    Hey, just stumbled on your video so forgive me if you answered these questions in previous videos! Is there a reason you are not also contributing to your portfolio monthly? What did you base your sector allocation percentages on? Is there a reason you prefer individual stock picking of just buying a market cap allocated ETF like VOO? Or as you are pretty dividend focused, something like SCHD? Love the spreadsheets btw! I'm a big spreadsheet person myself!

    • @enduringfinances
      @enduringfinances 18 วันที่ผ่านมา

      No worries! I stopped contributing monthly a while ago. I went through a big career change and needed more money to get by. I based my sector allocation on personal research and preferences. I wanted a semi-risky portfolio with a large focus on dividend yield. I screened for long standing high quality companies who have a history of increasing dividend yield and strong performance. This is not my only investment portfolio. I have two others that are based on long-term investments in ETFs and mutual funds. I enjoy selecting the individual stocks in this portfolio because I enjoy doing it. I recommend other use ETFs as a primary way to invest themselves.

    I have a question, I'm not a dividend investor as I live outside of USA so I have 30% Withholding Tax Rate (From Source no way to avoid it) Why you don't focus more on Total Return, instead of "Dividend" Investing, ETFs Like $QQQ & $MGK or even $VOO out performed most of dividend stocks and looking how things going and earnings estimation I can see Technology is still in growing phase. What I'm trying to say is dividends once made sense but not anymore. Stocks used to pay great yields but no fast growing is paying this much any more, what companies pays 3-4% and still growing fast? almost none. That not to discourage from dividend investing, but might give you a perspective. Much love <3

    • @enduringfinances
      @enduringfinances 26 วันที่ผ่านมา

      That is a very good question! I have additional investment accounts outside of this stock portfolio that are based on long-term growth. The reason I am focusing on dividends with this account is based on personal preference and I enjoy getting my hands into it. The thing I really enjoy most about dividend income is a lot are considered "qualified" which means I don't have to pay taxes on them. Last year that was more than 60% of my total dividend income. So the idea is instead of selling stocks to withdraw money from the account and having to pay capital gains tax (here in the US) I can simply take the dividends earnings out and pay a smaller amount on taxes. (That is until one day in the far, far future I close my portfolio down or die.)

    Our October and Nov budget took a front pan to the face. Hurricane Helene and Milton flooded Florida Oct 9-10. My house had 6” of water in it and just moved back in Saturday the Dec 7th…. 🤦🏼‍♂️ the only goals that we accomplished in that two month time frame was was to reconfigure our 401k into higher paying dividend ETFs like spyi, qqqi and jepq for more income.. glad your thanksgiving went well and glad you’re walking everyday friend

    JUST an eye opening reminder or new info to people.... donating plasma is considered taxable income. Some places will give you a 1099 others won't, but you HAVE TO PAY TAXES on that ~$40+. So, put ~25% of that money into a savings becuase you will be paying for it!

    LOL I dont know how your video got into my list. Anyway let me first give you congrats in making regular contributions and be willing to anaylze and choose individual stocks. I hhope you recognize this is NOT a typical year, and you shoul not be expecting the returns that we are seeing this year always happending. Remember the S&P over the long term grew at about 9%. So when it YTD is is over 25% you can expect some years it sill also go down. At that time, look at it as a time when shares are on sale and you get more shares for same money. But continue to invest. Another comment I woul make is you mentioned target date funds. THey have many problems and I do not recommend them. Here are the basic problems. First they usually are funds of funds, so you pay the higher fees than a simple index ETF or mutual fund. But the bigger problem is related to how and when they change the portfolio mix. THey change it based on YOUR age not anything related to what interest rates are doing at that time. So, when interst rates are rising, and the value of a bond is therefore falling (look up the inverse relationship of bonds if you dont know what I mean) you wil see that the NAV of the funds will be going down. Think about just 2 years ago when the Fed quickly rose rates. Go look at NAVs for target date funds based on years foe people older than you are and see what they did. They lost money, but if the fund had just kept with equities they would hve done great. Because of the higher fees., they get reccomend. But in almost all cases, for those who dont want to pay attention to the market an low cost S&P index funnd like VOO or SPY would give you better long term results. Hope this was helpful. Let me know. And if you do, perhaps I will subscribe and help you become a huge YT influencer. Regardless good luck, from someone older than you but has benefited from long term investing.

      It's called diversity. It means you don't run the risk of a big loss due to specific stocks or specific sectors crashing. Actually this portfolio is very un-diverse to me. I invest in thousands of stocks using ETFs that track indexes. Also this portfolio is underperforming compared to a benchmark such as the S&P 500.

      I think I understand what you are asking. Members who work for a Logistics Partner will be paid by the Logistics Partner. This could be by paycheck, direct deposit, or a different service. Lime is no longer using workers directly through the Lime Supply App. They moved away from that these past few years.

    My first time looking at this TH-cam channel. Would be nice to know why you picked the stocks you did. And when you knew the value was good to buy them. Maybe that is explained somewhere but can't find it. Seems like these are a collection of really good stocks. But a good stock still could have a very over inflated price. So when you buy the stock affects success.

      Thanks for you feedback! I will need to start a series where I talk about why I like the companies I do. As far as pricing goes, I am less concerned with the up and down of prices in the short term. In the long run it is impossible to time the market perfectly but I find it better to simply invest when I have the money to do so. My focus in mainly on the dividends the companies pay out and not on the market value of the stock price.

    In Sanfransico, California, they hire you as a contractor, they pay you $3 dollars per scooter, just loading it from the warehouse and putting it on the street, but you still have to pay the 22% taxes 2024

    Awesome work. Will you ever invest in physical real estate? Are you a 6 figure earner? What is your savings rate percentage?

      I may one day invest in physical real estate. Right now I have REIT stocks that do from a small scale. I am planning on renting out my own house later on this year.
