GIJOE Cobra Strikes 2 - Film Festival Finalist Edition
GIJOE Cobra Strikes 2 - Film Festival Finalist Edition is a compilation from our original fan film spoof comedy series. It completes the saga with episodes 9-10. It was an honor to be selected as a finalist in the 2019 James Bond III Web & New Media Film Festival.
BRIEF HISTORY: It was filmed 20 years ago on a VHS-C camera over a course of 6 months. After being filmed, it sat in storage for 10 years before it was fully edited in iMovie. Then once I learned Premiere Pro and After Effects, it was remastered. Starting with a total running time of 54 mins before Premiere, with an extended action scene, it's now the length of a complete feature film at 1 hour and 21 mins long.
SYNOPSIS: It is an action comedy filled with slap stick, dry humor, action, and pure nonsense. Our story begins with the Dreadnoks stealing a highly radioactive nuclear weapon. A specialized group of military operatives are assembled to battle this new foe of society before they unleash the full power of the stolen M.H.R.N.E.R.D. Whether they are an elite team or a band of misfits, stay tuned until the final episode of GIJOE: Cobra Strikes.
NOW YOU KNOW: We are in no way associated with Hasbro and its affiliates. This movie was made for pure entertainment purposes only, and because we are huge GIJOE fans. We hope you enjoy our form of story telling through action, comedy, and visual effects. So now you know. And knowing is half the battle...YO JOE!

He had a great time doing it. It was all his story too. I was just teaching him how to put it all together.

I don't get why he didn't take the boy with him ? So the boy could learn how to get food !
Debmoon4331, thanks for the comment. Under normal circumstances, I’d say you’re probably right. But what we were trying to convey was that the father hearing his wife’s voice was actually a divine call to direct him to someone that could be trusted, that would be able to take care of his son before he died.
😢
A stranger steps up and cares for another mans child. Sometimes humanity still works.
Johncitizen147, Thanks for watching. We were really wanting to bring out a story that shows that kindness can sometimes come from unexpected sources. Hope you enjoyed it. I would recommend checking out our zombie series, Yesterday's Gone. We should have our third episode out before the end of the year. Thanks again.
Nicely done. Similar to Cormac McCarthy's The Road.
marcy6161, glad you enjoyed it. Definitely see the similarities with the Road. That was a great movie too. Thanks for sharing. If you enjoyed Desperate Men, you would probably enjoy our zombie series, Yesterday's Gone. Our third episode should be out by the end of 2024.
Cover Girl reminds me of Michelle Phillips from the Mamas and Papas
Maybe put the stars behind the clouds next time. 1:47. 😅
This was so sad, that little boy, what a great actor at such a very young age. 🥰🇬🇧👍
shunawestern9153, Glad you enjoyed it! I'll let him know you enjoyed his acting! He'll appreciate it greatly. Thanks so much for sharing.
Should have stripped away and utilized anything useful from the first two men. Their clothing would've benefitted the kid, alone, regardless of being adult-sized. Survival... every minor thing shouldn't be a missed opportunity. 🤔
echospaw899, thanks for watching. While all that is very true, especially in a survival scenario, the actual reality is, we really don't know how exactly we would react in a real-life situation like this protrayed here. And that's the point we're trying to make. The fact of the matter was, there were, I'm sure a whole lot of things going thru the father's head at the time, mistakes were and would be made; panic, adrenaline, fear; they make us all do crazy things at times. But the point we wanted to portray is that no one gets it all right all of the time. Sometimes, none of the time. LOL! Anyway, thanks again for watching. Thanks for taking time to share your comments. It really is appreciated!
@@jcentracchio Oh, I agree. I can't say, with all honesty, how I would've reacted, etc, in that scenario. Watching it in a movie vs being in it in reality are two completely different things. Good job on this project all in all. 👍👍👍
Best ever!

