well, the animation was good, and the cinematics were solid, but the pacing was a bit off, and those voices...well, they would have likely changed them had it been greenlit. but it felt like a mesh of Darkwing Duck and Roger Rabbit, both of which were more enjoyable to watch, in my opinion. sorry it never went on the big screen, but maybe something different would work better. i've always liked hand drawn animation more than CGI...

Now THIS feels like a proper Roger Rabbit like movie. People tend to throw comparisons to Roger Rabbit a lot, mainly for Crossovers (Space Jam, Super Mario movie, Wreck-It-Ralph, Ready Player One) but they are all missing the gritty tone and detective film noir that make Roger Rabbit special outside of the Crossovers. This not only has the gritty crime film theme but also a drop dead gorgeous babe that steals the scenes she's in, exactly like Jessica Rabbit who outright brings adult sexual appeal with the other people reacting to her. All those adult things is what makes this short video feel like an actual Roger Rabbit movie than all those other films we have gotten that tend to focus more on crossover fan service than any actual story or characters.

It's unfortunate how boring this is with how well animated it was otherwise. Did they take any guy off the street to voice the ducks?

Mr. Limpet, Bed Knobs and Broomsticks, Who Framed Roger Rabbit, Space Jam, and Cool World come to mind. This is a genre I forgot about but also doesnt really exist anymore either outside of Space Jam IP. Be wild if someone made a serious movie or a horror movie like this. ID pay to see that.

I don't know why a video from 7 years ago appears in my recommendations, but as an absolute Looney Tunes fan, this is pure gold. Such a shame that they didn't know how to take advantage of this great idea. An even dark side of Roger Rabbit mixed with a neo-noir.

Stumbling across this thing randomly now and...production values re: the animation are actually rather excellent for the most part, but ultimately I'm glad never got greenlit, as the world already has Who Framed Roger Rabbit and what we DIDN'T need was a shittier version of that. After all, Cool World was already a terrible thing that saught to predate off the success of WFRR.

A superhero upsets the mob, and they turn loose an evil alternate version of the hero to combat him... Yeah, this movie would have been doing it before it got old; waaaaaaayyy ahead of its time. I wanna see it get made.
