Hi there,
ShedTorque is a channel I created for the purpose of everything motorbike related. Bikes, discussions, ride-outs, projects and reviews. A mechanical engineer since the age of 17, now I teach for a living and I'm not so young! Naturally I have a love for most things mechanical, although preferably bike related. I created the channel after building myself a proper "Man Shed" and deciding to document everything I work on. I also love to throw in some mechanical science.
If you have any questions then feel free to add me using any of the links above, or you can email me directly on the address below. ALL donations will be used to buy bikes for further projects, or towards Engineering related products to review on the channel, and possibly some beer.
Your SUBSCRIPTION to the channel would be really appreciated! I hope you enjoy watching the videos as much as I do creating them!
See you in the Shed!

Are CHEAP visors worth it? Ali Express Visor Review (Part 1)
£8.70 delivered for a new motorcycle visor, worth it? My first Ali Express purchase was a visor for my Scorpion Exo 520 helmet. I was a bit dubious, and at the time of writing this, it has not been road tested for noise or visibility, but my initial impressions left me somewhat moderately impressed. We will see in Part 2 how it fairs on the road.

I think many Swedish people have the opinion (and experience) that the Swedish made Bacho tools from 30-40 years ago had the best quality, better than today and on par with the very best tool brands. Primarily adjustable wrenches, pipe wrenches, socket sets and spanners. Then they moved the manufacturing to Spain and Argentina, and the quality and design suffered. Still some very good tools today, but also some low quality tools. Apparently, there were real high quality adjustable wrenches made in Spain since the early 20th century, but the quality of the Bacho wrenches still suffered.
Great video bud, and so helpful in my decision on both downpipes and end can. PLEASE can you let me know if this is the 200 or 230 version. Assuming the 200.
Thanks buddy I appreciate that. To be honest, I am not sure. But I'll get back to you.
@@ShedTorque46thank you very much buddy, my error though as the 230mm is a slightly different can. In your opinion is it too loud as Im concerned that its 118db where all others I see are circa 105/7
@@ShedTorque46 hey buddy just a further update and further thanks, as you helped me decide to purchase the 200mm can that you installed which is now installed on my bike with OEM exhaust for now. Im totally over the moon, it looks and sounds awesome
@@sijc9277 No problem at all my friend
Great video. I need to remove my tank to correct a shockingly poor paint job by Honda . The clear coat on the bike is like my daughters water paints at nursery 🤦
It's also as soft as cheese.. thanks for the comment dude.
@@ShedTorque46 random question - I have small spots of dirt actually inside my tft screen , can’t get to it but it’s annoying me . I presume it’s from condensation , the unit is sealed but not under vacuum. So annoying on a bike with 2k on the clock .
I have never opened one up, but I'm sure with the right tools and some care it can be done buddy.
I bought a hjc rainbow mirrored visor for £25 had no certified mark (the standard hjc ones are £50) when it rained during the daytime, it distorted everything might aswell be blind folded. But my stock hjc one didnt distort anything.
Good to know dude.. it's rained all year in Wales and now I need some to test it, the sun is flat out lol
I'm not about to risk my face with a cheap visor from China , I doubt they're made to any standard and I'm not saying they are crap but I'd still rather buy the original from visor shop for 30 euro. Also I work in a phone shop and we have these nano gel screen protector sheets (Lensun , made in Japan) I put one across the visor and cut it to size , its hydrophobic and self healing and almost impossible to scratch. I do about 25,000km a year on the bike and I've not replaced my visor now in over 2 years were as before it was every 6 months due to wear and tear.
Good to know. Thanks for the comment. I am interested to know what safety tests these visors go through, so I am trying to find out. Cheers for the comment.
Be interesting to find out , but also expansive as testing is well ....destructive.
You do realize that everything in your house, work and items are made in China 😂
@@steve00alt70 Actually almost nothing I have is made in China , half my computer is made in malay/south korea, sure a lot of my electronic home controles are made in china but by American companies who also ensure quality control and standards, point being is just because its made in China does not mean its bad just that if your buying a visor from ali and its made by xyz who don't give a shit about your safety then yea sure play with your life , but If I buy it from visor shop it might be still made there but at least its being tested by eu safety standards like tuv on the way in and I'm at least a little confident its not going to shatter first time a pebble hits it.
Are these visors just to save your face from the rain and stop the wind blowing your fake eyelashes off, or do they serve a safety purpose? If so, how does the Alibaba express one fare if a stone kicked up square into it in comparison to the genuine one? 🤔
Protection. Although no idea how much in comparison to a more expensive one. Fortnine did some tests on visors a while ago. Worth a watch. I presume these are safety tested to a standard, I just haven't found out which one yet. I'll soon find out.
Thanks! Very helpfull :) what brand and type mirrors are those you have on there? Looking for some solid ones that look cool
Luis Moto bar ends and mirrors. 🤟
I'm surprised that after you saw the first price, your thoughts weren't - It's CNC time, foreigner rate 😂
I have ordered a couple of sets mate lol.. I'll be making some ha ha you knew it
Fill up your bags whit flr and sgb or even xlm and xrp whe are going too the moon
Very good video. The Swedish brand Bahco also absorbed the best Spanish tool brands (Irazola, Palmera, Acesa and Irimo). Irimo continues to be sold as Bahco's second brand and its catalog, although smaller, has very good quality tools. Both Bahco and Irimo manufacture in different places around the world (Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Argentina, China, Taiwan...). Greetings from Spain
Thanks for the info dude! Appreciate it.

