A Realistic Day in the Life of a Computer Engineering Student at UIUC
มุมมอง 20K2 หลายเดือนก่อน
Being a computer engineering student at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign is tough. I filmed this Day of the Life Video in February, but only got the time to edit it now...I hope you enjoy it! The main purpose of this video was to be as realistic as possible. Of course, most of the day is filled with lectures, homework, and projects, but there are a lot of fun moments you get to share...

Danzon No.2 Cajon/Piano Jam
มุมมอง 2504 ปีที่แล้ว
For our marching band show last year, the theme was about Mexican culture and the Day of the Dead (I'll link it below). In the second part of the show, we played Danzon No.2, and I enjoyed the ambiance and emotional factor of the music very much. Once the marching band season was over, I got together with the synth player, who is a very good friend of mine, and we jammed out to Danzon. I hope y...
Genius Hour Jazz Project Presentation

This is my Genius Hour Jazz Project Presentation. In this presentation, I will go into detail on the history of jazz, and how I created my jazz piece called "Swinging Along". I apologize for poor quality for some of the slides, because there was a WeVideo Screen Recorder issue. Anyways, I hope you enjoy my presentation!
“Swinging Along”- Genius Hour Jazz Project
มุมมอง 1924 ปีที่แล้ว
Genius Hour is a project in which you research and/or create something based on your passion. One of my big passions is jazz, so I decided to make a jazz song with my friends who volunteered to help. Because of this quarantine, we weren’t able to record as we planned it. Still, my friends remained devoted to helping me with this project, for which I am extremely grateful. We recorded separately...
I am in community college studying mechanical engineering and I want to start a youtube channel, this is very good inspiration for me, keep up the good work. All the best going forward!
Although we are pursuing a same course but damn our lifestyles are so different due to the difference in our countries. Loved the content btw Steve. Expecting more bangers from your end. Greeting from India. Darpan
As someone who wants to study CE at UIUC, stumbling across your channel is actually a lifesaver Thanks man!
That’s awesome to hear man! I really wanted to create a video like this because there’s a lot of info on the internet for CS but not much for CompE. Thanks for checking the video out! Planning on making one next year too
do you live in ISR or Nugent? My son is joining next semester and wondering why this is such a long ride
I live in Newman Hall. ISR is much closer to the Grainger library and all engineering buildings. Nugent is a lot farther away, you’d definitely have to take the bus. Also I tried to get as many camera angles as I could for the bike ride. In reality it takes around 4-5 minutes to get from Grainger library to Newman Hall on bike, probably 15 minutes on foot.
My enthusiasm for computer engineering is very high... Really love handy things ❤❤❤
Keep ot up bro❤
bro your calculas class the questions you are telling little tough , i studied in 12th grade and it is easiest one concept of calculus.
Lolll good for you dude! Ended up getting an A in Calculus so I'm pretty satisfied
hahaha ECE220, nightmare, I'm gonna take final exam the day after tomorrow. 😅
Yeah I did not do good on that final 💀💀 gonna hope for better academic luck next year. Good luck to you though man!!
Math is super important to web deving
Are you moving dorms?
We’re going to an apartment next year - more vids on the way for that!
BACK IN THE KITCHEN COOKING AGAIN 🔥🔥🔥
🔥🔥
No more waking up to your alarm 😢
💀
Onwards indeed🤩
Damn that last scene with the empty triple hit hard🥲
Clip of the last day🥲
FIRE vlog Stephen🙌🏾🔥
Nice memories
go back to india
This Maths & Physics which you are learning in University are basic concepts For 11th grade students in INDIA !!
Yeah same here - in the U.S. the math concepts from Calculus II are taught in AP Calculus BC in high school. The Physics materials covered are taught in the AP Physics I course I took in 11th grade. The only reason why I am taking it in college is because I wasn’t able to get a good enough score on the AP exams to get credit. I’m fairly sure you need a 5 on both of them to get any sort of credit in college.
Awesome vid Stephan!
Appreciate the support Duggy!
Very beautiful Writing
Keep it up dude. Also what are your laptop specs? I am going into EE as a freshman next year and am wondering if I should buy a gaming laptop so I can game on the side as well
Thanks for the support man! I have an ASUS Vivobook OLED (M7600), Ryzen 7, RTX 3050 Ti, 16 GB RAM, 1 TB SSD. It’s a great laptop the one main bottleneck is the RAM as it’s soldered on and not upgradable. If you do want to game on the side I would def recommend getting a gaming laptop as most laptops aren’t built to support heavy gaming.
gogol
