The tea and oatmeal in those rations had a bloke go from feeling like a bloody sod to feeling like an Englishman in no time.

The marzipan taste may be rancid oil or shortening. Unlike hardtack, many ration buiscuits contained oil or shortening to make them soft and better tasting.

The webbing should be the same colour as the respirator bag , light khaki brown . Only in late war 1943 onwards was the webbing a pale green colour . However this video is an excellent presentation, well done !

I have some of my great grandfather's service papers, pamphlets, and books. He was a member of the 82nd airborne, and I love these kinds of items.

I think the 37/38 pattern webbing was a light khaki colour . It evolved as dark green later on in the war i.e D -day Normandy
