Clear Water Filtration - Neck of the Woods - Fundraiser Video
For a bar that only serves water, something sure stinks about this place. Is your water at home offensive to your nose? You deserve clean, clear water!
Sulfur Water
Very, very helpful. Thank you.
Ok Video, but doesn't tackle worse case scenario. The worst scenario, the big blue is disconnected from the pex wall attachments because you just break the fittings if you apply force. So with this annoying free standing Big Blue, how do you get Queen of Queens B, off? The issue is you need lots of force, stability and balance, so how do you pull it of?. You need a sturdy plastic wrench or the tool in the video. Step 2 is not what it seems, you need a 12" Bessey clamp, it has a round end (usually a piece of plastic or rubber over metal that is red) and same material on the other end except the other end is more rectangular. On the rectangular end, you remove that plastic and it gives you something that will fit inside the 1" NPT hole of the 10" Big Blue. So what on Earth do you do with the other side; you have to be smart. I used the lid of a hair gel cylinder (needs to be thick enough and somewhat flexible plastic) this goes over the 1" NPT and you try to line up the round end with the center of the 1" NPT except it will hit the plastic; then you have to clamp it perfectly tight so that you have apply enough resistance without going through the plastic. Now you think complicated and this is not going to work. Not so fast, I haven't finished. Now you go to Home Depot or any similar store and buy 2 3/4 iron plumbing pipes (not copper), for one of them you buy the 3/4 to [1 1/4"] converter, a [1 1/4"] union piece. Save 1 3/4 iron pipe and connect the rest together. The assembly goes over the wrench, the lone pipe extends the Bessey. Get ready to f***. You win, I promise you. Now all you need to is the lid goes counter clockwise, and Big Blue goes clockwise. If you you mess that up, you will royally f******. You'll basically break the seal, break the threads. So you apply some plumber's silicone lubricant (needs to water safe you are drinking, bathing don't be dummy) you apply that to the top and the inner end of the threads and you tighten only ideally only with wrench if you are strong enough, if you are somewhat weak you can use the Bessey without extension, but don't over tighten. So my o-ring is busted on mine, I mean, expanded beyond easily fitting on. So what did I do, I assembled in reverse, I put the lid on the ground, the oring on the lid, and screw the whole thing on. And it worked, no leaks. Think man think. I just took care of all the problems you might have with Big Blue, say thank you. Those iron pipes and fittings are cheap too. If you can solve the hard, you can fix the easy :)
I use a different water filter (Aquasure) but your instructions essentially worked for that filter replacement also. Thanks for the help.
Excellent instructions. Just did my first one. Right after a 10 min search for the water shutoff valve. 😅
Does it matter which direction the filter is installed? Is it possible to accidentally install the filter upside down?
Thanks for the video
Didn’t work it’s still leaking
Will turning the water off and pressing the red button make it easier to open the filter housing
This has helped me more than once. Thank you for the demo!
How to remove the power cable from the system and then re-attach it
Thank you, my tanks both are leaking. Flooded my entire shop concrete floor. People in Tri Cities Wa. Are useless. No help at all, didn’t even give me an owners manual when I paid them over $5K (4) years ago and just got the darn thing working and now both tanks leak like a Sieve. Very unhappy with Kinetico Water Sofetener. Four thumbs down on Tri City Service. Now they want $2500 for two new Tanks, remove the leakers and install new tanks. I have excellent well water, just to much Iron in it. Reason for Kinetico.
How to backwash the drinking water system
Awesome! Clear concise explanation. Thank you!
What is that big black filter to the left and what does it do?
That's a water softener. It replaces metals with salt and is much easier on the skin. It isn't needed in areas that don't have hard water.
thanks for posting this. 6 years later it helped me change my filter.
This video does absolutely nothing for me. They call this a "Big Blue" but it is about 1/4 of the size of mine. They also do not show exactly how to place the filter back in the housing. Each side is completely different. Please advise is there is a video to install and clean the real "Big Blue!"
There’s no demo at the end. Does the water completely shut down when u drain the tank or no? I’m on 3 hrs and it’s still dripping heavily
When I need to do the back wash?
What setting are these supposed to be?
The o ring is too large in diameter to fit the goddam groove
Its been stretched. Time to replace. This is caused by overtightening
How often are you supposed to change the filter? Where can I get more filters and O ring?
depends on how big is the filter and how much water you consume. Filters last from 6 months to 1 year usually but BIG filters like 50" can last 6 years. It all depends on how dirty is the water and how much water you consume. The maximum lifetime of the filter is described on its label.
If my water is still dirty after swapping out my filter, what might cause that?
Very professional, confident, simplified, and thorough. Great job and thanks for your help!!
I have a similar filter, but I can't get it off with the wrench. I recently moved into this home and the owner before did not maintain. How can I get it off without damaging?
Is this the filter that needs to go into this unit? www.amazon.com/Pentek-CBC-BB-Carbon-Filter-Cartridge/dp/B00310NIU0/ref=psdc_3741151_t3_B001V8IVCE or this one www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001V8IVCE/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Please reply with either 1 or 2
This video would be more useful if you changed the filter on a system (pressurized with water) so we could see the water blow out of the red pressure-relief valve and pour all over the floor like it really would - since the water softener tank would be pressurized. It's a good idea to also have on-hand a tube of food-grade silicone grease (not a petroleum-based grease!) and a new replacement o-ring (probably a p/n OR-100) in case the old o-ring is damaged or swollen, as it often is. Also, technically that (unscrewing the housing) is counter-clockwise, not clockwise.
yes, i just sprayed myself with water! good video though.
It was moving in a clockwise direction when he unscrewed it so not sure what you're talking about. When I screw it back on its counter clockwise
@@lizcasxmp2you tighten your filter housing counter clockwise?
Yes, right handed thread, counter-clockwise to loosen. That was jarring to hear.
Thank you, nice job
Noice
Great simple video. Thank you.
I wind these tanks lol
can you guide me how to change filter for Kinetico Overdrive Enhanced Water System. I need to know how to change the filter and also how to put salt in the water tank. Thanks.
thanx
Should the blue indicator disappear (get smaller), when it is time to replace the filter?
Very good question, if like gas gauge the low reading is time to replace... clarification is needed manual is also very vague concerning indicator
I don’t have a filter wrench.
Thanks for posting this. :)
So, when the blue indicator is gone- time to replace filters?
Great video guys. Thanks!
Great video guys. Thanks!
I have a pet air carbon filter, like the one here, but larger, do I need to clean each week or what maintenance should I be doing, thanks in advance
Why does mine drain all the time
once I put the dail on to backwash do I have to move the dail back to a certain position or does it reset on its own?
It runs the backwash for about 10 minutes then returns to normal operation on its own.
@@kennedymcewen9945 same with the rinse setting as well?
@@jayworthen3995 Yes, after the rinse completes it will move on to normal operation.
