    this looks really good, I don't think objects for bullets is unecessary you can't even see it, I think just making few raycasts along a bullet path would be more performant and definitely enough

      It's already using ray tracing for the physics calculations. The bullet object just follows along the path of the ray trace (so there's no calculations for the bullet object itself). The ray trace (as well as the bullet mesh) also get deleted if either the velocity goes below 10 cm/s or 5 seconds have passed since the bullet was shot/spawned. The only thing that would cause performance issues for people would be UE's lighting and mesh culling. But I'd rather focus on making a functional and fun game before going too far into the neverending optimization pit (there is always some optimization you could do).

      @@officialdeadendgames thank you for explaining, you're 100% right working on fun factor is more important and your implementation should have good performance, I just was worried that you use the bullet mesh for collision calculations but you clearly know what you're doing

    4:06 If Bethesda can make millions of dollars off of games with broken assets, it's okay for you to have some slightly off-center collision boxes. (You can always patch it)

      No, the collision boxes have to be in those exact positions or they don't like up with the buttons when interacting. I think it has to do with the way unreal engine translates the 2D mouse movement to 3D space.

    ted the cave is one of the scariest creepypastas due to the fact that it involves something unknown about a cave, and among those of us who have studied, we know that caves have a supernatural aura. Very good game friend, greetings from Spain

      Thanks for the interest in my game. Since this game is only in an alpha state I still plan on adding more to the Ted the Caver gameplay (around 5-10 more minutes of gameplay). I already know of the next 2-3 stories I will add and am working on getting in contact with some other creepypasta writers for rights to their stories. I agree that what made the original Ted the Caver creepypasta terrifying is the unknown of the creature in the cave with them. That's the main element I wanted to capture in my game. I keep having a game with no jumpscares or monsters would make creating a creepy atmosphere more challenging but I hope I can live up to the original story with this game.

      There's some stuff I'm keeping very secret so I'll just go over what will be immediately playable on launch day (which is like, probably gonna be another 2 years or so). Multiplayer (obviously since that's what I'm working on right now). I'll probably have a total of 10 maps on launch. I want a good range of small and medium maps. I plan on having the basic FPS game modes like Search & Destroy, Hardpoint, Domination, Free-For-All and Team Deathmatch. I also am working on a completely original game mode but I'll touch on that a bit more in a future video. The campaign will be a more gritty and realistic take on the Vietnam war with you playing as the average marine. You will be apart of of 1st battalion 7th marines for the majority of the game but I do take a small bit of writer's liberty by having you also play in the 2nd battalion 7th marines. I have kept as much historical accuracy as possible when creating the story for the campaign and plan on continuing with the historical accuracy with the assets used. I've done hundreds of hours of research reading, watching and compiling information about the war. I'm planning on a World at War style campaign to give an idea of the grittiness I'm going for (maybe even more intense than WaW). finally, I will also have a co-op missions mode like spec ops from the original modern warfare 2 and survival mode similar to the one in the original modern warfare 3. On top of this I also want to include a new game plus for the campaign where you can play as a squad leader from the start and you'll have to do squad management on top of fighting a war. And, as stated previously, I have some planned secret modes that I cannot and will not speak of at anytime (besides giving hints here and there). for more specifics of the multiplayer I have a list of 28 weapons in total. I also plan on adding a perk system similar to Call of Duty's and killstreaks. I have other ideas floating around for game modes and whatnot but for now that is all I have planned. Depending on time restraints, hype and my abilities as a programmer some of these plans might not come to fruition upon release but I plan on supporting the game fully for at least 2 years. After 2 years I will put support for the game on the back burner and begin work on some other game ideas I have in store. If my game/these videos begin to gain more hype/viewers that are interested in the game, I might hold a live Q&A session to answer more questions about the game. But all of that is wishful thinking and something for future me to worry about. I appreciate your enthusiasm towards my game dev journey. I hope I am able to make a product that I and anyone who is watching these videos can be proud of. Thank you for the support.

    Nice work man. Whatever you do just dont give up. Ive been trying to make a game for years, ultimately giving up and trying again months/years later. Its only now, 10 years later that i actually have something that i really like and can work with. My point is though, if i had never given up i wouldve been much further ahead than i am now 😂 good luck man! Ill be watching to see the progress!
