    I'm.. not sure. I wanted to buy this bike, but although you say it's a good bike, you don't sound very enthusiastic, you say you don't know what kind of bike it is, what kind of category does it fit in etc. I have my eyes on the Ibis DV9 V2, but that's way more expensive @ 3.4k while being way underspecced @ Deore spec. But I do like higher stack bikes, that's what I noticed.. So not sure..

    • @pedallinghell
      @pedallinghell 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It’s an all round hard tail in between xc and hardcore… I’m still more than happy with it today! Would say the ibis frame wipes the floor with the Vitus though in terms of quality so if you plan on keeping it for some time you could just upgrade components as they fail 👍🏻

    • @mircea5013
      @mircea5013 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@pedallinghell hmm, this is actually useful info. So you would think that in terms of frame the Ibis does make sense? I am going to keep it for a very long time, provided I like it. I'm just curious what makes a frame better? I know the DV9 is more "modern" (will see if that's actually better or not), but anything else? :) To make it worse, In the 3k range there are some really light FS bikes, like the new Canyon Neuron CF9 (xt everything, carbon wheels). So I am absolutely bombarded with options, I have no idea what to buy anymore :P

    • @pedallinghell
      @pedallinghell 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I’m my opinion I’d say the constitution looks better on the ibis so it stands more chance in lasting a good few years. After that everything else is personal preference in terms of geometry and ride plus it’s gotta be better at almost twice the frame price surely. Full suspension has its place depending on what you like too ride so that should probably be the first thing to work out….

    I live locally to those hills and know every trail around and over them, I recognise every stretch you were on and have run that route countless times. I'm surprised that the official route solely uses those woodland trails because as nice as they are they're not what you're there for. Hi, I bought my Sentier in July 2021 so it's just turned 1 year old and like you I love it .. I'm a 90's happy hardtailer. Liked the video. I've not had a single issue with my wheels interestingly. Did have the paintwork issues from delivery which CRC fixed quickly. I did find they didnt route the cables very well from factory so it ended up in a shop very quickly to get that sorted. I ride forest of dean regularly and have done 2 long distance (40-60k) competition trail / XC rides so it's been used pretty hard. All I've changed is the chain once and a steerer tube bearing although saying that I think it won't be too long before my cassette is gone. I keep my bike very clean. After each major ride I go to town on strip down and clean. I'm 5'8" and just wondering if I should have gone large just for some of the longer distance stuff but for FoD it's amazing. It's still got a lot more capability than I have!!

    • @pedallinghell
      @pedallinghell 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Great bike think I was just unlucky with the wheels really, can’t fault CRC for the warranty stuff👍🏻. I’d say medium is the best size given your height. If you’re doing longer distance just play about with the stack height and seat position to tune the reach. 90s was definitely the golden age of MTB 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 😁
