@@hudsonsfishingadventures That is no lie. The big jetties produce all the time. i think I have only gotten skunked there twice in 10 years of fishing down there and both where on bitterly cold days in February.

I love throwing a plastic shrimp, vu du shrimp is my favorite brand, down right off the rocks, and always pick up slot Reds and trout

@@hudsonsfishingadventures Dude i dont know if you have done it yet but keep your fish carcasses and either use whole or cut them into large chunks and take them out to the big jatties with you. As you cruise into the jetties from the bay side you want to go down to the flare "Where the jetties get wider". Go to the right jetty point and go out toward the ocean about 200 yards. Either drop an anchor or put your trolling motor into anchor mode and put one of those fish carcasses on the biggest rod you have with at least 80 lbs braid and a steel leader on a heavy wire hook and give it a couple of cranks off the bottom. I would also make sure your reel holds at the minimum 300 yards of line. I have hooked that monster 3 separate times and never got him in. Dont know what it is but its freaking huge and I thinking its a goliath grouper. Everytime I hook it I end up straightening a Owner heavy wire hook. If you catch it, I want pictures. Good Luck

I kid you not, one time probably 7 or 8 years ago my dad through a entire skipjack down in the middle of the jetties by the weather station, and hooked into something that was peeling drag like a psychopath. After maybe 20 minutes of fighting, we thought it broke the line, to get in in and see it straightened out a shark hook just like you said happened. There must be something, or multiple things down there that are huge!!!

It is called Rio Raft co., you can launch for free, and if you want to park there to leave your car you can pay for a parking pass, I believe it’s $5, I haven’t been down in yet this year, but we are gearing up to!

Try looking in google earth for little creeks, ponds, or access points to the Blanco River near a road. Then get out and do some fishing! I haven’t fished Blanco a ton, and this video was filmed on a private ranch, however I have had luck fishing the Blanco River by foot, you just have to get off the beaten path. If you go fishing at the state park, or one if the access points everyone fishes at, you won’t have much luck, because the fish are used to fisherman and lures passing by all the time. If you hike around, or find some new spots that are a little harder to get to, that is where you will find some fish. My final advice, for the Blanco River specifically, is throw lures like a rooster tail to imitate a minnow or small baitfish, or a small Texas rigged worm to imitate a worm on the bottom of the river (basically, keep your lure presentation natural) and I think you will have better luck!

There are little jetties you can walk and fish off if near King Fischer Beach, make sure if you fish there you cast out to the right into the deeper water. One of my favorite spots is Froggies Boat ramp, I would recommend you go just before dark when there are less people around, and on the right side of the bait shop there are some big shrimp boats. Fishing right next to the bait shop casting towards the shrimp boats, or going to the front of the bait shop and casting under the filet tables are some great spots. I have a video on my channel a year or so ago where I caught a 50lb drum right there. This 2 spots will give you the best luck, and are 2 places you can fish without trespassing. For either spot I would recommend live or dead shrimp. You can throw plastics, but it will be much slower action. Hope this helps!
