Automotive wet/dry sandpaper is a nice option. No dust and can be sanded down to fine finish.

Might I recommend looking into "LED Magnetic Control Switch Lights"? They are these super compact assemblies that consist of an LED on a PCB that's only slightly larger than the button battery that powers it. There's also a built in magnetic switch, so it can be toggled on or off just by bringing a magnet near it. The huge advantage is that there's no need for wires or large battery housings. You can pretty much fit the entire assembling in the immediate vicinity of the thing you're trying to light up. So like in this case you could fit the whole thing just 1cm down the barrel with something as simple as some double sided tape. Or alternatively this is something small enough where you could fit them inside the titans head, one for each eye, with plenty of space to spare. Just to get an idea of scale, I genuinely think these things are small enough that you could probably embed them in the armor itself and have individual eyes or mouths or other gaping holes be lit up (albeit I think that'd definitely fall into the "too much" category lol). And then when it comes time to change the batteries you can just pop the things out with paperclip or tweezer or what have you, swap out the battery and then them pop it back in. There's definitely the tradeoff of them not being programmable, so they only offer a binary on/off, which is a bit of a bummer. Not entirely sure if there's versions where there's build in flickering or pulsing effects that it can cycle through with the magnet... All that to say while they aren't the suitable for all situations, I just think that it's so convenient not having to worry about running wires all through the model or carving out space to house the batteries and whatnot that they're definitely worth looking into for some of the simpler use cases. Could save you a lot of hassle in some situations!

With the plasma gun you should try to make the coils charge up in a sequence like starting dark and then getting brighter, and then one big bright blast out the end as the shot and then a rapid “cooldown” (fast fade from bright to dark/off) for the coils as the energy would be spent immediately during the shot. Plasma weapons generally don’t need a heat sync type cooldown as the energy is built up like a battery and then discharged in one big pulse. Sequencing kind of like: Coils dark fade to bright, ready for firing, on/bright at the end of the gun, fast fade from bright to off on the end of the gun and coils at the same time. That’s kind of my vision of how a plasma gun should look. I look forward to seeing the future builds and projects!

Fun fact! You can use a metallic sharpie (they have gold, bronze, silver, etc.) for easy rivets painting. I used it on my Imperial Guard army and it saves SO much time.

Having the plasma gun pulsing slowly up and up in intensity then "discharging" all at once, with a slow fade back down to the start would be amazing

You know what will make it look cooler? slime. Take some model glue (clear, type doesn't really matter) add a drop then drag it to another point, there should be a thin string of glue that replicates the effect of stringy saliva. Looks amazing so far.

So while not as bright as a pure white the old spacewolf grey(fenrisian grey?) is a fantastic starting point for that kind of lens work. Also cheesy as it may be I think replacing all the eye lenses with a single cylon/knight rider LED bar would be great. Also I think the gloss varnish might have looked better if it had just a drop of black or purple or dark red ink in it, don't get me wrong it looks 10x better than it did before your glossed it but it again lightened it up a bit once it was dry vs when it was wet and it reflects light whiter... not sure exactly how to say it but I think a slightly darker tint on the gloss would look more wet than just shiny.
