This man has sped up our RENOVATION by 8 MONTHS!
We've really struggled to make significant progress on our cottage renovation. Or we did, until one man came along. That man is James Green and in this video we explain why every renovation project should have a James attached to it.
Hello! My name is Tony, and I own an Estate Agency business in the Cambridge village my new home will be situated in. It’s going to be a wild journey, and I plan to move the family into Crossing Cottage within 12 weeks! Will we do it? It’s going to take real work and effort, but I’m going to capture as much of this restoration as possible and share it with you here.
I’m really looking forward to the transformations we’re going to see as we get the cottage restored back to its very best and sharing that journey with you, no matter the ups and downs.

The BIGGEST Risk We Took on Our Country Cottage Renovation!
มุมมอง 1993 หลายเดือนก่อน
In this video we share one of the biggest risks we've taken so far with our country cottage. To have the dream home we want when its all finished means losing two rooms for the moment - and only getting the green light on our planning will give them back to us later on. This leaves us with a massive gamble on our hands. Lose these rooms, possibly forever and devalue the home by thousands, or ta...

Can foreign nationals buy Properties ?
I don’t live in Cambridge, but Dom’s on Mill Road is the best I’ve had in the city.
Thanks for the recommendation. We might have to check it out!
Presentation looked better on the second shop, yet they got scored less? Setting presentation aside, what's the cost?
They were both around £3.50-£3.70
@@LivinginCambridgeUK no wonder they both looked dead. Is it where the rich go to hang out, and happy to pay london prices. For a bit of coffee and milk, it's nothing but a rip off. I bet a cuppa joe ain't much far off the same price either.
@@sicdoctor Both places were busy inside (we didn't film inside). I can understand it seems like a lot, but you're paying for more than the drink, it's for the atmosphere, the community, and something a bit more special into how the coffee is made. If you like spending a bit more on your coffee and the environment you drink it in, they are both great places to visit.
@@LivinginCambridgeUK thanks for the info, I'll probably swerve both when I'm there. What's your suggestions on the boozers, if you don't mind please?
@@sicdoctorOne of the most popular pubs in Cambridge is The Eagle on Bene’t Street. It has a lovely atmosphere with outside seating too and right in the heart of the city.

I fell in love with the UK way back in 1963 but it took me to 1972 to finally get there. I love the older cottages ...
We're very lucky to have some beautiful older cottages in the UK - thanks for watching!
@@LivinginCambridgeUK No thanks needed, it was a lovely video. I've been to the UK about 14 times and I am never going to be bored.
Gorgeous and very well maintained!
Lovely
Cottage English Rose 🌹 Cottage
I wonder how much it takes to keep it maintained, it’s over 300 years old.
What shops and workshops would you like to see at Fernley Farm? This is such a great idea for the Fulbourn and Teversham communities and will make both areas much more desirable as places to live.
Beautiful home. I won’t mind living there.
Nice house! Love your boots!
As lovely as it sounds, i wouldnt be caught dead on uk soil. Too dangerous! Plus monarchy, they arent kind especially with foreigners!
I think, for anyone who visits, you'd be pleasantly surprised at how lovely most of us are. 😃
We don't want you anyway!!
What the hell are you talking about? American? Checked out the murder rates lately, especially in schools? And what foreigner? Thick Harry’s missus?
شكراً لك . لدي سؤال ، لماذا الاسقف منخفظه في انجلترا ؟!
It’s sounds funny, but people were generally much shorter 300 years ago so properties this old often have lower ceilings
@@LivinginCambridgeUK شكراً لك 😅
Wish the camera person wouldn’t wizz around so fast !
Nice cottage, awful car...(:
Car is not for sale.
Don’t tell Lewis Hamilton you said that 😉
wow very helpful video

Note to all who show homes - No need to display yourselves, the HOMES and GARDENS speak for themselves and thank you!
Thank you for your feedback and I'm really glad you liked the video. Our channel aims to curate people around living in Cambridge - the homes, the locations and what not, and that's why Tony takes you on this tour. Although a cottage like this does indeed speak for itself. 🏠❤
I love him telling and showing.
@@lauriewarner4848 Thank you!
He could show this beautiful home anytime he wants to...he is also easy on the eyes.
I like it when the sales person shows the properties, they have to appear and explain details of the homes. Greetings from Texas.🤠👍
For pretty big and tall people it amazes me how low these UK houses ceilings are.
You'd be amazed how quickly you forget how low they can be. It's really down to the age of the property and how tall people were 300-400 years ago. Fortunately, most homes built in the last 140 years have much more headspace.
We bought our cottage when our son was young teen, now he’s 18, over 6ft and having to bend and crouch under the beams and doors 😂 it’s something I didn’t consider 😅
Wow kako je divna kuca 😊ja sam iz Sarajeva Bosna i Hercegovina i volim UK jer moji sinovi žive jedan u Birmingenu a drugi u Bristolu😊😊😊
Low ceilings also helped in heating the house.
Just perfect !!!
It really is a special property, isn't it!
NICE

The fireplace probably had a small Victorian cooking range and the top lintel was probably the original one. Drive past the cottage most days
Thanks Simon! That’s been a real mystery up until now! We’ll have to mention you in a new episode!
Really enjoyed the update, it will look fantastic when its finished 👍
Thank you Darren!
I was quite shocked to hear that about the chimney when the brick layer told me. What experiences have you had with renovation emergencies?
Great video Tony, we look forward to watching your updates on the renovation. Good luck!
Thanks Darren! Glad you enjoyed it. Just filmed a new one so will get that up soon!
