We Were Rappers
มุมมอง 2904 หลายเดือนก่อน
Back in the late 80's to mid 90's, my friend Rick Rosenberg and I were part of 2 local rap bands (Davenport Crew, AKA "DPC" & The U-Dogs) hailing out of New Rochelle, New York. During the episode, we walk down memory lane to share our own personal stories on how we got into hip hop, what inspired us to become rappers and the trials and tribulations of trying to land a record deal.
Toe pick lol
Great job boys! Wish I could be there. Timmy, I saw your buddy Charles Marino on the news the other day. The same backdrop as your podcast and great commentary on the southern border situation. I was much more knowledgeable of his commentary after watching your interview.
@@timconnolly4105 we will miss you my friend!
You had me at Mackinac Island. I was born in MI late 50's, left when I was a toddler and returned to live in Manistee with my late hubby after we were retired and found ourselves as empty nesters. My sister lived in Manistee so when we visited we knew that's where we wanted to be. We lived there for 6 wonderful years. That was when we took our first trip to Mackinac Island. This podcast was fascinating and I never heard of it. I'm gonna go on Amazon and check out that book and look forward to his next one. What's an old retired woman to do but get hooked on True Crime, lol.
@@mzzbevcreates thanks so much !
Great episode, love true crime stories. One note, you need to boost your mic a little Tim, you're just a little low
@@biigwigg appreciate the feedback- we def had audio issues I tried to fix in post so great feedback
Wow, this guy knows his stuff. Great episode on an important topic.
PS - you should ask the Commander to send your podcast link to the Thursday hockey crew. Time to build a following...
Great idea - I also have a few things hockey related so stay tuned! How’s that for a teaser! lol
A great follow-up to the Rap session. What an informative guest who clearly has his fingers on the pulse of this issue. Too often, either political party's bombastic language on the crisis makes it a tough listen. I found Charles to be 1) obviously an expert with the background chops to re-enforce his commentary and 2) able to articulate the problem in a matter-of-fact approach and solutions without all the bombast and over-exaggeration Fine job Timothy!
Thanks Tim! Charles knows his stuff for sure. Appreciate your comments!!
