XORventures with My Dog and My Jeep
United States
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 3 ส.ค. 2012
XORventures - eXpore On Road, eXplore Off Road, eXtreme Off Road adVentures. My passion has always been surfing. Over the past 14 years, exploring this great country of ours along with playtime in the dirt and on the rocks has broadened my horizons. My dog and I have journeyed through many of our 50 states. Off-roading includes California, Utah, Arizona, and Nevada. We have also been to Gettysburg, the Great Lakes and traveled Hwy 50 and the entirety of Route 66. My plans are to continue our travels to reach all lower 48 states and revisit past locations. Come along with us virtually to re-live places you have been and learn of new places you may not have ever considered going. My dog was struck with SARDS (Sudden Acquired Retinal Degeneration Syndrome) April 2023 at the young age of 9 and is now blind. He has adapted well and still excited with traveling in my Jeep. Thanks for watching, and enjoy!

3N93 Holcomb Creek Trail 2024: EP I - Dishpan Springs gate closed
Loving the Endless summer vibes! I haven’t been to Trestles for a long time. I need to get back in the water.
@cj7andotherjeeps940 I miss those days. So crowded now.
Holcomb Creek is one of my favorites. What drone are you using? You got some great footage. I want to buy one someday and need to add it to my endless list of things I need to buy.😂
@cj7andotherjeeps940 I have a DJI Mini Pro 4. Way better than my last drone from my Panamint videos. Lots of bells and whistles.
I encountered the same issue at that first closed gate. There are two nearby options you can take off HWY 173 that can be used to get you to Dishpan Springs trail. Traveling north on the 173 make a right turn on Torrey road and follow it up to Rouse Ranch 2N25. Another point of entry is 2N28Y off of Banff drive. Banff drive is a more difficult to navigate to due to driving through neighborhoods but having a GPS helps. There are a few other options but those are ones that I have personally used. Keep in mind that they have gates as well but have been open when I've been there.
how did the drone permission go did you have to fill out a form ? or just ask
@@everettfitzpatrick2542 I just went in and asked how to obtain a permit. I was told no permit required. Just be respectful to people and wildlife. I did that and most of my drone footage is just outside the main areas where people go. I used zoom to get in closer. Had no issues. I recommend asking whenever you go there in case requirements change.
@@XORventures thanks for the info ! yea usually if I'm unsure I ask just in case , think I'm gonna make a spontaneous trip tomorrow so thanks for the video some good information !

