2024/11/01 Cw contact to a new country to me, Burkina Faso dxcc 480 Africa continent, cq zone 35, work with a hygain av-640 vertical ameritron amp AL-1500, DXPEDITION will be active till nov, 11, 2024, the pile is are huge, conditions towards the s. east pa. marginal.

the cq ww dx ssb was off the chart this year, the best participation and condition I have seen in 20 years, it was balls to the wall, I work about 3 new countries, gave me a break from ft8, it was very nice to work phone again, cant wait to do it again next year,

Fernando de noronja South America and malaga spain with Javier . very nice conditions at night on the lower bands and 10 meters during the day are crazy,

2 meter tropo action has been low for me, just got the watt meter that could handle the power and ill be testing it with the amp, see what I could get out of it, is a self protection unit so Pedro can't over drive it, it will come handy, I have burnt out many amps in the past,

I just got this fine amp is a 350 watt plus amp for 2 meters, to go with my icom 9700, will be use for some fm simplex, cw, and ssb, made in Taiwan heard is a reputable company, although I never heard about them, lets see how it goes its not a cheap price, I always like to take chances with new products,

just another boring video of me trying to be a ham radio operator, working the 2024 cq RTTY Contest, in use is the ameritron AL-1500 known as Big AL, the microkeyer sound card the FX775 watt meter and monitoring system, windows 11 for the N3FJP Contest software, and the Palstar AT4K Antenna tuner to keep it all from releasing the smoke, work only a few hours but enough to work over 20 countries...

been a ham for most of my life but new to uhf/vhf and d-star, I'm retire now so I could play with all these modes, and publish stupid videos , and get fatter! unboxing the new and complicated icom 9700 is fun, setting up a quick antenna for it was not that much fun, the close proximity to my hf antenna is killing my 30mhz and 20 MHz bands, so relocation is coming when the weather gets a lot coo...
