I agree with you about the male lead. He is impressive. I too love his? voice. He portrays suppressed emotion and passion very well. He seems quiet but is full of emotion. All of the characters are quite good. The rival to the male lead is just as compelling. I am on episode 20 and the drama is an enthralling watch. Storyline is different, mature leads. The women do not carry on or speak like baby girls and the male lead is quite firm when he needs to be. It's a compelling watch. Viewers with a taste for subtle, classic and gorgeous acting will enjoy this well written drama, at least at episode 20, it's still a fantastic watch. Congratulations to all the actors, the director/s, costume director etc. 🎉🎉💜💜

It's so good. I love both the male and female leads. They both have played intense parts or caused intense reactions to the characters they've played. "Are You the One". Really good drama so far. Great deviation from the other characters they've individually have played in other dramas. 🤗🍿🎬

this serie is very very good !! i like the new arc after ep 14 !! Badass FL and ML mature reliationship, friendship, no love triangle, amazing cast, comedy first eps doesn't represent at all the drama. if you're looking for a more serious athmosphere just start at ep 14-15

First few episodes kind of whatever but dive into more episodes is so good

Thank you for a great review. You really understand the series and story of the way each character comes about. Like you said S2 maybe better if they have made a better cut to smoothly convey and transpire emotional scenes. Some episodes are a bit too long to show the deep feeling Cang Xuan has for Xiao Yao. However, some more actions could be added for fight scenes of Ah Nian, Fanglong, Xiang Liu with some cool martial art moves. Plus a scene Xiang Liu and mermaids using Xiao Yao’s blood to heal Tushan Jing should be in there to explain why Xiang Liu asks for her blood. About 30 episodes for S2 would be nice. I also recommend this series to watch, but starting with an original S1 NOT a special edition S1.