Ha Ha that's mint, thanks for the comment dude.
I am about to pull the trigger on these for my 2008 ZZR1400 and you are the only one who has a video of this exact exhaust. Did you install, I was really hoping to hear what the sounded like😔
You never did an install video?
On its way
If Black widow are watching I’ll quite happily do a video of me installing one of your full systems with the 230mm carbon slashed blue and can. And my Honda hornet 750 you all know it’s gonna sound better than the 4 cylinder. So please black widow uk contact your boy in Scotland and I’ll make a belter of a video taking the full exhaust into the hills of the west coast of Scotland. Full send baby
The spark plug tool in the stock under seat toolkit makes access a lot easier to plug no.1.
I changed the entire exhaust system of my 2011 F-150 using my Bahco S240, S330 and S160 socket sets and they seem to be very good quality. I have used this brand before and they have an excellent reputation. For me, this brand has been with me for about 7 years and not even They show signs of rust or anything similar. very good video and perspective
Thanks for sharing!!
Hi Guys, i have a ZZR 1200 with the stock exhaust. I want to change them with black widow or delkevic. Anyone already test both exhaust to compare ?
how did you install it in the throttle grip by screwing them in to keep it stable, the throttle grip remains stuck! how did you install it?
There should be a spacer, it gives a small clearance between the throttle and the mirror. I'll try and take a photo.
thanks attend photo@@ShedTorque46
Thanks for the help , I usually just throw it at my mechanic.....bearing went and he's on holiday and I was missing part 12 on the diagram (rh spacer) , thanks to this video I know now what it should look like in reality, mine came out with the bearing race welded to it. I think I need a new one lol.
Ha ha yeah, I'd say. Glad it helped though.

WOOOH Holly exhaust buddy! 👏👏👏👏 From Rio de Janeiro 🇧🇷
I have an old school “ made in Sweden “ Bahco 8” adjustable and a new one . Neither have had the abuse to determine quality difference.
Perfect sound and bike but what for this bend around before the muffler when it can go directly? can anybody explain?
I would assume pressure related computational dynamics.
I like Bahco tools just not very keen on the actual finish they seem more towards the industrial side with what seems to be a spray painted type of finish. I definitely prefer the polished finish easy clean automotive stuff
Any chance you could share the route? Great video thank you 🙏

@@ShedTorque46 fantastic, thanks for sharing I appreciate it. 👍
I bought a big Bahco set in 2008 the big set with 1/2 inch & 1/4 drive with spanners got at a good deal from a BOC gases shop £130.00 it's been brilliant, the sockets have had some pain. what I like is you pick it up & you have most thing to do a job. I'm thinking of buying a S138 set roughly £170 delivered when on offer. I not sure if the quality will be as good. I have 3/8 snap on ratchet & sockets, but just like the idea you pick up 1x box & it's all there tidy.
Just did all this (and more) as I have a slightly damp valve cover so need to replace the gasket, that lower airbox panel needed to come right out to get the valve cover off, it only just squeezed out from the front right hand side, honestly thought the forks were gonna have to come off !!! Proper shit design if you ask me, ah well, at least it's November and I can take my time, got a few other jobs to sort out while it's in bits.. cheers.
Thanks for watching! I haven't done much recently but fitted some heated grips last night on a friends bike so will upload that, also fitted a complete exhaust system on a friends bike so just in the middle of editing that! Thanks again!
In the 80's Bahco adjustables were the ones to have. Hence I have them in 4", 6", two 7" wides, 12" and an 18". They have served me well. I also have the SL25, S160 and the S240 socket sets, a bit set and many other tools. No complaints from me from a pro working in heavy industry. You mentioned Draper too, I still have some of their stuff I bought in the 80's, not used now but they lasted the distance. My kit is now predominantly Klein. Nice stuff but difficult/expensive to get parts for, postage makes them a throw away item because its cheaper to buy a new replacement. So Klein in being replaced by Knipex, Wera and Milwaukee. Tools are an expensive hobby.
Good to know! Thanks for the info mate. Thanks for watching! I haven't done much recently but fitted some heated grips last night on a friends bike so will upload that, also fitted a complete exhaust system on a friends bike so just in the middle of editing that! Thanks again!

Very good video. Looks like you are using k&n or another reusable filter. How often do you clean them? Do you oil them and grease the mating surfaces? Not sure if I should go oem or after market?!? Thanks!)
Hi mate, K&N yeah, piper cross do some nice ones too. I do use a small amount on the mating surfaces yes, just to stop any residual dirt getting in. On this bike, after market all day. But it does depend on what bike you have I guess. Thanks for watching, I haven't done much recently but fitted some heated grips last night on a friends bike so will upload that, also fitted a complete exhaust system on a friends bike so just in the middle of editing that! Even if the quality is very good, tools from china, no matter the brand, are not assets which will appreciate. They are liabilities. You don't want to ever spend money on liabilities. It won't even be sellable for the amount you paid. Not even half usually. (and that's if you don't use it even once.) People who have Hazet, Snap On etc. can sell their tools and buy a new house with the money, even after using them for decades. Because the tools appreciate over the years. The Hazet tools I got two years ago are worth double now because I got good deals. I have sold some because I like doubling my money for buying stuff I love to use. I know a mechanic who retired recently. He sold his Snap On tools for $120,000 which cost him $6,000 new when he bought them 35 years prior. Those tools are assets. If he had bought high quality stuff from the east, sure it would have been cheaper but it would have been scrap long before he retired. You are reluctant to believe this because you are trained by the establishment to desire liabilities. That's how they get your money and keep you from retiring from the labour pool from which they derive all your labour.
Cheers for commenting and watching.
