I’ve been a huge Coheed fan since Second Stage Turbine Blade (yes I’m old) & have been playing the Arkham games since Arkham City’s release, never knew Coheed had a song written for it 😭 just replayed Arkham City a month ago & don’t recall hearing a single song on it lol

My favourite album of all time and Manson s Magnus opus in my opinion! 19 tracks all killer no filler! Every breath every riff every sound every lyric is iconic ! 100000/10 ! For new fans listen to the love song , target audience, President dead ,and then for more broody beautiful Manson classics, lamb of god, coma black 🖤

The killing of the kids always pushed me out of the story. I can't maintain empathy for protagonists that would do that. It ruins my suspension of disbelief. Also It seems like a cheap lazy attempt at emotional impact (like when they try to make the audience hate the badguy by showing him harm a dog). But the rest of the fictional universe and the music are so interesting, I am trying again to get into it.

Idk if its something that would interest you, but you should really check out "the hazards of love" by the Decemberists. Its a concept album/rock opera with a really weird story, and really amazing music and singing. Its kind of folk-ish with some rock elements, but its a really good album with a really interesting, kind of dark and twisted story. Its really good.

While the plot of the Triptych is often dissected and discussed by fans, it should be noted that little has been explained by the band and even that must be taken with a grain of salt. For example, Manson had initially conceived Mechanical Animals as a sequel to Antichrist Superstar, following The Worm after its fall from power. However, when Holy Wood was released the story was now to be read in an inversed order and suddenly Mechanical Animals was a prequel to Antichrist Superstar rather than its sequel. This shows that the actual story was not conceived linearly and ideas that initially represented or referred to one thing, may now have a meaning entirely different from that which was originally intended. I like the fan theory saying that Can I Play With Madness is just a trolling song added in because you'd think album focused so much on the number 7 would only have 7 songs. CIPWM certainly seems the odd one among other 7 concept songs.

So it seems like who watches the watchmen is about how crappy the town is after (I assume) killing the brothers’ mother. And how they handled everything. Maybe the rage of the brothers. Easter sounds like it’s about Cecilia’s mother, running away from something/someone at 17 with child. And then 78 seems to be Jesse talking about how HE wrote the story and created the characters to hurt Martha for leaving him. But I don’t think he knew he could do that at that point? So maybe he wrote the story spitefully and it happened to come true? Or something idk. Because the song features sounds of tools and machinery. As if he is “creating” the machine. I thought throughout the whole comic that the brothers were referring to Jesse as their god. Which it still kinda could. Again reference the third album, where he basically considers himself a god. Idk.

My interpretation is that the Goblins die, and actually what the boik does is basically a "big crunch" bringing tne universe into a singularity "it all ends as it begins, infinity repeats again" and lihes from earlier hinting that "eventually it comes back around but let's pretend" about it being the end if infinity. i have s;mu ither thoughts on it that are more speculative but I DO think they die at the end at least temporarily. Also while not concept albums, i find that some of their other albums slot into small sections and fill iut the lore further, but if course not as much as these concepts. I also am curious if there are multiple dimensions they travel through because it seems alluded to they have gone through many dimensions in their travels. Love the lore videos again though i wish more people would treat the lore seriously!!

If anyone comes up to you and asks about the bands you are wearing, you should be able to have a decent conversation about them, if not then you are just wearing them for show which is being a fakeass!
