battletech is like 4 layers deeper into the nerd iceberg than battlestar galactica, how did you get where you are without at least hearing about it? the 2004 battlestar galactic series is one of the best science fiction TV shows out there, and I would highly recommend it.

I've heard of it, but never bothered looking it up. This was mostly a joke. For some reason, this ended up in the lore playlist I was watching. I was super confused at first and decided to write the above joke once I realized what happened.

Now we just need a Battlestar Galactica that's a sequel to Blade Runner...

Japanese VN about a murder investigation turns into 2 detectives uncovering years worth of corruption where the IJA illegally sold arms, the IJN illegally transported those arms sales. And was paid to shuffle supplies between empty naval warehouses using Military Yen making the transactions hard to track since this money wasn’t used in Japan and only amongst the military within the colonies. Accounting firms of Zeibatzu handled the transfer of Military Yen while taking a tiny cut and covering up the transaction. All the while Japanese politicians were bribed out of their ass to keep the entire thing an open secret. It creates then pops the economic bubble of Japanese officers and officials funneling money around for the sake of funneling without any real perception of value leading to the whole house of cards collapsing.

I could have misunderstood Japan's situation, but here it goes: I think in the outside, Japan stands as the second most, if not the most powerful economy (and some argue that Japan is the most powerful country) in the world. But if you look further, the prosperous Japanese economy is all a sham, instead of what the government wants you to think: high economic output, business is skyhigh, everything's dandy... In reality, everything's basically going to shit, and they're just desperately covering it up to keep the investments up and the public trust in the government up. This attempt shatters once the investigation went wild: years of immense corruption was suddenly unearthed and the Japanese public lost their faith in the government, the businesses (if not all of them) were complicit in the corruption, so investments in their companies virtually went to 0 in a day..
