Mario adored this carol, sang it like the Angelic Host's soloist he had been. When he finished recording, the entire orchestra/chorus/crew were bawling their eyes out. He moves everyone so much, every cell of one's body vibrates with each word and his voice.

I grew up listening to my dad who could hold a note singing lanza songs. To this day there is no greater voice than lanza.

This song and all of the other on the Album 'Mario Lanza Christmas Hymns and Carols' take me back to the 70s when my parents would play this each Christmas. I recall the slight crackling of the needle on vinyl and then this breathtaking voice. I now listen on Spotify and the nostalgia for those precious days is almost too hard to take.

My great aunts lived next to the Lanza family. Mario gave credit to Caruso to model from. But Marios voice was so unique just like Pavarotti who I met in person back in the 1980;s The great men and women of music, singers, conductors, musicians are truly blessed by the LORD to share their talents with all then and now. Thanks to all at TH-cam who bring these wonderful memories to life for the younger generations.