Lots of irrelevant comments below. This is not a comprehensive thesis, just a short film depicting the man-son relationship. It is, compared to the majority of the genre, meaningful, passionate, exceptional, excellent. I am so glad I discovered this. Thanx! Stick by doing what you do with love, don't become a slave of the agenda like some of the commentators below. In an apocalypse, it will be simple, we won't be prepared, perfect men, but we will know how to love. Without that, death would be preferable. This film shows how shallow most of the competition is. Well done. You should have more subscribers and an award, but then TH-cam and the world would be good, and sadly they're not. Comment on stereotyping in comments below: Those cannibals are not "red-necks" dear, they could be you, it appears.
janconradie7101, Thanks so much for the thoughtful observation. We appreciate the support both in watching and the affirmation of approval. Thanks for looking into the real content of the film into the actual story we were trying to portray. We can't thank you enough!
Very good
Chanceburger3169, thanks for watching. We're glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for taking time to share your thoughts with us.
All kinds of flaws Boy and his green shirt are too clean. Left the E-Tool (folding shovel) at the grave. Early On Should have stayed near the stream. Water offered best chance to get wild game. Fight After the fight, at a minimum, the man should have taken their knives, boots, etc. Searched for their camp. For that matter, he walked away and left food to rot on the ground. Not to mention, he staggered off in the woods and would not have found his way back.
Bro expected it to be a marvel level film cope
@StaleyFarmer Lame excuse. None of the flaws I describe required 'Big Sudio' resources. Just the opposite. If you're making a movie about people living in rough times, shop at low end thrift store or yard sales for the wardrobe. Talk to a few deer hunters about navigating unfamiliar woods. Etc. In other words, lack of budget doesn't excuse lack of common sense.
@@Charles-g1syour expecting to much its a youtube short film its story is incredibly sad and conveys a great message nithing is perfect i think they did great
@@Charles-g1s also in your og comment you mention how little dirty the little kids clothes are we have no idea how long this has been going on and the kids clothes could be just found
You also mention how they should stay near the stream what makes you think these guys would know this and after the battle the boots and clothes are the least of the concern he was just stabbed
THATS MY DAD MARK FARMER
If you're going to be a parent, being able to provide for your child doesn't mean you get a gun and steal your way through life. Learn what is edible. Save seeds and learn to cultivate and harvest your own food. Trap wildlife. You can learn these things without disrupting your daily routine. Learn to build emergency shelter. Learn to build livestock enclosures. Fences can easily be made from branches and long twigs woven into panels. A good parent doesn't leave a child alone in the woods in a half rotten wooden cabin with a burning candle sitting on the wood floor next to the sleeping child. Walking off injured and starving because he didn't care if he lived long enough to take care of his son. This movie was stupid. Every scene.
Rebeccacaraska, thanks for your comments. And I agree, in the "ideal" world, all people would learn and cultivate all those survival skills that have kept civilization alive for many years. But however, in the "real" world, how many people know how to grow their own food? How many people know or even seek to know survival techniques you mentioned? Or how many people in the world are used to going to the store to get everything they need for the day or week? One thing we should have learned from covid, not many people do. People were freaking out over toilet paper. The reality is, when the crap hits the fan, the majority of people lose their heads. And one final note, this is a story meant to evoke an emotional response, whether good or bad. And it worked. Thanks again for watching and your comment.
I'm glad that I watched entire movie till the credits - it must be great to have a family that's not only talented but amazingly cooperative.

Damn, seeing his dad get shanked pulled on the heart strings! Just started watching, hope it isn't a sad ending! EDIT- That was a sad possibility out of all the possible scenarios that could happen during times of crisis. Thank God for humanity not being dead!
Scottmiller6270, thanks for watching. Yeah when we collaborated on the story we were torn between letting the father die or not. But we obviously decided to let him die. Our thoughts were to show, like you said, in time of crisis, there are still good people out there. Thanks for sharing your thoughts with us. We're glad you enjoyed it!

Great story! I wouldn’t leave that E-Tool (shovel) though. 😃👍🏾
Geraldmantanona6116, glad you enjoyed the short film. Yeah under normal circumstances we would keep the shovel too. But for a nice closing shot for the film, we decided to leave it. Thanks for sharing!
In the great words of the tard on the movie the ringer. I've seen better acting In pornos . Kid smiling when he shot the redneck. Come on lol
I watch a lot of these post apocalyptic short films on TH-cam. Most of them are just OK, if that. This was well filmed, scripted story lined, every aspect. Congratulations on a film that deserves to be highlighted at film festivals, and i would vote for an award!
Charles Clark, we want to thank you so much for the kind words! We're glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment. We appreciate the feedback. We hope to share more content, hopefully sooner rather than later. Thanks again.
If marvel would have done ✔️ t this way it would been pretty cool 😎
Jonathan Hmm, thanks for the comment. We feel the same way. Though our GIJoe series is a spoof action comedy, we tried to remain true to the characters and their looks from the 80s cartoon we knew and loved. Glad you enjoyed it.
No war
I know I'm late to the party here but why is there no episode 3? 😕 The first 2 episodes were great...bummer.
Jo Hanna, I'm glad you asked that question. We actually have the whole series filmed (I believe it will be 7-8 episodes depending on where we cut each one) Currently however, my computer has been down for a very long time, with all my editing software, etc. So unfortunately that's the reason. The combination of the computer, software, and much-needed funds to replace both. But I'm sure you're not asking to receive a woe is me answer. We're glad you enjoyed the first 2 episodes. I'd like to encourage you to checkout more from our channel. Thanks!
@@jcentracchio I dont view that as a woe is me lol. Shit happens, I get it. Not all of us have the luxury to fix those expensive things that often break, and these days it seems like evvverrything is expensive. I'm all to familiar with how life often feels like it's one thing after another. No worries bud! I sincerely hope your able to acquire whatever funds you need to finish what is certainly an awesome web series. Good luck to you!!! 🙂

