Timeless monster, best car jag has ever done imo , f type looks like a kids car compared to this 👍
I hv one.. bmw z4 e85 3.0si .. this car to much problm ..
Absoloutely love them. I had an XK, but upgraded to XKR. Remapped to 553bhp and 515lbs torque 😎
How are they on reliability. I have an m4 now. Don’t want to bite of more then I can chew but feel in love with the XKR
@k9kingzuk Notorious for coolant issues. I recently had coolant pump and auxiliary electric pump. Also had height sensor due to adaptive dynamics fault. Had it for eight months now.
@@Lee-sy3kn how much did that cost you ? Should I consider a non R ?
Around a grand for parts and labour. XK has same issues. Out of the two - your choice, but XKR for that supercharged roar, quad exhaust, also the 510 bhp and 463 lbs torque on tap from stock. Whichever one you go for, sniff the bonnet for that sweet aroma, and check service history and water pump replacement 👍
@@Lee-sy3kn okay so even XKR won’t break the bank. I’ve had bigger repairs in most my bms. Would you recommend the XKR over xk ? Is the reliability not that big of a difference compared to the amount of fun speed ?
Definitely one of the better designs out there. Surprisingly after doing some fairly shallow digging, they don’t seem to have m/any large issues outside of water pumps, which is a fairly common problem on a lot of cars of the era
3:44 Nice paraglider in the background!
I love this car and the video, but I think the music is too loud, and I can't hear you. Your model looks soooooo clean
I bought a 2011 XKR new and haven’t stopped thinking about it since I sold it. Just found a 2013 XKR convertible with low miles. It replaced my new BMW 850 convertible. Hands-down for me the jaguar is so much more beautiful and a lot more fun too!!
Alexa, play Kerosene
Mines a manual standard, fancy a stage 2 or 3 but it's a grand before you even start with an upgraded clutch 😮
just got a XK dynamic R and its amazing what a sound and what a car looks mean with the lowered ride high and sports seats and black wheels
What was your overall mpg? I have the same car and same spec minus splitters, and SatNav. I have only achieved a little over 30mpg.
Ça fait quoi en klm heure ?
The Jag XJ12 Series 1,2 and 3 is the most under appreciated car of all time. This XKR is the next most under appreciated car of all time. Absolutely awesome.
Thoroughly superb and accurate review.
not in s6 mode with traction off making all shirts the max ! wtf ?!
Mine is a 2007 4.2 XKR. Brilliant car that is my daily driver. Love it.
How’s the maintenance and reliability been. Really want one but bit scared. I currently have an m4
Yes it’s all you say, and more. Had four XKR’s. My latest is the run off edition 2015 with all the goodies from the ‘S’ version. It’s old now but can’t bear to part with it.
Thanks. Can somone that's 6'5 fit inside one of these to drive?
My friend is 6 foot 4 and he fits inside, driving it and being comfortable would be trickier though!
Still not as beautiful as the xkr100
The most beautiful and sexy roadster hands down. And the most underrated sportscar in the automotive history.
Absolutely right. 👍
You removed the silencing material from the exhaust system. ....and you wish the car was bit quieter....Exactly.
The pipe mod only really affects noise in the cabin under acceleration. It's relatively negligible under constant load on the motorway
I'm planning a road trip aross Europe in mine, great video and reassuring that they can take the abuse OK. If you're suffering with the seats, E46 MSports are a bolt in mod and still look original
Lovely job, that roadtrip must have been a blast 👌🏽 I do enjoy the aerokit on your Z4 as it is indeed quite rare on these E85s. I've had my 3.0i manual for almost 3 years now (same spec as yours but without the aero kit) and it's just brilliant all round for a roadster - I got the feeling just by hearing yours on kickdown on the autobahn that (inevitably) the auto box might rub some of the power away but it still sounds great and doesn't detracted from the excitement I'm sure👍🏽 Hope to do a roadtrip like that at some point, maybe blast through some twisty country roads down the south of France 😊 Thanks for the upload and greetings from Belgium!
Thanks mate, yes it was! The old 5 speed is definitely robbing a good amount of power I reckon, but good enough for a daily - no doubt a 6 speed manual would put it to shame. South France would be fantastic, but that turns a week trip into a two week trip for someone from Ireland now!
@@talkandtorque7004 I live in the south of France near Toulouse,I can definitely recommend the lovely roads down here 👍
Lovely specced example, shame about the accident,I couldn’t see if you had cruise control or not, very easy plug and play mod if not.
I know, unfortunate but these things happen! All fixed up now though. Was a €50 bumper bracket and it's all good again. The car does have cruise control, would have gone mad over 3000km otherwise :)
10 years and 202,000 miles into my 5.0L XKR. In 55 years of driving, far and away the best, most reliable car I've ever owned. Still a pleasure to drive everyday. Too good to get rid of even with that mileage.
