    You are showing the wrong point for the Endeavor Transition. According to the NOTAM, it is where I-39 and the railroad track meet. The incorrect point you are showing is a bridge near Packwaukee which is 1 to 2 miles NE of the correct point. Refer to the video on the EAA website which shows the correct point being over flown by the plane in the video.

    I know I can print off the entire NOTAM but I’m curious what it says about if you have to do a go around

    • @flyelectricmonarch
      @flyelectricmonarch 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Great question. Each runway has the procedures listed on the NOTAM. 09/27 & 18 states If a go-around is needed, notify ATC immediately for resequencing instructions. 36 states If a go-around is needed, notify ATC immediately and do not continue past ATC Tower. If unable to notify ATC, make a right turn to the southeast prior to ATC tower for resequencing. - Basically, you need to stay out of the way of aircraft on 09/27. Make sure to read through all the procedures so you're ready.

    • @fsodn
      @fsodn หลายเดือนก่อน

      This has come up a few times since 2023. My take: the Notice kinda assumes that if you're given a go-around, you'll have immediate instructions. Last year, in at least two instances on the arrival weekend, a bunch of pilots on base or final were just given the instructions "go back to Fisk" and turned loose. Steve of "Flight Chops" channel and Josh of "Aviation 101" made videos last about their experiences of that. I made a video a couple of weeks ago on my channel summarizing my planning based on that (called "what does go back to Fisk mean"); Steve also put out a video on his channel just a few days ago summarizing it as well. I haven't talked to Josh, but Steve and I both think no explicit go-around instructions are a major gap in the Notice instructions, given what happened last year. I've listened to a couple of people responsible for the Notice, and they said "yeah, we've had pressure to put in go-around, but we need to make sure the instructions are applicable in all situations" which I think is avoiding the point. In both of Steve's videos, he outlines what I think would be a perfect couple of sentence addition to the procedures, which is basically that if something happens in final sequencing and you don't receive explicit instructions, fly the VFR DEPARTURE for THAT RUNWAY all the way out of the class-D, and then start the VFR procedure completely over. If tower gives you a nice go-around and resequences you (as happened to me in 2018, for instance) great, but if not, then there's an established procedure to fall back on.

    From past visits I've noted that Thursday morning is the day that most fly-in pilots leave. I believe it is to allow for 1 hour of departures Thursday morning.

    • @fsodn
      @fsodn หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah. I wouldn't say "most", because the grounds are packed the second half of the week, but a lot of the very early arrivals tend to leave Thursday morning because they've seen 3 airshows and the Wednesday night airshow, and I guess to avoid the very busy departures the second Saturday and Sunday. From what some people have said regarding this Notice, apparently last year, 2023, partially due to incoming weather, Thursday morning departures were a complete hot mess and people sat on the ground way too long, so they put the extra time just for departures into the schedule.

    We have family with a cabin on one of the nearby lakes. I have been to the show numerous times, but never landed at OSH. However, I have landed several times at Appleton for the show and the service has always been first class. But, I always wanted to try landing at OSH and was concerned about the procedures. However, your video made it seem pretty straightforward. Thanks!

    • @flyelectricmonarch
      @flyelectricmonarch 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Appleton always does a great job. You could always land in Appleton, then wait til Oshkosh airspace clears up a bit too, usually later in the day. Wisconsin cabins on a lake are one of my favorite things about WI! Thanks for sharing!

      It's not that bad. We did it last year, my first time to OSH. We stopped at KDLL and topped off our fuel then got in line. All you have to do is follow instructions and watch out for the idiots that don't, no shortage of those.

      Hi, go to FAAsafety.gov. There's a free course there for Part 61 pilots. If you're current, you just need to go through that course. If you're not current, you'll have to take the test. That course plus the FAA Remote Pilot Study guide (8082) will give you everything you need.