Hey, the guy was pretty pathetic! Right? Who leaves their child behind and alone after that terrible shock? A Desperate and wounded Man? Who's probably dying not going to make it alive or back, but you leave him alone without any Defense 'cause you took the gun? Dad couldn't even boil water to save himself, or clean his wound? Dad never even thought of taking the dead guys stuff? Does that sound like a Desperate Man? Did Dad make a first aid kit? You know the other men had to have at least something to boil water in? Dad didn't? I'm glad he's dead. His Son has a better chance at surviving? There's a dozen different things I can think of a person can use to catch fish or crawfish, even frogs, from creeks, streams,, and rivers? Fishing line is pleantiful everywhere a person can fish! And I would have taken everything from the bodies of these guys including their corpses! Desperate Men would have found use for every item they owned? I also would have searched around to find their campsite if they had one? They came from somewhere? This idiot just left everything behind and he's bleeding out? Desperate men don't leave anything behind? Especially a sharp instrument like a knife that could be a vital tool or weapon? Certainly a knife makes for a great fillet and skinning tool if this guy is ever successful at trapping something or fishing? Just go hang out around a water source? You know every forest creature will show up twice a day to drink? The same is true with food sources like Berry bushes where every species from the rodent family like rabbits, raccoons.squirrels and small game like deer as well as larger beasts such as Mt. lions and bears. If not for the berries it's for the other food source? The creature they're hunting? Same is true with the water source? Just give the handgun to your Son, let him lay in wait for the big creatures to show? He's a better shot and has a steadier hand anyway? This sounds disgusting but Desperate Men would use the deceased bodies as bait to get or trap larger game! The fresher the better? You wouldn't want to attract Turkey Vultures, and other Carrion creatures? It would be like eating recycled roadkill? Well, isn't that what shellfish is, but from the garbage off the bottom of the Ocean? And why is it so outrageously expensive? He could have even used their shirts off the dead guys as bandages? To just let himself bleed out without packing his wound shows his IQ has to be less than 70! Even his approch to the stranger for help was rediculous? I bet he wouldn't have even known how to get back to his child? A woman wouldn't leave her child behind? But, this is a film I seem to have invested myself into getting so frustrated with how NOT DESPERATE THIS FATHER IS? He's just a Dumb-Ass! The Father's Character had me so frustrated I was relieved when he died! I knew his Son was going to survive with this other guy who did exactly what I would have done. He followed the blood trail? Not only is the child is going to survive, he's going to thrive with this smart guy. And the kid's a good shot! But, why leave an important tool like a shovel behind? CRAP! is this part of the virus? Is it contageous?😲😯😳😟
Jake holding the gun looking like "😎 And that's the story how I saved my father" Phenomenal!
Holy shit...I needed a good cry....I fear for my sons future...
Damon Kelly, we're glad you enjoyed the film. And we couldn't agree with you more...We fear for all our children's future. Thanks for watching.
What a father who was wearing a thick warm jacket while the kid was wearing a single thin pull-over!
Sha Hon Chen, in all appearances of the film it would appear that way. But it was actually very hot, upwards in the high 80s and low 90s. In order to accommodate my son, who was taking time to film with us in the extreme heat, we allowed him to do without his jacket, seeing how forcing him to wear it would have made it more difficult to finish the process. I chose to carry his jacket instead.
If you need a smile please check out let’s kill zombies together video games are so cool on TH-cam channel a time for judgement.
o plz fearmongers it all de same 😞😱
You do know what a "post-apocalyptic" movie is, right? It's kind of in the name. Sorry you missed that part.
