My mom is a nurse so she brings home a box of like 500 tongue depressors and these work great as a replacement for twigs because they are made to put in your mouth so they don’t have any added chemicals :)

If you use twigs from outside, disinfect them by freezing them then put them in boiling water and let them dry. I saw a bugs crawling from the twigs that's why I commented.

Great video. :) Do you have any advice on making homemade peanut butter chewies? My dwarf hamster is extremely picky with chew toys, and I've tried putting peanut butter on a store bought chewy (trying to keep his teeth trimmed), but he just licks it off. :/
