one of their best mate
AWESOME 'T' COLLECTION! TOOL, THARAPY?, THIN LIZZY, AND THE TOP GUN & TOMB RAIDER OST. SOME VERY INTERESTING CDS THERE.
Cheers mate. Glad you enjoyed it
Love your review. Everyones list is different RARO thru Asylum is my favorite era because i discovered Kiss with LG and Alive 2.. Rock on bro
Thanks mate. Glad you enjoyed it!
My top 3: 1. MFTJG - dark masterpiece 2. TFOTL - thing that bring em great world success 3. Expirience - great start
Thanks!
I got into CD collecting a few years ago here in Japan. Lots of used goods shops here selling CDs in excellent condition. Got into collecting MiniDiscs (MDs) too and now cassette tapes. I also collect sports cards.
Jugulator is Awesome !
Yeah, I really like a lot of it
So who is doing the ranking here? And what is their bias and what are they partial to?
It's my ranking, I've got no bias. I'm partial to good music!
My would be: 1. MFTGG 2.The Fat of the land 3. The day is my enemy 4.Experience 5.Invaders must die 6.ANNO 7.No tourists
Cheers mate
Yes RARO is #1. Though no Ace songs... but still. Just missing an Ace solo on Baby Driver.
Floored Dynasty is a KISS album when you say it yourself he doesn’t fuckin play lol
Why would you say they get too much crap? They earned that! As a lifer KISS fan since age 4, Carnival of Souls has grown on me for one dude - Bruce Kulick. The Alive 3 tour made me view that 1991-1995 lineup as the most unified 4piece band since Dressed to Kill. I am dramatic yes, but to see Sonic Boom and Monster even in this list makes me upset as a lifer still putting hours in playing the Wicked Lester classics lol
I still think they are worth listening to. Just about haha
Hey hooray part 2 of T collection. Great collection. Also I my cat passed away today and I’ve been in pain and depressed. This has cheered me up. Thank you
Awww man. I'm so sorry about that 😞 I'm glad this helped in some way.
@@cdrevivalI had him for 15-16 years. But it’s awful and it’s hit me even harder. Thank you for your kindness of words.
Always difficult to lose a pet, especially after such a long time. I'm a cat lover myself. Thoughts go out to you mate
If Brian maintained his voice from BIB, would your rankings change?
No mate. The songwriting is not as good imo
Hola Simon ! Gran colección de Testament ,una banda que prometo descubrirla .Por cierto los Temple of The Dog lo tenian a Cornell como vocalista .Saludos desde Argentina
Gracias amigo!
Awesome 'T' CD collection! Good to see Testament, Tesla, Taproot and Temple of the Dog.
Cheers mate!
Cool vid. Subbed
Thanks mate. Much appreciated
Gran video y excelente coleccion , gracias por las recomendaciones , saludos desde Argentina
Gracias amigo!
Nice lot over those couple of months mate. I too have only recently got into Krokus...better late to the party than never 😆. The Smiths and Morrissey is another I have never really given a chance to, but picked up three Smiths and four Morrissey albums at a large local book, DVD and CD fair for $1 each. Gotta say, I think I was late to the party here too! Damn fine stuff most of it. Thanks for another fine video buddy, and happy collecting!
Thank you mate. Always a pleasure. Yeah Krokus have done a lot of stuff, some better than others I think. Absolutely love the Smiths, I'd recommend "louder than bombs" which is a collection of singles, lots of which weren't on their albums. Take it steady bro
Great video . I buy a lot of cds from music magpie and I've noticed prices gradually increasing ...... I wonder why . Good things too ya .
Thank you mate. Yeah music magpie is great. Prices I think are going up a bit. In charity shops they definitely are! Cheers for watching, I appreciate it
Throw those ‘98 remasters in the skip, completely worthless. Pick up the original first issue CDs, far superior sounding (‘Somewhere In Time’, originally a beautiful sounding cd was completely destroyed for that ‘98 remaster) or better yet, get the 1995 2cd versions with the bonus disc of b-sides/live tracks. The only good thing about them remasters was the booklets.
Thanks for your views mate. I've actually got the original Somewhere in Time 👍
@@cdrevival Cool! It’s an amazing sounding album - Martin Birch was perfect for that band!
Yeah, it's one of my favourites. I agree, he was their best producer
