Willi's - Nordica Skis and Ski Boots
มุมมอง 1566 ปีที่แล้ว
NORDICA’S FAMILY HISTORY FOR MORE THAN 70 YEARS, NORDICA HAS BEEN LEAVING ITS MARK ON THE WORLD OF SKIING.
The toe box looks way too thin for East skiing imo.
They are actually really warm and because they are customized, they tend to allow for more individual toe movement so even the littlest piggy stays warm :)
@ hard to believe when I’ve read and heard otherwise but it’s a tradeoff with comfort and performance in many cases.
The Merino Wool Toe Box really makes a big difference... the key is keeping the foot DRY... hard to do in the East. A good light weight wicking sock will do the heavy lifting but the Merino is really nice. We just did a big demo on customizing them for our staff... They all really liked the overall fit but commented most on the feel of the Merino :)
@ i switched to Merino socks and gave up -30 skiing.
Jeder der das ultimative haben will soll sein Geld in zipfits investieren
Fahre einen Gara Lv absolut geiles teil
The ZipFit Bootliner Is good in every area. The minute you begin using it, you are a better skier.
Absolutely agreed... anytime you can improve the connection between your foot and the boot, you improve you ability to respond to the changing conditions of the slope.
Thanks, these have come out just as I was looking for a new ski. I was looking for something on the slightly carvier end of the all mountain range. I don’t want something super heavy like the Brahma 88. So I think the 84 ticks all my boxes, good enough on groomers for a late middle age man, easy to swing, good on moguls, ok for the occasional six inches fresh snow, generally short rather than long runs (sadly). Is this my ideal ski?
David~ Thanks for watching! Our crew does feel the 84 would be a good ski for you. Yes, way lighter than the Brahma for sure and the Arcade has both speed and aggressiveness on its side... It does just fine in the moguls but keep in mind, the radius may make those tighter mogul fields feel more challenging. It's a Thumbs Up for the Carver but All Mt :)
Wohooo! Winter Diva's demo day is the best!
⛷⛷👍
Heads up everybody! I just skied this new Lange in 120 and 130 LV for over 48 days, every day. I'm a 5'9", 195 lbs advanced skier, off piste on piste. The 120 LV feels like 99 mm and within a weeks average 3 hrs per day it felt more like 100 mm last. I tried the black elastomers and the boot went way to soft, the light gray makes the boot feels close to 120. Easy entry into the boot. The feeling of getting my foot able to move to much in the boot got me to the 130 LV and yes, made a difference .....I think Lange had created this line of ski boots to a week long skiers, for those that everything has to fit and work right of the box.......more for general consumers.
Thanks for the comments! Sounds like you got a TON of skiing in this year!
Great review guys. Demoed these both and noticed the 101's are significantly stronger in the flex which suits me being a bigger guy.
Glad you got out on them!
Don't forget the much lower price! $200 and $250 less than the Experience skis they replaced.
Do they make a version of the ZipFit for wide feet?
All the lasts for the ZipFit are a 96 last and control the volume with the amount of cork... the 96 is a bit of a dubious number because the neoprene stretches to fit every foot.
Second that. My feet are very wide. Gara and Freeride fit the same in the forefoot bc the neoprene stretches. Note that Gara has a little more forward lean. Freeride/workhorse accommodate larger calves as advertised.
@@RK-ig5hy I really like the additional forward lean. It made my boots and me better. Oh, I have a duck foot.
Thanks for the good review. You say in the video that you tested both the 173 and 181 on multiple days. Could you provide more details as to how you would consider sizing? At what point (height, weight, ski ability, etc) would you determine that the one 181 would be preferred? I have read many reviews on this ski that suggest the 173 is a better length, and they seem to not be concerned about differences between height/weight of the skiers.
I would suggest it has more to do with the mountain you spend the most time on...the smaller the mountain, shorter the runs the better the 173 will be... and how you enjoy the mountain - if you like to do quicker, slalom turns, you will want to be on the 173. The 173 will provide more control while the 183 will provide more stability.

True, it can be a bit tough to get enough force to step down when you have an uneven or soft surface... the buddy system can help with this :)
Best ski shop in the world!!
