Lousy Sunday drive, racing around in heavy traffic as if youre going to work ! Find some two lane country roads, go see the farms, stop at a roadside stand and buy some fresh produce, go to a small diner and get some good grub. That would be a "Sunday drive" .
I remember as a kid growing up in the 60s/70s my dad always laughed at blokes who wore driving gloves, saying they took themselves too seriously. It's ok now though. They're retro 😉
Me too! They do serve a function though...these motolita wheels are quite skinny and slippery due to the varnish on them. The gloves work very well to provide grip in this scenario. I have a 1970 911T that I wouldn't wear driving gloves with.....but on a british classic you just have to 😁
I had one in 1974, worst car I’ve ever owned. Totally unreliable, twin strombergs impossible to tune, constantly overheating. Two redeeming features: the girls loved it and the classic sound.
See how much low torque it has when he keeps it in 5TH? GEAR..SO MUCH POWER
It only has 4 gears! But they do have lots of torque. Mine has Overdrive and the 3.27 diff so it has very long legs.
I want to say I owned a 1969 mk2 ..my fav forever...I felt like I was driving Batmans car.
I wish the GT6 was as fast as it sounds!
Is there any overdrive on the car?
Nice!!!
What an iconic sound, and those looks in side and out, these were the root cars that pathed the way to future six cylinder classics... Thanks for the ride.
hello, can you tell me where you got the gear knob from?
Holden vintage and classic. Google them.
Nice film and great sound. Where is this? I thought UK but another comment suggests otherwise.
Thank you! This is New Zealand, although I’ve since sold the car and it has ended up in Japan!
Super! Who is the shell manufacturer for that model? All the lines are 👍 👌
Nice Panerai as well!
Makes a change from seeing a Tag Monaco on a drivers wrist 👍🏻
Such a beautiful car, really hoping I will be able to find one (non-running) to restore.
Nice place to spend a Sunday👌. Sincerely hope you have a flat cap to go with those natty driving gloves.
Lol...there is a flat cap
Nice video, but I don't think motorway driving shows the car at its best.
Great. Your roads are MUCH better than here in UK - ours rattle every fibre of my Mk2. Must make the driving experience even better...
How the hell do you know where he is ???

If I'm not mistaken that looks like a dash set, radio fascia panel and door cappings that I made for you? :D
It’s most definitely is Peter. I love the dash set so much, that I came back for round 2 and ordered the door caps and radio plate too 😊. Very pleased, thank you!
@@sk8089 it looks fantastic, really nice tie in with the steering wheel and leather gloves 😀👍 Do you mind if I share the video?

Great ride. I hope to get a couple videos of my mk1 in this year.
Fabulous interior! 😎
Lovely, aren't they?
They really are. Once you do you a suspension upgrade, they totally transform into more of a go-kart. And that super-smooth, torquey straight-6 is just awesome.
@@sk8089 Mine is a 71 with the rotoflex rear -- I'm fairly pleased with the suspension. It's certainly better behaved than my old Spitfire was.
