Painting a Watercolour Dog - King Charles Spaniel
มุมมอง 313ปีที่แล้ว
This week I’ve been painting this lovely little King Charles Spaniel dog while I practice watercolour pet portraits. But it was lovely practice and I hope you enjoy this watercolour Timelapse! Equipment used: Bockingford 140lb watercolour paper, tow...

Small Watercolour Landscape Walkthrough
มุมมอง 7372 ปีที่แล้ว
This week we have a slightly different format. I have painted a small landscape based on a reference photo I took of a field in late summer. In this video I attempt to paint said landscape and as this has been a new challenge for me, I have also reviewed the painting at the end. There is a brief summary of all the things I might change in this painting as well as a list of all the things I thin...

    Thanks to everyone who has watched this so far and for your suggestions for future tutorials 😊. I’ve stumbled upon a slight setback with garden bird recommendations being made in the comments 🤦‍♀️ . TH-cam flags up some of the bird names as inappropriate… so apologies if I miss a comment or if I’m unable to get back to you regarding one of your suggestions. I might have to resort to using their Latin names instead 😂

    Can you paint without drawing first 😬 yet?

    • @rachelsarahart
      @rachelsarahart ปีที่แล้ว

      I think it usually depends on the style as to whether I decide to sketch first or not. For some looser style paintings I like to paint without drawing first. It feels a bit more spontaneous and it helps to keep things simple. For something like the magpie I definitely prefer to sketch first! It doesn’t have to be anything over complicated or full of detail. Just having a rough outline can act as a great guide so you know the proportions and positioning are going to look right before you get started 😊

      Thank you for watching 😊 I got the masking fluid from Jackson’s Art Supplies website. It’s their own brand masking fluid and applicator set. I haven’t used any others to compare it with yet but I do like this one. I still use a brush for large areas but this has been great for detail!
