I think I mentioned on the hyottoko vid about how Yokai watch has a terrifying version of those appearing as a trio, apparently when I asked a a Japanese fan what their dancing to, it's apparently bon odori. The music is pretty catchy.

Out of all the classical yokai, this one has the weirdest treatment in yokai watch, as they have greesel (a cheapskate) and awevil (a supposedly super evil yokai) who look like him but aren't him, and the name was given to enma daious second in command (named zazel in english translations), who looks nothing like his namesake. As for elusive, well all 3 of them tend to be found after beating the final boss/doing some off the beaten path stuff so...

Hmm, yokai waych had this sash wrapped around a tree... which coincidentally had an elevator to the spirit world and the first game ended witj it being sealed to stop an evil squod yokai from conquering the world...at the cost of all the yokai banished back to their world temporarily.

Now thats weird. The yokai watch version of this yokai has no mouth...it looks weird with one now

Ive eventually learnt elder bloom from yokai watch was based on this tale when I first heard it (his name in Japanese is hanasaka-jii and he has a lot of flower based abilities) and and recently i just noticed he carries around ashes in a bucket too...wow thats a lot of attention to detail

Ive never worn this mask, but in the secind yokai watch game while playing through a seemingly never ending tunnel, i run into 3 of them, and sometimes they turn my character into one after a jumpscare... drastically decreasing their speed for a few steps before changing back to normal, I wonder why they do that

Do you have it? -Yokai Watches Gashadokuro while attacking, english dub. (Also humorously hes probably the weakest incarnation of it as he has a bandaged heart, and as the first boss of the game aim for that and he just falls so easily while apparently here its "unstoppable")

Well i guess that explains why yokai watchs todomeki (called eyesoar) is an oni like creature as opposed to a female hunanoid Yokai like blizzaria (yukionna) or lady longnek (rokurokubi).

I wonder if its friends with the todomeki
