Cosplayers who don't recognize your music playing their character's theme are either completely oblivious due to the crowdy ambience or they don't know the music at all base on the characters they cosplay

i would say a good majority also ignore it on purpose. it sounds shitty because clearly they want to do something fun for others but as a cosplayer myself that had someone play soundtracks from my game it can become awkward pretty quickly... many people try to copy that trend in hopes of getting attention from cosplayers. i remember how he started playing it and at first it was really nice and we were vibing but uhm... he kept playing. after he played the second genshin soundtrack he started to play another and we didn't know how to politely get out of the situation. he even kept playing when people stopped by and asking for pictures. after we were done posing we tried to look ready to go but he kept following us even though we said we are gonna leave now to queue for a game (it was at gamescom). finally he realized that we weren't interested in giving him any more praise for his performance. the whole situation was just extremely awkward and uncomfortable. they probably try to avoid uncomfortable situations because cosplayers have to deal with so many weird situations throughout the day... there are especially a lot of weirdos trying to get tiktok content. the same day my then boyfriend (not even myself) was asked if they could ask me questions for tiktok and they wanted to know my bodycount........... the only tiktok experience that was kinda nice was when he wanted to film a fistbump and then surprisingly opened his hand with candy but then i have to think what the intention of him posting that video is. i quickly started refusing to be filmed especially for tiktoks. i find the idea cute of connecting with cosplayers through fandom-themed interactions but sadly too many people started being weird with it that we cosplayers are extra cautious. but i mean, a really fair amount of cosplayers turned around, didn't they? :)
@@dia21534 I totally understand people not turning around because of awkwardness or even not wanting to interact :) Sorry to hear about those experiences :/, it obviously is not a great feeling going through uncomfortable situations. I just do this yearly for fun and never make any money or subscribers and that doesn't bother me, the majority of people over the weekend didn't turn around, but that's okay :)

Alright, so I just found this channel and these videos, and... I'm gonna do it. I'm finally buying a Melodica. I'm not in Sydney, but there is a convention coming up next month in Melbourne, and I will be there. I just hope I gather the confidence to bring it, because I've always wanted to play one at a convention, ever since I saw LilyPichu do it years ago!
