I made a dice from stainless steel and copper cable leftovers
I found an old earth cable in my house so I decided to make a nice gaming dice out of it. For this project i used only the lathe and the polishing mashine, no mill, no markings.

I turn a huge stainless steel nut into a beautiful lighter
This project was very challenging and pushed my small machines, especially the mini lathe, near or even a bit beyond their limits. I tried to turn a huge M42 stainless steel nut into a beautiful lighter, but it was much harder than expected and took many days of hard work for the lathe. Weights: Raw Nut: 563g Lighter 167g Cap 24g So I got approximately 400g of stainless steel chips from the nut...
How to make perfect matching copper soft jaws
For my current larger project I needed some soft jaws for the lathe because I don't want to damage the surface of a part. Easy and cheap project also for absolute beginners.
I push my 40year old mill to 24000rpm (12x speed!)
Perhaps this upgrade for the 42 years old Emco mill is a bit overkill. Now it is capable of running at a speed of 24k RPM, but it sounds like a starting jet engine and you don't want to be close to it. Many thanks to #vevor for the spindle and the vfd. Making of a special cut knurling tool
Last year I bought some different cut knurling wheels for my mini lathe. The original holders for the wheels are very expensive, so I made my own one. Now I 'm able to knurl in any angle I want (if I have the right wheels ;) ). Straight, fishbone and also 45 degree cross knurling. Many thanks to www.baer.tools for their extrem drill sets: 1mm-6mm: baer.tools/de/gewindeschneider/gewindenormen/sp...
Laser metal cutting and color engraving at home - Atezr L2 24W
A few weeks ago I got the L2 24W diode laser from Atezr and was curious if such a laser can only work with wood or also some serious material like metal. So i pushed it to the limits while cutting and color engraving hardened steel and finally got a little custom radius gauge. For this project i used the Atezr L2 24W diode laser, my lathe, the emco mill, the drill press and some other machines....
Mini Lathe - simple carriage stop
In this video I make a simple but very useful tool everyone should have for the lathe. The carriage stop makes life with the machine much easier. A big thank you to www.stahlhalter24.de for helping me with some more tool holders for my AXA quick change tool post!

I’m getting My Mechanic vibes 🤔
You need to use surface grinder
You might hate me but what about dice that are truly balanced, maybe by altering the diameter of the pips or the material so the mass removed is equal on all sides and the mass added(more less or equal to what was removed) is equal on all sides.
No hate here ;). I will do a test with different materials dice and also las vegas dice to test if the little unbalance really makes a difference.
Hat bei mir zur Ausbildung gehört
Very beautiful, and a great show of patience and skill. Thanks for sharing.
Loss project
Exclusive dice👍
Wait for the next few ;)
How many hours it took to make one😮
Without filming something between 10-20h
Awesome bro.
Now, you could test whether your die is balanced or not ;)
Work in Progress ;)
It's beautiful, but it doesn't work because the edges are sharp. It was necessary to first grind the ball and then remove the edges on it, then the edges would be rounded like on the original cubes and it would start to roll when thrown.
But the weight between 6 and 1 would be uneven since the materials have different weights, that weighted nat 1
It’ll look more beautiful if you took titanium instead of steel ❤
The title states you made "A" Dice, "dice" is the plural form of the word "die" Dice means more than one
Does anyone else think that copper wire in the thumbnail looks delicious? Like some sort of exotic fruit.
Great attention to detail, nicely done!
It'd be interesting to make these out of a material that can be anodised and make some Grime Dice (they are colour coded)
Nice work
Funny when you think about needing 21 pieces to fill a six numbered dice Ha!!
Can i but it i really like it
You should acid etch it to get the dots to stand out better
Next time use brass instead of copper
Did I really just watch 13 minutes of this 🤐 I feel like the drilling would have been fast in a press
Finaly i can make the dice i lose from manopily 😂😂
Beautiful and great lathe work with the spacers. When I was young and waiting for the CNC machines to finish, I would hop on a lathe and make crosses out of different metals. I made them in 4 pieces, vertical, two horizontal and a pin to connect them. Milling out the two horizontal to fit the outer diameter of the vertical, made it seem like one piece once pressed together..
You made a die. Dice is the plural of die. Does the expression "The die is cast" sound familiar?
Isn't the word "dice" plural? So saying a dice is like saying a geese?

I did wonder why nobody else was hammering him for this.
Well done!👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻Wunderschön!👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Vielen Dank!
Very nice but it will not weigh equally on all faces and will affect the odds...
Very stylish and I love the way the copper spots are quite subtle.
i like this a lot! very elegant 👍🍺🇬🇧
Awesome job ..now make some in platinum and red gold
Im working on some more materials, but i would have to save money for a while for a platin/gold one 😅
@randomtechnician that's would be something special ..but what you mad is awesome
@@carlubambi5541 Thank you!
Nice but how did you balance it
Next video 😉
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻🇩🇪
Would have been so much easier using a mill to make the square and then drill and ream the holes. Then I would have installed the copper and turned the sides on a lathe for the finish. I would have chamfered the edges on a mill and not with a file to make it more uniform. But hey, I’m just a manual machinist who’s been running these machines for 30 years.
Nice work, but is it balanced?
I will test it in the next video
