I had a 2004 1720 Flyfisher with a 115 Yamaha. Loved the boat but after a year, I traded it in on something that would fit in the garage. Having to go get it out of storage and take it back all the time was a joy kill. I lived in a neighborhood where you could not keep a boat outside. That sucked!
Sweet looking boat! Love the new console and aesthetics. Have a 1998 1820 - it’s still in great condition and regularly fishing the flats. To anyone looking Action Craft boats are as solid a big water capable flats boat as they get. Look forward to seeing some more content from the new ownership!
I have a 2005 1720 which I love. Nice job on the subtle changes. I noticed there are no push pole holders on this boat. Also I love the pop up cleats in the rear will definitely add that to mine.
Push pole holders are an option on our boats -- this one just didn't have them!
Good looking boat. Always loved the AC 2020. I wish you all would have kept bigger overflow stand pipe in the livewells. It’s not just about fresh water in, also the nastier water getting out.

Is the big console an option on the 2310 still?
We are all glad to have AC back in business! I’ve run the 1720 for about 10 years. In my opinion it’s the best AC model. I think your console is too wide and tall. The Merc 115 is a perfect choice. The wiring on my existing boat functions, but it’s a hot mess and area for improvement (and the flip seat). The new poling tower platform looks a bit small and it doesn’t look like it was designed for this model. I’d suggesting a sissy bar option on the poling platform. On my boat, it’s a PIA to operate the small bait well. The new boat and sea deck colors are not compatible. I’d also suggest you share the layup schedule and materials (less concern about aesthetics). I hope you are wildly successful.

Absolutely Disappointing……The two main things needing to be modernized were the console and doing away with the flip up seat. The console looks horrible compared to most every skiff in its class and the useless antiquated flip up seat is still there. Should have also kept the old school poling platform, that new one look like crap!
Thanks for the input. We are currently changing the mold for the flip-up seat, totally going to redesign the poling platform with a flip-down backrest. This console is a new one we are trying, the goal was to fit the inlay screen. Do you have any more suggestions on how it should look and why this one doesn't look right? Appreciate the support!
I was at the factory in Cape Coral months before the sale of Action Craft specking out a new 1720 with Keith and his son. I didn’t place the order because of the flip up seat and the console not being updated for the new electronics on the market. Having said that, I’m sure the new cap without the flip up seat will be well received. The issue with the console is it looks a little too large, maybe a smaller version like the Maverick, East Cape, Hells Bay, or Chittum would be more appealing. They all make modern consoles that are not oversized. I’ve owned several Action Crafts and there really wasn’t much needed except updating. The old school polling platform with a step or backrest is a great option. Last, I’d offer a grab rail around the windshield and powder coated rod holders. The plastic ones cheapen everything. Thanks for allowing me to give suggestions, I want to see Action Craft make a huge comeback!
Nice boat but not worth the price. I’ll buy an older one and re-power it. It’s lost that “Action Craft” quality. I’ll pass
That's the beauty of freedom! How has it lost Action Craft quality with the same exact molds and process etc.? If anything we have fixed a lot of the old issues on these new builds!

I think the boat is nice but… why on earth aren’t you using stainless fittings on the plumbing? The plastic ones get bleached by the sun and crack. I just replaced mine in my 1890 and I can’t see any reason to sell a boat at that price point with cheap hardware.
Haha we knew someone would see that! For some reason the customer wanted them. We use stainless on all boats, comes standard. Thanks for watching!
