This is an exceptional video and deserves to be far better known. The Neupert harpsichord sounds wonderful and is recorded with great presence. Best of all is the virtuosic playing of Višnja Mažuran which conveys a degree of passion that is not easy to achieve on a harpsichord. Thank you for this.

1. Странно, но здесь - Nilsson, хотя ее темперамент не очень подходит, но звучание отрывка просто великолепное. 2. Tebaldi. Не лучшее ее выступление, но голос изумителен. 3. Callas. Феноменальная выразительность. 4. Milanov. мне она вообще нравится 5. Price. Здесь не очень, верхние ноты какие-то тощие, даже вибрато не спасает. по-моему, есть записи лучше. 6. Caballe. Прекрасная певица, но Аида ей не по голосу, кмк 7. Sutherland. Великая певица, однако запись не нравится и не совсем ее партия.

Luciano is in radiant form here. The program is rich and varied. A complete tenor recital showing his versatility. I am sorry he did not record more during this period. There are so many operas and arias he could've done. Yes, I am grateful for what we have, but then again it would be nice to have more. Early and later Verdi operas, more Puccini, more Donizetti, Werher, Don Jose in Carmen, Faust by Gounod. I still hope something will surface toward his 90th and 100 anniversary.

Who did the recording? ....there is static noise during the first movement, Microphones are also not matching the quality of the piano... Also who edited the video ?? There is a very perceptible lag between sound and fingers. Sound come first! They cannot do that with this woman !

I heard Lucine Amara sing this duet with Arturo Zergy at Alice Tully hall in the mid to late 90s, they were both in their 60s and.sang divinely!

Two aspects of this interpretation strike me. 1. It is very different from the 1967 interpretation; usually performers tend to stay true to themselves, not to question their vision of a piece. Here Argerich changes not just a few details, but the conception of the Sonata. It is all almost "improvised," in the sense giving the idea of spontaneity in the context of a sonata whose structure is very strict. 2. Here Argerich sounds better than she did at 26. This is unbelievable! Often critics talk about old people sounding better than when they were young (Rubinstein, Horowitz, Richter...), but this is bullshit for the uncultured masses. Argerich is the only case I know of an octogenarian who sounds technically extraordinary.

She is still remarcable. She received prize 1965 for this record. She was 25. It's magic!

Leontyne Price for me. She owns this one in my opinion. But I don't deny the special amd superb artistry of the other great divas. It's so beautiful to hear them together.
