Hello Victoria Lipford. How are you doing? I don,t have my masterson stay wet pallet yet and i don,t like the primary colors as mutch as i thought i would. Another artist in her video was talking about the hue colours of liquitex basics. She sayed its a little more expensive but you get worth for you,re buck in the long run. I asked whitch colours i should paint whit and she sayed you only need 5 hue colours. You need Cadmium red medium hue,cadmium yellow hue,cobalt blue hue mars black and the biggest tube of titanium white you could find. I am gonna try that wen i run out of my 12 set of liquitex basics acrylic paint. Thanks so much for your comment! Yes, the earth colors granulate when dry. They are much different than Winsor And Newton or other brands of watercolor. I really like that they are different. They are more on the opaque and chalky side also. I hope I have answered your question and thank you.😊

Hi, yes I would recommend this for beginners. It doesn’t seem too complicated at least for me. It is very inexpensive compared to a beginner set you would buy from an Oriental Art Supply. I would recommend it for beginners.👍

Hi yes it is a little bit of a thinner paint. When I paint with it, I usually mix colors together and sometimes add a little white to the paints which makes the paint less see-through. I hope this helps.😊

Hello i looked just now on amazon and they have the primary colours in stock. It comes in a plastic carry box whit the tubes inside. So i am gonna order that one,a metallic set and 1 tube of quiacrdone megenta i hope i spelled it right.

Thanks so much and glad for your comment! Yes, I still use these paints. They a very different from most of the watercolor paints I have. These paints are one of the most used art supplies in my art room. I happened to catch these on a 30% discount because they are a bit pricey and I wasn’t going to purchase on regular price. I glad I was able to get a discount and get them. Not sure when they will be giving another discount but I hope you can try them.

@@ad6449 Yes, I glaze with them but not as much as I do with my other watercolor like Winsor And Newton. This type of watercolor has a lot of texture and granulation after it dries and is a little less transparent than other watercolors that I use. I hope this helps.😀

I’m not sure about the liquid gum arabic but Golden brand has a lot of different paint mediums like Golden Open thinner, Golden Acrylic Wetting Agent and they also have fluid acrylic paint if you want to use a thinner acrylic paint. You can dilute the acrylic paint with water but that may make the colors less vibrant depending on the type of acrylic paint you use. I hope this help and thank you so much.😀

Of the products you mentioned (the water & acrylic “softener” both really lighten our colors so am trying to figure out which of the brands you mentioned (if possible) don’t lighten the colors or would have to mix same shade (not easy). One more question, do you use like sponges w parchment paper over & like a sealed “Tupperware” thing to keep colors on pallet still moist?? Tyvvm. Really trying to learn this medium as enjoy it very much.

@@appleknocker56 I used to use a sponge under the palette paper that came with my Mastersen “Stay Wet” palette but I don’t use it anymore because It got moldy. I typically paint in one sitting sometimes so I don’t have to keep my paints moist. If I get up and take a break and want to keep the paints moist I lightly spray a paper towel and put it on top of the paints until I return. I use plain old paper plates now but if you want to purchase a palette that keeps the paints moist try the Mastersen “Stay Wet” palette. Hope this helps.😀
