Thank you for the video, however I couldn't understand what you were saying because the audio was bad. Also, I would like to know what speed you were using with the lathe, what cutter you were using, and a better look at the polishes you were using.. To be fair I'm 81 and have hearing aids. I have been turning pens for 6 years.
I appreciate it. This was one of my first videos so I was still trying to figure it all out. Still am. I usually rough the blank around 800 rpm then step up to around 1500. I lower the speed to 800 to sand then crank it up to 3000 to apply the finish. I used the Rockler carbide tools. I believe the finished I used in this was called shell a wax liquid friction polish. Hope this helps.

I really like how you finished the bottom. It looks great man.
I like the foot on the bottom. It can be a little sketchy on my lathe since you can’t slow it down that much but it worked out well.
Very nice. But my wife would have killed me if my lathe was in the garage with her car! With as much stuff has flied off my lathe, I don't blame her!
Haha. That was an oversight on my part. Fortunately nothing flew off. The usually explode on my lathe.

Good reminder of why not to use resin in your projects. The results are quite OK but the mess it creates... For me it just isn't worth it. But still a nice job and thnx for sharing! I'm curious about your tool handle. 😎
The mess is kind of crazy but I got a new shop vac that took care of it pretty easily. The tool handle will be my next video. I found a piece of stock to use for it last weekend. My new job is keeping me pretty busy unfortunately can’t spend as much time in the shop as I like.

Some days you make saw dust, but at least you were turning. Shine Juice is nice finish.

Cutting well with traditional tools but the piece got a lot smaller due to all the imperfections in the wood. Nice wood though. Well done! 😎
