Bowling by the Dots
มุมมอง 1.3M11 ปีที่แล้ว
How to use the Approach Dots and Targeting Arrows on the Lane. This tutorial is intended for the novice to learn where to place their feet, what to look at (the targeting arrows and approach dots), and to learn to be consistent.
It would be helpful if there was a video like this for Left-Handers!
Very Good!!!😀
Okay-- maybe. There a lot of people who pin bowl. I don't believe that is bad. I spot bowl. That's how I learned. My problem is that I got out of shape and out of practice. Now that I'm retirement age I lost the form I used to have, 30 years ago. If you have helpful tops please offer them.
Yo this is awesome, thank you !
What happened to this youtuber he makes very informative information and I learnt a lot from it. Such a waste that you are not uploading more content... You take care and hope You come back to make more videos...
Using your strike ball Arrow works great for my left side spare pins like the 2-4-7-8 Pins. But the right side spare Pins 3-6-9-10 requires standing far to the left, and aiming about the middle Arrow. That 2nd arrow on the right is just too far over for 3-6-10 pin conversions, for me.
Left-handed pocket in the "[New] Jersey" side. Never heard Brooklyn and I grew up in Queens
7 and 10 for me I hit the middle arrow standing on the last dot that's how I get those the other way does not work for me
sorry, ur theory on target for 7 and 10 min won't work
An old saying what ever works .😂The gist then make it your own.Excellent video.😊
I learned this about 35 years ago and my average improved from about 145, to about 180, in just one bowling season. Now at the age of almost 68, I’m bowling again after recovering from two spinal fractures, a rear end collision, and two back surgeries, over the last 35 years. I’m bowling in three leagues and my average in each of them ranges from 160 to 187, and with my new ball and practice, I hope to be bowling consistent 200+ games each week.
Wow! I'm proud of your accomplishments and not giving up.
good tutorial. I use the dots between the arrows and foul line for more precise positioning, easier to hit.
Now add oil patterns ... assuming a beginner has a 10 board break, the oil patterns can play havoc with spare shooting as described. I contend that most beginners are not throwing a 10 board break and that they are throwing a straighter shot. If so, the 3-6-9 spare shooting system would be much simpler and more accurate.
The very best instructions i've see and understand. Made simple enough for me as a very new bowler. Thank you
Excellent video, but I need clarification on the footwork. You are teaching right-handed bowlers. When you talk about the foot, which foot are you talking about, the left or the right. I assume it's the right foot. Where on the board do I place the foot? Do I center the board under my foot? Or do I put my foot to the left or to the right of the board? This is the first video I have saved to review constantly.
I was wondering this as well. He just says "your foot".
Best explanation for a beginner I've found, thanks
Actually your era was the lucky day!😂😮😅😂!7 9/s in a game?🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉Dam.Although my son which I taught the gist rolled a 289!😮He's using the black widow?Nice for him but I'm tired of the nines!Mostly 5 pin standing.3 balls I use one buckeneat finger tip straight ball(pound the rock)First blood fingertip/quantum fingertip!😮160s/70s/80s/90s?No 200s yet!😮Lanes/me/both?!😮😢Crazy so I decided regardless which ball I use I'm going after the 5 pin!😮😅Wish me luck!❤😂😊
Nice.2nd arrow is normally my norm.I have a plastic Bucs ball so far 190 high (throw it like finger tip)first blood same. Now my quantum well more curve (1st arrow)but depends on oil)Love your video wish me luck I alternate the balls which one gets a strike God's again.Thank you.😅
Funny, whenever I try to bowl by arrows, I make myself crazy thinking about how I missed it by one or two boards. So i stopped doing that. Now all I do is aim at the 6 pin. No matter where I am on the lane, if I aim at the 6 pin, I hit the pocket.
Me too. My delivery is so much better when looking down lane at the pins. Rather than short-arming it at the arrows, my follow through toward the pins is much better which helps my accuracy and ball speed. Different strokes for different folks, literally..
What if you're left handed?
Does the speed of the bowl matters? sometimes I feel like I am throwing the bowl to hard.
How does a right handed bowler pick up a 4,7,10 or just a 7,10 split?
I've watched tons of bowling videos and I have to say this is the most informative video I've seen thus far. Thank you!!!
hoo boy...so much hate for a nice, informative, step one vid for the novice. who knew bowling attracted such tough guys 😂
At 4m50s, you say someone with a 7-board break should aim 2 boards to the left of the 2nd arrow. Surely that should be THREE boards to the left of the 2nd arrow?
This lane has 7 dots on the approach, where I bowl there are only 5 dots on the approach. I would have to move 5 boards on either side to pick up the 7 or 10 pin spares.
Why 39 boards & not 40 ? Wouldn’t that affect something ?
stop aiming from the dots. show laydown point as foul line or dots pleas and thanks
As a left hander, how should I adapt this to suit left hand lane conditions? I assuming aiming points will differ, due to having more oil on our side of the lane.
for left handed you just reverse everything
@@yankeesrule587 But doesnt the right side get used more, so oil conditions are not mirrored? So conditions on the left will eventually be different.
@@jeremypee4128 I'm just saying how his instructions would apply to left handed bowlers. I'm guessing the oil on the left side wouldn't degrade as much or as fast as the right
@@yankeesrule587 For left handers, often the shot is a lot straighter, and movement to the right as oil spreads is less exaggerated, compared with righties moving left. And then theres asymmetrical oil as well. Likewise, correction for misses will be slightly different.
Now I see why they use a dedicated spare ball
Great video, and yes for the most part this is correct. However, depending on oil patterns, type of ball, and rev/speed these aim points might be to the left or right for some. Knowing how your hall hooks and consistently throwing will help you figure this out though relatively easily.
This is exactly what I needed after my average tanked last two league nights. Now I can’t wait to get back on the lanes
I believe the 17.5 board is the pocket.
This is the best video example of how to aim you shots. This has help me a great deal and has improve my score immensely.
what your do when their is only 5 dot vise 7 dots.
Excellent, excellent, excellent,
Seriously, you should write a book. Thank you
Most wonderful explanation! I love it !
4 steps??? What happened to 5 or 7
I would like to see a tutorial if you don't have a hook.
Great knowledge and insight.
Great beginner info. Excellent.
This the best I have seen, on picking up spares
Let me see if I understand this. Since I am a right handed conventional thrower, in order to hit the pocket I would need to aim for the third arrow from the right. Am I correct on this?
:)
This was amazing!! You really did a great job of explaining 👏🏽
Dude you lost me right at the start with Barbie and Fred Flintstone. I am a grown man, not a little baby. Good luck with your channel, Mr. Rogers.
shitty vid
this is not to scale. - shitty vid
this literally teaches you how to bowl like u do not a good reference.
Where can i download this tutorial?
