Good one Scott!
Nice stache
@@machoprotegido5607 and it will be back next spring.
You look younger with a clean face. I always shave mine off to get rid of the white.
@@trr5291 the white is a desktop reminder of time.
Interesting shave Scott
Glad you kept the moustache Scott, it looks great, so hope it's a keeper.
Prices for new razors and quality? $30, a safe risk. $8, expect a bad or unsatisfying risk. But between $10 and $15? I cannot yet guess. Still more for me to learn.
Far too many different variations to building a lather. I too use a bowl to begin building my lathers - INCLUDING for a face lather.
Another way to keep three-piece razor maintained, what I do, is rinse the head pieces and dry with a thin cloth towel; also use the towel to wipe the threading of the bolt of the top cap. Twist a cotton tipped stick into the threading hole of the handle, and then reverse-twist back out. Now, everything is clean and dry. A very very long time will be able to pass before any more cleaning using detergents would be needed. There may be some buildup of soap scum in the rinse holes of the base plate, very easily removed expected with something like the proxabrush, or something.
I cannot say that mixing vinegar with liquid dishwashing detergent would not work, but the acetic acid from the vinegar will add hydronium ions back to the anionic surfactants in the dishwashing detergent. I would not mix the two materials without some very specific technical reasoning. Better would be if you tried the two SEPARATELY, to find what each product does on its own.
Rockwell 6 C/S? (I’m an occasional viewer rather than a regular one)
@petekadenz9465 welcome brother.
3D printing.
@petekadenz9465 yes it was, but no more.
Great shave, man this razorrock brush looks very nice
Have a great day
I like the very light touch you have. Sometimes I am a bit heavy.
@vlstpt sometimes so am I.
Cant wait for kalypso in EU❤😊
Great video Scott
Great shave Scott!
Good review as always ymmv. Mild to sharp for me…. Astra->GSB->Minora->platinums->Nacet Plats are my go to blade. GSB go in aggressive razors since they tug in med to mild. I don’t like the SS minora but like the platinum minoras. Astras aren’t usable. I have a thick coarse beard. Have a good one.
@@RonnieYates thanks for you insight.
Right you are! Wet shaving is all about enjoyment. BTW, what is your opinion of the My Blades Silver?
@@BartBuzz they are too mild for me.
@@brownbaggentleman7509 Interesting. My favorite go-to blades are Nacet, Lab Blue, Astra Green, and Wilkinson Sword (India). For me, those My Blades Silver were comparable. The blades I don't get are the new Rex Platinum. At $33/100, I don't see how they can compete with blades that are half (or less) the price.
Great shave Scott! It's just like you say, if you're not enjoying it something is off but it's all about having a good time! Cheers my friend
Thank you sir, God is the only way
And lo and behold..u have 700 subs already..Congrats...
Nice video..and love thes small sample tubs
I will use a sample of that soap tomorrow. I have the 6c and it is one of my favourite razors. Great shave!
cut the tabs off of the blade
Loved the gear that you used today, i'm thinking of buying a bunch of sample soaps because I like variety!
@@seanstapelfeld Maggards Razors is the place for samples
cool! Great video!Are you interested in collaborating with us to review our new beard care kit?
@@NovtwentyOfficial I would be interested.
Cutie
How do you like your captains shave bowl? I was actually looking at it the other day! Great video my friend
@seanstapelfeld the copper bowl is probably my favorite but you can't leave soap in it.
😍
But look at those sweet little eyes!
5:40 The thing is, most multipack offerings don't hit on a range of classic, well regarded blades, but often obscure labels. I would like to see, for example, a pack with Feather, Persona (and then, which version?) Wilkinson, Astra, Bic Chrome, Russian Nacet, and maybe these Crystals. I'd throw in some Chinese blades, too. I'm trying some out and they may have some merit.
Though not seen whole video yet, I would have recommended a sharper blade, like Feather Hi-Stainless blade.
That cereal bowl from WalMart looks like the right size and shape for use as a shaving bowl! Maybe a little too wide. Less expensive alternatives are also possible.
I've been enjoying my Parker Solo Edge. I like it better than the Leaf Twig and Thorn. Got a great shave with a Wizamet blade. So nice. Shaved with the TOOBS grapefruit last night. Smells so good.
@@stefanpuffer I have not tried the Wizamet... a bew goal.
My apology, I call it the iridium blade.
@stefanpuffer the TOBS Graoefruit rivals anything from PAA BUT try PAA Dapper Doc, my all time favorite.
The Parker solo looks really nice,
Nice review...I'd still use a DE razor instead of this...the blade loading and aligning it perfectly would be too much of a hassle I feel with these SE razors and can be a hit or miss
Matt at Razor Emporium said the compared to his old favorite "Perma Sharp", the REX blade is "a tad sharper and a tad smoother".
@robertross8565 it is smoother and sharper than the perma sharp IMO.
That razor has a very futuristic look, it almost gives me blade runner vibes. Thanks for sharing my friend
Despite the nick, you managed a close shave. And you won't get a bad shave with TOBS. Grapefruit and Lime Zest are my favorites. While I'm not a fan of SE razors, I do find the Parker Solo to be a bit smoother than my Leaf Twig. But to be fair, I haven't used either that much. The Rockwell 6S is my daily driver.
god bless you Sir, great video
brass just has a.. certain ring to it.
Great information my friend! Thank you
Is that the bulldog handle from RazoRock?
@patwickgriff sorry I don't remember but it might be.
Great video Scott! My go to trimmers is the new Braun Series 9 beard trimmer, it’s pricey, it’s on sale where I’m from, Dublin Ireland it’s down from €150 to €95, it’s excellent!
@deanking4711 thanks for the tip.
That's a nice upgrade to the Artifact. I should get a handle like that for mine. Your shave inspired me to use mine tomorrow. Good to hear there was no major damage from Debby...except to the pocketbook to have the tree removed.
@BartBuzz enjoy it!
Great info. Thanks for the tip. I’ll try that myself.
Funny how a scent can transport us back in time. Honeysuckle certainly seems to have done that for you with middle school. That is part of why I really enjoy different fragrances.
Very good Scott, I will try some eventually, but it’s the shipping too the uk 🇬🇧 good review brother Have a great weekend Atb Paul
Scott...watch most of your videos from India...thanks for the giveaways..hope to win one