It was a pleasure to take the maiden voyage of our “new to us, old to you Jeep”!!! She is amazing and already broken in!
Beautiful!! Merry Christmas to you and your family.
Merry Christmas to you both!
I have to turn it way down n watch. That music is really bad. Where is your🐾?
@Godschild316 I just throw in music based on the mood. If that one was too loud, you probably won't like this video th-cam.com/video/zrgTNWyKkv0/w-d-xo.htmlsi=qsRADMcsxi6z50fz Cody is in it more though.
I love a thing with a story. Where it's been, ect.... Good times, Good times🤗 Keep making memories🌹and I'll keep watching😳 thank you, and happy thanksgiving to you and your good family 🙏🌹
Outstanding! Wow! The view from up there is stunning! Great work! God bless!! Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
🤙
P.S. You will NEVER find me at disney land 😝
I love the desert 🌵 I re-load with dad 😊🇺🇸 Great drone work ✨ Happy Thanksgiving 🍁🌻 🍂
Very. Well. Done. Thanks for sharing!
Very cool
You and I passed through the area in February, 2020, staying one night in a municipal campground in Lone Pine. We completely missed the Alabama Hills though! Thankfully, I got back there, to camp in the Hills, in 2022.
@@Robert_J_Dyer_Photography oh yeah. Passed by many times traveling along 395. Just never stopped to smell the roses along the way to see what's there.
quite a few Cody Cam moments - love it! cool video.
Nice video. Good luck with the channel. I am based in San Bernardino. Lemme know if you ever want another jeep in the lineup. Subscribed.
@IntotheSunset Thanks! Will do. Hoping Holcomb trails will re-open soon.
Did you ever remount the tire carrier when you got home?
@jasonjohn1978 took it to a local fabricator and he repaired it with a stronger spindle. $400. Not bad considering the carnage we saw along the trail. And I was able to finish.
Hahaha! What could possibly go wrong???
cool video Cody looks so content :)
@StefanoKlironomos the Jeep has been his happy place since he was a pup.
I’m pretty sure that we did this trail a few years ago on our way to camp near Joshua Tree!
@Robert_J_Dyer_Photography yes we did.
more Cody-cam please :) I love how well you have trained your drone to follow you! cool video.
Will do with the Cody Cam.
Human, definitely!
You’re getting really good with the drone!!!
You built your platform very similar to what I’ve done except I haven’t removed my rear seats. Just fold them down and extend the platform as needed. I’m trying to figure out a way to mount my power station the the drivers side between rear seat and roll bar and compressor on opposite side like you did. How did you secure that shelf for your compressor? Bolted to platform and hardtop bolts?
I used a jigsaw to shape it around the outer side of the roll bar. So that holds it in place so I don't have to use the hardtop bolts. Then I screwed a board as a post under the spot where the compressor is and another under the front of the shelf down to the platform. I pulled the seats for storage. I built something similar for my JKU and had my power station in front of the roll bar. It held good. I decided to move it under the platform. I have two USB charging fan under there to maintain air circulation for those hot days.
@@XORventures very cool ideas! Didn’t occur to me to wrap around the roll bar like that. I see some cardboard template tests in my future. Thanks for responding.
@richardmoore2003 I was making it up as I go, so cardboard cutouts were the way to go.
cool video.
Losing your spare tire carrier makes me question whether I want to get one for my Jeep. What brand is your's and where you over weight on it?
@BillThornock I've had this bumper tire carrier for almost 15 years. The brand is Wurx. They were in Canada. It was just a perfect storm the way I hit it. Between my tire, fuel, hi-lift - probably about 150 lbs. I was able to have it repaired by my local fab shop. Cost $400. I wouldn't shy away from this type of carrier vs the one attached to your rear door. I would think a similar hit to a rear door mount could be more costly depending on what breaks.
@@XORventures Thanks for the response. Your video shows how rough the trail is. I have a Gladiator, my spare takes up the whole bed. Was looking into the swing gate bumper tire carrier.
@BillThornock Just remember that the Gladiator tail end sticks out farther than the Wrangler. A tire carrier will extend that so more likely to hit the back end climbing. Probably want to get a tire carrier that mounts high.
Nice video show more views you missed out a lot of views up there nice jeep sir I’m your subscriber now be careful up there God bless you
@arturobarraza1020 thanks for the comment. I did cut a lot out to try and keep the length around 30 min. Hoping to get back up there before winter to run Rattlesnake and the rest of Burns. I'll get more scenery then. Also check out my Moab and Rubicon videos for more scenery.
It gets worse lol. Slow down and listen to your spot😢ter, take the bypasses and you'll be fine
@lindamoser2532 no bypass there. Wouldn't use it if there was.
Awesome location
You are getting pretty handy with the drone!
@Robert_J_Dyer_Photography it seems to cooperate better when I use the Android with the controller vs iPhone.
What size tires are you running on that beast?
Just 37s. Any bigger and Dana 60s are needed. Big expense for those.
Good seeing you both again. Are you gonna get that 4X4 Vet for Carrie?
@@jefflyons7144 I offered.
Happy birthday 🎉🎉😅
Thanks! I guess I'm still older than you.
@@XORventures 🤣
Cody cam was too cool 🤙/ thanks for sharing this adventure….a bucket list hopefully tackled soon
@ericnunn8856 hope you can make it up there soon. Definitely worth it.
As previously commented the new gate keeper is because forestry was having to recover cars and because people were illegally harvesting firewood out there. Now I think I'm going to run it backwards though.
@davidbeeman8501 Definitely. The trail is short enough to run it in both directions. And too fun to pass that up. I finally made it back up there to drive over that Gatekeeper. New video coming soon.
Cadillac Hill definitely deserves its reputation. The camera doesn't do justice to how steep it is.
Looking forward to doing it again someday, now that I know the terrain a little.
Thank you, this series was great. I really enjoyed the pace and style.
Much appreciated.

Love the shout out!!!! hahahahah Your narrating is great! So awesome watching your videos.
@nickbreakseverything thanks! I'm almost afraid to watch yours, but they pull me in. I did Corral Canyon many years ago. But not those spots. That was insane for a pickup truck.
Big sluice technically starts where you saw the marker, @ 10:56 that was decision tree
@@Lazylabfj40 hoping to run that again.

Let me know if it's ok if I mention your channel in my next video.
@@XORventures absolutely!
You went to the left of little sluice when you went up the slab and got behind the other jeep. You guys went around and dropped in at the end of it.
Is that the spot when I radioed him that I thought the trail was to the right?
@@XORventures @ 20:45 The bathroom if you would have stayed straight instead of going to the left
Refreshing to see ya'll wheelin without a bunch of spotting and bs chattter! Sub'd
Spotters get in the way of the camera shots. Can't have that.
Thanks for sharing. Cody is adorable 😍
The Rubicon is literally our back door. My brother owns a beautiful place on Wentworth springs road and we spend lots of time up there year round. There are so many other great trails I'd love to share with you. Snow wheeling is also one of our passions during the winter, come join us! Bye the way, my original rack broke the spindle mount and fell off just like yours. I know how to prevent that now!
@mikeroads4807 Love to go back up there some day. May take you up on that.
Ouch!
