    How do you go about picking the best skin on Texture XYZ? I feel like it’s hard to pinpoint an actor’s skin tone since reference pictures have all sorts of lighting that change its appearance.

    I have Intel Core i7-11700kf processor and RTX 3070 10g oc And May is running like shit, I don't know how you managed to do it. Compared to a blender, everything is so heavy, clumsy and works just stupid. Waiting 10 minutes to preview the render with my GPU is crazy

    30:06 where does "mask data" come from, I don't see it myself, plus your head is matte and mine is shiny. I don't know how you changed it. Still, I don't see anything if I add a new layer on the displecement channel, I only see it when I do the same on the Diffuse Color channel. Does anyone have a solution? very annoying

    You could also flatten the geometry to UV space. Feel like the transfer could be even better.

    Can you do the Wrap3d using texturingxyz method for models like a zombie,that doesn't have a symmetrical face and his lips,mouth,eyes,differ in shape and features from a human's face?

      Yep its the same process but you would need to do more work later on in texturing, but this would give you a good base. Tbh the method is a bit outdated now. The newer xyz and 3d scan store methods are the way to go

    Hi great tutorial I have a question why do you turn off filtering after applying a texture ? what does it do ?

      Most render engines will apply a softening filter to the texture which can help with sampling. Turning this off just makes sure that the unaltered texture is being sampled

    I have a real hard time to find a way to work around field of view especially how to handle to reference with different valors like one photo on front and one photo on profile. Did you have any suggestion about some tutorial or video that treat specificaly this kind of aspect of 3d sculpting?

    I know this video is old. I am hoping you'll still see this comment to reply. I have 2 questions. 1) The program you use for the photos, I am having a hard time hearing what you're saying exactly, I heard Pura or Peora, but could not find it by a simple google search, was hoping it was in the description, but it is not. The second question is concerning the use of base mesh. I am trying to do this exact likeness for DAZ Genesis 8.1 Male. So I need to keep the geometry otherwise it messes up more things down the road (I think one of the commenters alluded to it). The Iray Renderer will allow you to do Subdivision level 6, so I assume, using ZBrush if I just have Dynamic Subdiv on, and set to smooth subdiv 6, I can do all of this without changing the base geometry. DAZ works off of Morphs, so I'd be re-importing the sculpted mesh into DAZ and then it would translate the delta's into a Morph wheel. If you're familiar with this process, is there a chance you could do a video on it?

      Sorry yeah its dificult to understand. Its Pure ref. Im not familiar with daz but I presume you can just use their basemesh

      @@Adamocg Heh, I'm sure it doesn't help that I spent my youth inside of cars that would make your ears and nose bleed if they were turned up all the way, and my weekends throwing raves. LOL. But thanks for clarifying the program name. And yes, I am using their base mesh (Genesis 8.1 Male Character) to sculpt on. It has a starting Polycount fo 259,136 KP (Full Body + Eyes + Teeth), which is making it kind of hard to do the initial blocking out. I wonder if I there's someway to reduce the resolution first and then bring it back up without affecting the base geometry...

    Hello. I don't have a Utility/Raw color space. And my displacement map is not displayed on the model. Maybe someone had a similar problem?

      I don't have utility raw as well, using some standart "raw" instead. Hope this works. And about displacement try switch to Shaders (betweet Channels and Objects) and set Current Channel for example, you will be able to see the Displacement at least

    Hi Adam, I would like to asking a question. There is a way to paint two texture at the same time in order to overlap them perfectly? Example, here you work with the displacement and the diffuse in two separate step, but what if I need a large number of detail match exactly one with another, examples the pore skin in both diffuse and displacement? This issue bug me a lot, I found a way in substance but since my graphic card is a bit old I cannot export texture in 8k, I would try to work in Mari (onestly simple because I like more the user interface and UI style) but this problem of overlap texture bother me a lot (presented by Hetap) so i was looking for some kind a thrick. The closest thing is change the texture before bake it and go back and forward beetween layers but this is work only if I not bend the texture, the moment that i change image the bend grid reset itself. So here I am searching for answer. Sorry for my broken english ^^'

    Hey! Am I able to hire you? I've hired different artists to do a likeness sculpt, but none of them were able to pull it off. It's so frustrating because their work looks amazing on artstation, but what they delivered wasn't even half as good... :/ it's so hard to find artists...

    mh.. so this pipeline is a pipline to all the Finalstages for Cinematic/Film AND Real Time Game Character or Adam? I mean, you rendered it realistic, so you took a higher subdivision level of the head. But when i make the same Obi, BUT for a realtime game character, the only thing i had to do is, to take Level 1 or 2 Subdivison of the head from zbrush AND i have to make Haircards and place them. Do i understand right? I ask you that, because i want to become a patreon and i want to make Game Characters.

      Yeah thats correct. The only difference between AAA games character and VFX character pipelines is the optimization to save, storage/ memory/ framerate. This means using hair cards, lower poly count, lower texture sizes, ect.

    Currently following this, however, when it comes to being in the Visual Editor, the right window still displays the plane the image is one, whereas in the video it isn't there. The plane makes it very hard to add points to the mesh. :-\