Really fell in live with it. How does it compare to a m4 on maintenance and reliability ?
@@k9kingzuk I've never owned a BMW product so I can't compare reliabilities, however I can say that I've not had another car with 218,000 miles on it (current mileage) that has been so reliable. I change oil every 3500-5000 miles, have changed transmission fluid about every 70,000 miles (3 times)., changed shocks once (but will probably do it again soon), had a few sensors replaced and some coolant hose replacements, along with several fuel injector replacements. One thing you must do is maintain a fully charged battery or you will get warning lights. They are not real warnings but a function of a less than full battery charge. There are two interior issues that are fairly common. First, the Alcantara headliner will eventually droop as the foam backing deteriorates. The leather dashboard can "shrink" and pull away from the frame and get air bubbles. This is an expensive repair and an even more expensive dash replacement if severe enough. My car had this issue when I bought it, but being in the interior design trade, we removed my dash, I took it to my personal upholsterer, and he had it as good as new in a couple of hours with a permanent solution by using stapling to the frame rather than just relying on adhesives. Eleven years later and it still looks like new. When I first bought my car, i had it pulleyed and tuned to roughly 600hp so it would give your M4 a severe test in acceleration. I have never had a car of any kind have an automatic transmission that didn't need a rebuild in over 200,000 miles let alone one pushing 600hp. I have tracked it dozens of times and while too big and heavy to be a great track weapon, it was always fun, reliable, and enjoyable. This is a great, luxurious automobile, capable of considerable performance, and I carry two sets of golf clubs in the trunk every week (I have a coupe) with no trouble. I just wish I had bought another one 3-4 years ago when prices were so much lower. After all, I will hit a quarter of a million miles on her next year. She's quicker than my gorgeous De Tomaso Pantera, and if I had to give one of them up, the Pantera would be the one leaving.
Lol you can see the gas tank needle move. Worth it though with that V10
probably just sloshing at the back of the tank
got this one in white 🇮🇳
Just did 😁
I brought an xkr 3months ago, im 60, first time jaaaag owner, its not just driving, i call it an experience, driving it is like owning a german shepard ( which i once did ) beautiful to look at but also others are very aware not to mess with, because its a bloody animal
I have the exact same in convertible mode, an absolute joy! Great video
I just love the Jag XKR. Timeless styling and a beast of an engine.
Was it stock?
Great review I have the non supercharged model beautiful car and a rare heritage model only 25 coupe made love the V8 as you do.
Who cares about the fucking radio in a car like that
I have a 2013 XKR and love it. I also love my ancient '02 X308, but the R is in a different league and pulls compliments everywhere I go.
Wow, a joy to see my old car.....still looking amazing, brings back some great memories.
I purchased my m6 9 yrs ago. The rpm currently goes to about 8500. How do I know if it’s been tuned or not?
It will have had a rpm tune done to it because stock redline is 8250rpms
What’s the instrumentals playing in the background?
i agree ! my 2010 indi red m6 gets sooo much attention
I’ve just bought a2012 xkr and it’s the best car I never new I wanted. It’s black with the black pack and sported seats which for me made all the difference. Just getting in tip of a few things but as I’m keeping the car once they’re done it put me in good stead for the future. Love, love, love the Jaguar XKR ❤️
The XKR is atleast about 3 or 4 car lengths faster than an XFR and i'll never understand why Jaguar loves that boring looking XF so much and treat it like it's the best thing that ever happened to the company and love keeping that borderline hideous thing in production LoL
Nope the XK looks better than the F-Type in everyway except for how the rear of how the F-Type looks.I say they should've made a 4th Generation XK and gave the XK an F-Type rear end look and kept the last generation new facelift in the front.I can imagine it and the XK would've really out sold the F-Type
Sounds like shit
Engines are strong...unlike 996 and 997 Porsche 911 !!! which is sad, but people still go on and on about how great these Porsches are
Would you say it’s close to the reliability of an m4 or 987 cayman in general. Not trying to bite of more then I can chew on maintenance. But fell in love with this car
stratus grey metallic R coupe ...with the black pack. my dream car..
I have this exact car. Go and buy yourself one. You will never regret it.
I just bought same car. Frickin awsum!!
500 quid fixes the infotainment system
How?
How ? What's needed please ?
No stage 2, is stock!
Love it.
I do not believe that car is Stock. The exhaust note does NOT sound like that - even in Dynamic & Sport…….
I have one. Yes it does :D
@@icedreamer9629 I also have one... and mine is just a bit louder with the reso removed and the active exhaust stuck open because I pulled the fuse
You clearly don’t know much about Jags.
