Key points: 1) Bismillah... is not considered the ayat of surah fatiha according to nouman ali khan (reference hadees e qudsi) 2) alhamd means praise and thanks belongs to Allah 3) Praise and thanks are two different things 4) Example of praise but not thanks: If you see a nice car you praise it but not thank it / You praise a cute baby 5) Example of thanks but not praise: Firaun raised Hazrat Musa so he thanked him but did not praise him 6) Praise can be fake 7) Example of fake praise: Praising your boss to make a good image 8) Seperate words of praise (madh) and thanks (shukr) can not be used instead of Alhamd 9) Madh (praise) can be fake 10) Thanks is considered for only one specific thing. Example: If someone helps you, you thank them for their help 11) Allah is always praised (truely) 12) Allah is thanked for everything (not only one) and it is a reaction 13) Alhamd is used to show true praise and thanks for everything and it is more powerful than the two words (madh and shukr) combined 14) Principle of speeches: The best kind of speech is that which uses less words and gets the point across 15) This is also why one single word alhamd is used 16) If "and" is written, like praise "and" thanks, it can sometimes be taken as sometimes praising and sometimes thanking 17) In alhamd you praise and thank Allah at the same time 18) Alhamdulillah is an attitude not a word 19) Allah does not want the speech of the tongue but the speech of the heart 20) Alhamdulillah means praise and thanks belongs to allah. Where praise and thanks are nouns 21) Verbs have tense (present, past and future) 22) If praise and thanks would be written as verbs with a specific tense, it could be considered that it is for that specific time 23) Example: In "I praise Allah", the tense is present, which could indicate that Allah was not praised before and will not be praised in future 24) So nouns without any tense are used to show that praise and thanks was, is and always will be there of Allah 25) Whether someone does it or not, it is always there and was always there and will be always there 26) Allah does not need anyone to do it, it is there regardless
