What if I wanted to keep the wood natural. I want to darken the wood with stain first then use white paint over the stencil Do you think using stain as the base coat will be okay?

Thanks for the info! I just painted a board that had some texture to the surface, I bet this would have helped - it had some bleed from the stencil. I'll try again with your tip! Plus the make up sponge was a great idea!

What do you do if you are painting lettering on a surface with multiple boards side by side to keep it from bleeding in the cracks?

Just curious do you always intentional add more wax? I know you have 24 ounces total which would be 1.5 lb of wax but is it good to always add a couple more grams or am I off on my calculations completely lol

So basically we can use any thick jar or vessel?

I melt cheese wax in a crock pot with a liner, probably would work for this as well.
