How to Fix! Canva - 'Premium Images Cannot be Exported On Their Own'
So recently Canva has seemed to update their service so that you can no longer simply export premium images and / or icons on their own. Instead forcing you to add more elements before being able to export.
A stupid update that luckily has an easy workaround, and in this video I'll show you how to do exactly that.

Most welcome!
That is the most annoying thing ever! What's up with you @canva
USELESS! strat from the beginning next time dude.
I'm not sure either, but when I asked ChatGPT it seemed to have a plausible answer: "Canva's policy requires users to modify or add elements to stock images before printing because they want to ensure that users are creating original content and not simply reselling or distributing unaltered stock photos."
Exactly. I paid 150 Canadian and won't be able to fking download the fking thing lol
Thanks for this. I've just signed up for a free trial and discovered that this stupid change has been made since my last free trial.
Your starting in the middle of the the tutorial. It's like your showing a basketball game in the 4th quarter. No way for us to keep up. Well atleast for me that is. Keep going tho all luck on your page Sir
Nice, it's so amazing. Thank you so much!
Great fix! Thank you 😁👏
Glad it helped!
Why oh why did they do this? I'm an English teacher and I add the icons and elements to spruce up my slides. I value speed! So annoying,
Yup pretty silly of them I agree!
hey bro i am a re seller for canva pro at cheap price u need ?
what is zedindex- do i have to put a background behind the text? the video is dark and the text is white so that works
Hey my man - I would 100% give the BG a lower z-index than the text, just to ensure you can access it to edit in future. Z-index is basically the order of elements, the higher the number the more it will show over other layers. So for your example maybe best to have your BG z-index set to 5 and your text set to 6 etc. Hope that makes sense!
Nice method. But I found the easiest alternative is to simply add another image and just reduce that second image's transparency to 0. Works like a charm and is super quick.
That too! Thanks for watching!
+1
Actually, I did follow your steps but I have a submenu. Does that make a difference? Unfortunately it didnæt work. I've been using DIVI on and off for about 5 years so I am not really a beginner as such.
Hey Maria! Should work exactly the same on sub menus too!
I've watched at least 3 tutorials on this. You explained it in a way that makes sense! Thank you so much! That was happiness!
You're very welcome!
awesome tutorial, thank you fo sharing this technique!
Glad it was helpful!
Cool 🎉
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I've been fighting with this issue for a while now with no end in sight.
You're welcome!
I really do like your videos. Could you please create a complete divi website and record it and explain what you do? YOu seem to have a LOT of knowledge to share. Greetings
Great suggestion!
You saved a life today! Thank you 😁
Happy to help!
would you try uploading again? your explaining is perfect!
╰┈➤ COPY THIS CODE Go to: element settings / advanced tab / custom CSS / blurb image: vertical-align: middle;
Thank you, Thank you! The solution I needed.
Glad it helped! And thanks for watching, legend!
May I suggest an improvement to this tutorial? If yes, start from the beginning with a blank page and also use the "Admin labels" for each section, row, and text so that the wireframe can be easier to understand.
Why not close the Section that contains the Menu so we do not have to see it and be distracted or confused by it?
I hope you found this information valuable and actionable! What're your struggles right now with the Divi Theme? Let me know! :)
Thank you! Brilliant 👏
Our pleasure! Thanks for watching!
perfect, thank you
You're welcome!