Found your channel today. I'm really addicted to your vlogs. Basically, I'm from India, and it's like my dream to come to America. All the vlogs were beautiful. I really got addicted to your channel! :D <3 Hopefully, I'll be coming to America for my master's, God willing. btw are you on Instagram?
Thanks for the support man!! I do have Instagram. It’s “stevemat1105”
That's a lot of classes! How many credits is that?
17 credits!
I have question im also going to be a computer engineering next fall and I just bought amacbook. Could I get by with that for should I opt for a windows
Most of the CompE’s I know have Windows laptops, but you can still make it work with a Mac
Aw so glad I got to relive that day through this vlog🙌
Nando's is amazing!! At least in the UK
“Celia and Gracelyn missed the train” 💀
Had to leave that one in there 💀
So actually we went to celebrate Holy Qurbana not Mass🤓
Alright buddy
Did sanjoe fall asleep?
Huh?
The first like fr
He got the chicken bowl
Bro your enthusiasms are like those of Indians❤
this is a great insight video, there isnt a whole lot of computer engineering videos online, looks really nice to have several lectures a day. I get one a day if im lucky, is really annoying.
Yeah fr man, that's exactly why I made this video. There are so many resources for computer science majors, but there's not much for computer engineering. Hope you enjoyed it!
so i’m doing comp engineering this upcoming fall, can you give a brief but honest overview on the difficulty of the material? seeing all your assignments really intimidates me, but i know that’s bc i know nothing about it yet lol. idk, like, if you put the work and studying in, is it doable? i don’t wanna be super stressed and feel like i’m not smart enough
I’m gonna be a College senior this Fall 2024 and im studying computer engineering full time along with a part time job. I would say that making friends and going to tutoring is gonna be your best bet. You will struggle and there will be times where you are lost, but that’s when you contact your professor, friends, the internet, and learn how to help yourself. You also will need to have discipline to complete your assignments. There are times when you’ll want to procrastinate and that’s completely normal, but it only makes it harder in the long run. I recommend starting assignments as soon as you get them, even if you don’t finish, this gives you more time to digest and think about what you need to do to get good grades. Also this guys schedule was super hectic and intimidating but keep in mind that you will decide your classes and schedule. You can make it max hard like this guy and throw 4-5 classes in one day or do 2 classes a day etc.. also he had a few extra curriculars but if you’re not the type, then you can definitely use that free time to help get assignments done. Keep in mind that college is gonna be a challenge for someone who is pursuing STEM and engineering but it’s not impossible and I know many non bright people who have been through the process, myself included. A’s are not everything, sometimes you have to learn that C’s get degrees and move on. Passing is what matters and at the end of the day being able to say “I’m a computer engineer” will take all the pain away 🤘🏽
I’ll probably discuss this in a future video, but as the guy said above, one of the hardest things about being a computer engineer is realizing that you won’t always be able to achieve perfect scores. The workload is extremely tough and the course subjects are hard. To be honest, my grades have not been good bro 😂 What really matters though is getting the connections in order to get an internship and really pushing to graduate with the CE degree. It can be overwhelming at times but don’t compare yourself to others (way easier said than done), instead build connections and form work groups with fellow students. At the end of the day, everyone is struggling through it together. Also, I recommend you watch the last minute of the video. This is my hardest day of the week, not every day is like this! Prioritize your work but also don’t forget to hang out with the amazing friends you’ll meet in college.
YESSIR
I’ll be studying computer engineering next year, enjoyed this insight!
Bro Could you give me your Instagram username,I would like to contact you to know about UIUC , I am interested to study CS but have no idea about which university should I choose
Awesome video, what dorm do you stay at?
Thanks man! I live at Newman Hall
What a view of the eclipse🙌 AND you got tenders?! Looks like a pretty good day😁
A VERY good day for sure 🔥🔥

If u dont mind me asking what is a good dorm for freshman, Im doing ee and my roommate is doing business.
For engineering, ISR would be the best dorm location-wise if you're an EE. However, if you can bring a bike, you have a lot more access to the other dorms as you won't have to travel as far. We are currently staying at Newman Hall which is near the center of campus and is a prime location for business majors.
What GPA is needed if I went to college after 10th grade?
Every school weighs GPA differently so it depends, this is something you would need to check with UIUC.
