Tom has a wild back story. I apologize for this long post. I got comment diarrhea (gross symbolism, sorry). If any of my phrases seem weird, feel free to ask (I am a 65 year old Hispanic American - 2nd gen - and I sometimes use slang from when I was your age, a long, long time ago). ***Personal Opinion on Tom***: I think part of the anger Tom has towards the corporate music industry is due him buying into the message presented by rappers. He wound up depressed, messed up on alcohol and came close to suicide. This is also the first song that went viral and triggered how he came up. See “Dear Rappers” He couldn’t pay his bills AND was evicted, living on the street until he went back and lived at his mom’s for 9 months, fully disconnected from the world, not even interacting with other humans, contemplating suicide on the daily. He finally made his way back and has nothing nice to say about the music industry labels or the message they push to the mainstream. He will not compromise and had no choice but to be truly independent. His music is also his therapy for the darkness of the depression and anxiety - that monster never goes away, I know because I’ve tried to kill the one lurking in my shadows. If you check out “Sober”, you will get Tom’s story. He is an open book and knows that keeping it 💯 helps keep the monster locked down. His spoken word joints are also good for backstory. As you react to more of Tom’s tracks, im sure you’ll seen why there are 3 groups of people that listen to Tom’s tracks: 1. The haters. Never gonna change and the #hangovergang will always just wave🖕🏽🖕🏿🖕🏼 2. The people that feel the same way he does and like his message and that he holds the industry accountable: See “Blame The Rappers” ft DAX. Group 3 includes me and many others - keeping it real af: 3. We are people that have done battle with our own demons, such as alcohol, drugs, other addictions and depression. Many of us have even been close to suicide but we kept hanging on. We still fight our demons but we refuse to give them power over us. While Tom’s music is therapy for him, it’s also a source of strength for us. The thing that gives us the greatest power over the darkness is knowing we are not alone. That is why we are part of the #hangovergang, we will never be alone, there is strength in numbers. Lastly, some things I’ve learned after flipping the bird to Death 3 times: *: Life is full of absurdity. When non-critical shit happens (I.e. bought the wrong car part or the car part breaks), treat it is as an absurdity and laugh your ass off at it. That takes all the power away from absurdities. Things like dyslexia are also absurdities (I have it bad but joke about it because, well you know, it’s ABSURD!). PS: If Life gives you melons, you might be dyslexic. *: Life is a grand adventure. And, just like any roller coaster, there are scary parts and there are the thrills. All you have to remember is to Hold On Tight and enjoy the ride. Substances like alcohol and drugs don’t enhance the adventure, they will however, muddy the experience. *: You are not alone. No matter what struggles or challenges you may face, others have been there. There is no shame in the struggle, it’s what makes us stronger, like lifting weights. As we lift more, we get stronger but, there is a time when every weight lifter takes on a little more than they can safely handle and they ask someone to be a spotter, just in case. The only shame in life is when we are trying to “lift” more than we are able, but do not seek help from a spotter. There are lots of people who are willing to serve as a “spotter” when asked. #hangovergang forever - for life 🤟🏽🤟🏼🤟🏿

NCT DREAM are definitely more focused on their vocals but if you are looking to see more of their rap I’d recommend you listen to “Saturday drip”. As for more rap heavy songs by NCT overall you should give “new axis” by NCT U a listen. If you want something more hiphop I would definitely say you listen to “90s love” though.

Yeah I agree the music video and the entire concept for it is pretty cool! And to answer a few of your questions, “ISTJ” is one of the 16 MBTIs (Myers-Briggs Type Indicator) it’s a personality type basically (I-introvert, S-sensing, T-thinking, J-judging, which is the words they actually start the song with) Personality types are pretty popular:trendy in South Korea so I think that’s why they made a song revolving these traits and their subject. There’s a test available online if you want to know your personality type for fun, it’s not the most credible personality test but it’s popular and fun to do once in a while. NCT Dream along with NCT wish are the younger NCT members (which is noticeable if you go down their discography since they debuted at pretty young ages. Just a heads up if you listen to their older stuff) NCT Dream do rap but it’s more so in their b-sides (songs in their albums that don’t have a video) they also show off more of their vocals skills there (This is pretty general for all NCT units tbh). Also about the Korean-English switches in their song, it’s a thing in Kpop lol if you look at other groups as well you’ll notice that they have the same language switches (which is I think a way to make kpop more global and easier ig for global fans to enjoy). You should probs check out other groups too lol (Aespa is a girl group, their recent mv “Drama” is so good and the mv is just insane! They’re under the same label as NCT and their friends with the guys.) WAYV is another NCT unit I think you should check out (btw they don’t have “NCT” in their name since they’re a Chinese unit and there’s tension between China and Korea. However the group does promote as a Kpop group and often with the other NCT members as well so their no different other than their name lol and their style of music) you can start with “On My Youth” it’s really good!