Hello, how long would it take the snowboard Salomon Huck Knife Grom Snowboard 2022 to come if I order it this week?
Where do you live?
@@Willisskiandsnowboard I live in northern Illinois.
Let me check average shipping times… of course you can always pay for expedited shipping too 😊
It looks like your area falls into the 2-3 day window… UPS doesn’t guarantee that but they have been pretty good lately 👍
@@Willisskiandsnowboard okay that’s perfect, thank you so much!
Just bought a pair bring on the snow!
that's not hardpack, you should see icecoast in NY
Love the video. I’m 5”11 190 and looking at the 181. I tried to atomic Q9.8 in the 181 and it seemed fine. Not sure how these compare. Live in Colorado. The 173 just seems very short but skis are getting better.
Yes, we would agree - the maneuverability of the 173 is nice but you may want the stability the 181 would provide
Fellow Ski Reviewer Here, I think something in your audio might be broken here, it only comes out of one ear on headphones. Cheers.
Thanks… we will take a look 👍
Great review. I've got a couple questions for you though. I've been skiing on the RX 130 since they came out in 100mm last. Initially, I bought them at a shop and had no need for modifications. When it came time to replace them, I ordered them online having had good luck with the 100mm RX right out of the box. Do you think if I bought the Shadow LV online, it'd fit like my 100mm RX or should I wait to try on both lasts at a shop first? Some years back, I did try on the RS 130 and the RX LV and both were crunching the outside of my foot. I don't want a cushy, unresponsive boot and am looking for performance so if I can get into the LV, I'd go that route.
Thanks! First off let me say sorry for the delayed response but also let me add that we always suggest working with a qualified boot fitter. With that said modifications can be done after purchase to open up that toe box if necessary. The Shadow is still a low volume boot even though it has a little more space than a typical LV - You for sure need to try these boots on. They can be adjusted after the fact but quite honestly, it is too much money to spend on a guess about the fit.
@@Willisskiandsnowboard Thanks. I actually tried on a pair of Salomon S Pro Alpha 130's yesterday and was quite impressed. I may not buy the Shadows.
I want these! Wish the radius was a bit longer
How long will the North Hills store be closed for now? Or is the damage going to be repaired by the time you guys reopen?
And you test the boot while on the awesome Zorza 70!
Haha! Yup!
Cost please?
Sorry for the delayed response! Shadow 110MV $649 Shadow 120LV $749 Shadow 130LV $849
$850
Great explanation thanks, but what was your preferred length? I’m 6foot, 180 lb, experienced skier, currently on the Experience 88 and Sender Ti in 180 cm length. In the Forza 70, I’ve seen 173 recommended. What do you think?
Where do you ski mostly? East Coast, West Coast or Rockies?
@@Willisskiandsnowboard haha. Australia actually, more like your east coast but not as cold. I want the Forzas for icy groomers particularly in the early morning.
Yes, it sounds like the 173 would be good for you… especially based on what I’m guessing is High Water Content snow for most of the season 👍
rental stores are going buy this ski in droves.
Agreed! It will be a great ski for lots of people trying to get that feeling of being on their edges.
what is bevel on these skis?
James~ The Forza 70 comes from the factory with a one degree bevel on both the base and sides... Our Montana machines take it up a notch though and will do a Radial Base Bevel, which works out to .5 degree under foot and progressively goes to .8 degree in the tip and tail :)
@@Willisskiandsnowboard We need you in Breckenrige CO.
This ski is going to help so many people to actually “carve”. Skied it a few times. What a great product.
Do you happen to know the BSL of a 27.5?
That should be a 313mm
@@Willisskiandsnowboard thanks!
@@Willisskiandsnowboard this leads me to believe this boot doesn’t have the extended toe box like the RX, which is 316 bsl @ 27.5. Any idea on that? Thanks again
This boot has a completely different internal last - because of that the bsl is indeed different...to me, it actually feels more roomy.
@@Willisskiandsnowboard thanks again for your time
I demoed the 60 and its the best carver I ever tried!
Really great on the front-side, isn't it?
