That was an incredible performance. I hope people hearing it live, realized what they were hearing.
Una perdida iirreparable, el artista y la persona de Antonio Meneses. Le vi tocar las rococó en el Lincoln Center en los años 90. Luego lo salude en el camerino; gentil, conversó un momento con atención.
I especially liked your treatment of the finale, very joyful and melodious. Popper always has good harmonies with his double stops; here even more dramatic with double stops on two cello’s simultaneously 🤙🤙🤙🤙
HORRIBLE.
PATHETIC.
Nancy was my cello teacher between (I think) 1990 and 1994. What a musician, what a woman! I really enjoyed this interview and have learned so many things about Nancy. Thank you.
So Excellent
So much craft! Wonderful!
Your story about having to stop and restart...that happened to me as well, after my ex-husband announced he was leaving me. I then had to go play a very difficult recital program and had suddenly just stopped. I had to start after that measure. My fingers refused to work until I started after that spot! That had never happened to me before. The critic was so kind ans spoke of the intense week of work I had with our orchestra, but never mentioned my having to stop. I took some summer lessons in Arizona, with my friend Marcy Rosen's cello teacher, Gordon Epperson. I do hope we connect and talk....maybe on Messenger? All my best to you! ❤
Wow!!!! You started at 17???? Holy!!! Wild! And you are a horsewoman!!! I had my soul horse...an Arabian mare named Kyla!!! I left you a message in the comments of your Kodaly performance on TH-cam! I talk about my friendship with Jackie. I had a masterclass with Rostropovich...Starker said I could study with him after I worked with Tsutsumi here in London. I also had an invite to study in Switzerland with Fournier but ai ended up studying in Düsseldorf with Antonio Janigro. I just lost my husband and have not played my cello in years. I am a visual artist and have made several portraits of Jackie. Covid put a stop to a lot of passions. Taking care of my dying husband was a powerful experience. I am on this spiritual journey now...so many amazing experiences! My husband has been communicating with me from the other side! Truly awesome! I so hope we connect! I post on FB a lot. I will check to see if you are there! Love this interview!!! I absolutely love you! Beautiful soul! ❤
ICI is the best!!!!
bellissimo!!
oh my god😧😧😧
This is such a comfort on any instrument. But wow. Those slides. Brings tears to my eyes.
This is incredibly special. Thank you so much. I was rivited by the journey. It connects the generations, all the Cellists carrying their DNA out there. Former student of Zara Nelsova. Thank You.
Terrific interview. I wonder if Nancy Green had any lessons with Harvey Shapiro, or if not, what she thought of his playing, since he was at Juilliard at that time.
I think what she recounted that Goritski said about the Sixth Suite Gavottes (and by extension the other dances) - i.e., visualizing in sound how they would be choreographed, is absolutely right on.
@@axelsohn1454 shes my teacher and she was jacqueline du pre's student

What’s wrong with the sound? Very aquatic.

Beautifully done. Superb teacher, great musician; to actually be the teacher we wish we’d had is a demanding job!
I especially enjoyed her stories about Dupres. What an amazing journey she has had with the cello!
This is a fabulous interview! Thank you for producing this series!
This has been wonderful! So useful, informative, and entertaining. Both of these women are very special human beings and musicians.
Phoebe Carrai for a future video?
Thank you so much, my daughter and I are big fans. Such personal reflections on playing and on life.
Fabulous interview.
I am loving this wise and entertaining conversation between these outstanding artists who happen to be women.
What a wonderful and rich interview with one and only Nancy Green. I do appreciate her honest and real reflection of life as it comes our way. Her rich wisdom is something to behold. This is a must listen for young person who is aspired to a life of calling.
This is the first one of our series of interviews with distinguished women cellists. Look out for our next interview with Magdalena Sas and Saeunn Thorsteinsdóttir
I never understood the “master” not bringing along his or her instrument to demonstrate. Fortunately doesn’t happen very often in master classes. Rostropovich master classes were just the same if he plays anything he plays the piano during them. I don’t get it. I’ve enjoyed hundreds of Finkels videos so don’t get me wrong just a personal preference.
Great!
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
