The Undertones
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 6 ม.ค. 2023
The Undertones formed in Derry, 1976, the result of five friends (John O’Neill, Damian O’Neill, Feargal Sharkey, Billy Doherty & Michael Bradley) learning how to play basic rock and roll. Rehearsing in Damian’s bedroom eventually led to the band recording John O’Neill’s ‘Teenage Kicks’ in 1978, a record that became a favourite of John Peel. Over the next four years they released more pop gems like `Get Over You’, ‘Here Comes The Summer’, ‘Jimmy Jimmy’, ‘You’ve Got My Number (Why Don’t You Use It!)’, ‘Wednesday Week’, ‘My Perfect Cousin’ & ‘It’s Going To Happen!’. They also recorded four highly acclaimed LPs with Feargal, toured the USA with The Clash and headlined several tours in those five years. In fact, they almost enjoyed the life of professional musicians. In 1983 Feargal left the band to pursue a solo career and the remaining members decided to call it a day. In 1999 the band reconvened, with fellow Derryman Paul McLoone replacing Feargal Sharkey. They continue to perform today.

The Undertones - It's Going to Happen! (Official HD Video)
มุมมอง 781K13 ปีที่แล้ว
You are watching the official video for "It's Going To Happen!" by the Undertones. A typically energetic performance from Derry's finest on this top 20 single from 1981. The ambitious video recreates a silent movie filming set complete with the kind of bad puns that showcase the band's childlike sense of humour. The song though is a dark tale of friends `too slow to notice what's wrong'. The vi...
The Undertones - Wednesday Week

A slower than normal song for Derry's finest the Undertones but lead singer Feargal's tremulous heartfelt vocals and the band's catchy way with a melody and a lyric are all present and correct on this number 11 hit from 1980. The Undertones - There Goes Norman

2 minutes 22 seconds of classic pop punk. Never released as a single but a typically catchy joyous slice of life with the Undertones filmed in one of the band's bedrooms. We know who Norman was but we're not allowed to tell you. The Undertones - The Love Parade
มุมมอง 98K13 ปีที่แล้ว
A 60s garage / Motown feel for this classic single from the band's last album with lead singer Feargal Sharkey in fine form. Less punky than the Undertones of 1979 but this bittersweet tale of a failed relationship still packs a punch and even includes a parade of tanks in the otherwise typically 80s video. Download their album Teenage Kicks on iTunes : apple.co/29ixys6 Buy their album Teenage ...
The Undertones - My Perfect Cousin (Official Video)
มุมมอง 6M13 ปีที่แล้ว
One of the great pop singles of the early 80s with the kind of lines `he's got a fur-lined sheepskin jacket, my ma said it cost a packet', `he thinks that I'm a cabbage 'cos I hate University challenge' and the immortal `his mother bought him a synthesizer, got the Human League into advise her' that today's pop stars can only dream of writing. And the video is ace look out for the famous subbut...

The only song John Peel ever played twice back to back. Nuff said. Oh, also played at his funeral.

I wonder if perfect cousin Kevin was complaining about perfect cousin Feargal as well. It seems that their parents were playing each other off against each other.
