This video is mostly movie CGI and breathless blah blah. One thing for damn sure --- SR-72 won't be flying canyons ... that simulation is BS. My skepticism about the whole "SR-72" hype is twofold: 1. What is the real mission for this aircraft? and ... 2. Why would it ever be manned? I have no problem seeing a rapid reconnaissance mission ... but why manned? In this era Gary Powers serves no purpose -- just send a drone. The idea that this thing is an air-superiority "fighter" is nuts, and honestly ... the era of fighter jocks is coming to a close in any event. There won't be any turning or "energy management" dogfights at Mach 6. As a penetrating bomber the only possible mission is nukes, otherwise it can't carry enough to justify itself ... and again ... why not send a drone (aka cruise missile) or a medium range rocket?

This is just a concept that was made for the top gun 2 movie, not a real thing. Lockheed Martin did make a life size replica and leave it in the open on an airbase to scare the Chinese

If you tried to turn anything at +mach-3 the forces alone would rip it apart. It took many miles to manoeuvre or turn the SR-71 travelling at Mach-3. When you're moving at over 2km per second, turning isn't an option.

I definitely agree with you. People who think that the F-22 is better than the F-35 overall are probably seeing it through the lens of a 1v1 fair engagement. This is definitely not what’s going to happen in a real war as individual capabilities such as aerodynamic maneuverability and geometric stealth pales in comparison to advance networking and avionics. To prove me point, in a modern warfare with multiple actors such as SAM sites, AWACS, UAVs, Satellite systems and other aircraft, an aircraft that can properly network with all of this would be able gain as much situational awareness as possible in order to properly strategize and be able to completely crush the enemy in the long run. In that regard, the F-35 could do all of this with it's variety of datalink systems (MADL, Link 16 and SATCOM) whilst the F-22 does not have MADL, limited SATCOM and overall worse sensor-capabilities in contrast to the F-35. All of this networking also should have countermeasures against electronic warfare which the F-35 of course has such as better stray electronic noise suppression, stealthier communications, MADL having better cybersecurity measures than Link 16, integrated sensor fusions with more network systems and using low-frequency and encrypted datalinks in jamming. Overall, the F-22 is cool and all but there's a reason as to why the F-22 was never mass-produced or upgraded whilst the F-35 essentially dominates the skies.
